Sterek crack!AU: Stiles and Derek get caught âmaking outâ in a car. The Sheriff could totally let it slip if earlier that day Stiles didnât swore that he was absolutely not dating Derek Hale.
âThanks for meeting with me, Helen,â Derek said as he sat down at the table.
âNot a problem Der. I was in the area and bored out of my mine. Plus, you know I always like to hear from youâ Helen replied before taking a sip of her coffee.
âSo, whatâs up?â She asked
âUh, are you sure we can talk about this here? Shouldnât we go somewhere more, I donât know... private?â Derek asked, looking around the artsy coffee shop. It was pretty empty, but still.
âNot to worry. The ownerâs a friend. Plus, Iâve already put a charm up so no one eave-dropsâ Helen informed him with a smile.
âOh, I didnât know you frequented this areaâ Derek replied.
âSometimes, it is a nice little tucked away town. I like it. But you are avoiding the questions. Come on, you called me. Talkâ Helen demanded.
Derek took a stealing breath before starting, âRemember that, uh, boy I told you about?â he started.
âYou mean, the one you are in love with but can only see at certain times for a certain reason that you refused to tell me?â Helen asked.
âYeah, that one. Uh well you seeâŚheâs a merman,â Derek finally said, taking great joy in watching Helen convulse, as she tried not to spit her coffee everywhere. It wasnât often that he surprised her.
âAre, are you serious?â Helen asked, while coughing a bit.
âYep,â Derek replied
âWell shit,â was her response
âPretty much,â Derek said, taking a sip of his own coffee.
âWha, how, whe,â Derek watched her as she started saying a word before cutting herself off. He watched as she started piece things together, filling in the blanks on her own. She was always good at that.
âOk. So what do you need my help for? UnlessâŚâShe trailed off again, giving him a calculating and inquisitive look. It didnât take long for Derek to cave and tell her everything.
âSo, to prove Iâm serious, I want to go talk to him. On his turf.â Derek finished.
âWhoa, whoa, whoa, hold up lover boy. Are you saying you want me to run you into a merman?â Helen asked, looking surprised. That was twice in one night that Derek got her, thatâs probably a new record.
âOr something to that effect...â Derek said.
âAre you serious? Der, even if I could, and Iâm not sure I could, I donât have any base ideas or spells for that, not takingâŚâ
âI do,â Derek said, cutting her off.
âYou do...â She repeat, disbelief heavy in her voice.
âHere,â Derek said before reaching down and pulling a book out of his bag and giving it to her. He watched her eyes grow wide as she read the cover and, really, he was on a roll today.
âOh wowâ She whispered before gently picking up the book. After a few minutes of her caressing and whispering sweet nothings to the book, and, really, that was a little creepy to watch... it was a book, she finally refocused on him.
âOk, say I do this, and I am still not saying that yet, I am not convinced yet, and it works. How are you going to find him? Itâs not like youâre searching a pond or somethingâ She pointed out, but Derek was prepared for that.
âIâm going to follow this,â Derek said before revealing the scale Stiles had given him all those years ago.
âIs that...?â Helen started to ask with something close to awe in her voice and, really, Derek was starting to worry that he was dealing with a pod person or something.
âA scale from his tail. He uses it to find me when I call. I figure I can use it to find him,â Derek told her. When he looked up, she was giving him an odd look he couldnât describe.
âIs that all he told you the scale was for?â she asked
âYesâ Derek answered hesitantly, a bit confused by her question. She just nodded before gently tapping the scale.
âOk. First, you need to put that away. Freely given mermaid scales hold very powerful magic. I would warn you to always be careful, but I feel you already are. Second, you need to finish your coffee, itâs time we goâ she said with a smirk before downing her own coffee and getting up.
âWhere are we going?â Derek asked and her followed her example.
âBack to my place. We need to figure out how to transform you and I feel we have very little timeâ she told him with a smirk. Derek couldnât fight the smile spreading across his face, even as he rolled his eyes. Why she always felt the need to be so dramatic was beyond him.
âI changed my mind. Iâm turning you in to gain the favor of your family so I can have access to their libraryâ Helenâs yell greeted him as he walk in her front door after running around the entire town getting supplies. Derek had told her how his family didnât know. She hadnât been very supportive of his choice, but she had seemed to understand.
âOh no, whatever will I do?â Derek asked in complete deadpan and with a roll of his eyes.
âHere, will this bribe you back to my side?â He asked as he placed a carryout bag in front of her.
âI accept your briberyâ She informed him with a nod after looking through the bag. Derek just rolled his eyes and took out his own meal. They ate in silence with Helen flipping through the book he brought her and sometimes writing something down and Derek, glaring at Helen, demanding she talk.
âYou, are unbelievably luckyâ she started, after putting her container down and closing the book.
âTurns out, I can transform you into a merman. But only on a full moon that hangs full on a Friday that falls on the 13th day of a monthâ she finished, a raised eyebrow daring him to not take her seriously.
âWell then, itâs a good thing that today is Friday the 13 and the full moon is tonightâ Derek replied and took great satisfaction in how she deflated a bit and pouted.
âArenât you going to ask me why?â She almost whined.
âNope, donât care. All I care about is that you can do it,â Derek informed her.
âYou are no fun...â she huffed with a pout. Derek just shrugged.
âWhat do we need to do?â he asked and felt a true sliver of terror race down his spine at the grin she flashed him.
âCan you believe the nerve of him?â Stiles asked Scott.
âHe kinda has a point though...â Scott pointed out.
âWhat! No! No, he does not have a point! What point? There is no poinâŚ
âStiles... you two literally live in two separateâŚ
âWorlds, yes, I know. But, what about Ariel, huh, sheâŚ
âWas not next in line for the throne. And had to give up everything. And is only a âlegendâ not a true story.â Scott pointed out.
âPsh... please. They only tell us that so no one tries to do it againâ Stiles returned.
âAnd you donât think they might have a good reason for that?â Scott muttered, but Stiles continued on like he hadnât heard.
âI mean, they have a reason. Same reason the werewolves have, but itâs already too late. He already knows Iâm a merman. He knows and doesnât care because, guess what, he is a werewolf! Therefore, their whole âwarn and scare everyone caution storiesâ arenât really going to work anymore. Not for me. So, are you going to help me find a way to figure out how Ariel did it or not?â Stiles asked, whirling on Scott.
âStiles, buddy. Have you actually thought this through?â Scott asked. However, as soon as Stiles opened his mouth, Scott cut him off.
âI mean really thought this through. Not just the whole âoh do I actually love him partâ but everything else. You are the crown prince! You have your Dad and me and Lydia, Allison, DannyâŚâ
âYes, yes. I get your point.â Stiles said. âBut Scott, man. Iâ Stiles paused, letting out a sigh before biting his lip.
âI gave him a scale from my tailâ Stiles confused softly.
âYou... WHAT!â Scott basically screeched.
âI gave him a scaleâ Stiles repeated with more confidence before rushing on and saying, âLook I know I never said anything, but, uh, that was actually why I was up there to begin withâŚâ
âTo find your true love in a fashion that is even more of a myth than Ariel?â Scott all but cried out in disbelief, eyes wide.
âWhat? No. Would you just let me tell the story?â Stiles said, giving Scott a look. Scott just closed his mouth and mimed, zipping it close before nodding his head.
âAs I was saying...â Stiles started,  giving Scott a small glare before going on.
âI was up there because, well, I hadnât lost any scales yet. Everyone else was already shed and growing in the first new set and mine refused to come off. So I decided to try and, you know, help them along. But I didnât want to do it here. If my Dad walked in and found out I would just get the whole âeveryone grows at their own paceâ lecture or âitâs ok that youâre not doing what everyone else isâ speech. So, I went up to the surface to try and help the scales alongâ Stiles admitted with a flush.
âBut, I lost track of time. Before I realized, I had lost the tide and was kind trapped. At least till high tide came in but then I would never make it back in time before Dad noticed I wasnât just swimming around with you. Thatâs when Derek found me. And after he moved me back into the ocean I felt it. A slight itching. When I reached back, one of my scales slipped right off. SoâŚâ
âBut Stiles, you had been working at them all day!â Scott interrupted
âI know! Trust me, I thought about that which is why I didnât give it to him that day. But Scott, it was perfectly intact. It didnât chip or shatter. Didnât have any cracks or dents in it. And I didnât lose any more scales until almost a year later when I finally shed them all, never mind that weekend. But Scott, it workedâ Stiles whispered, looking Scott right in the eye. Neither moved for a moment and Stiles went on.
âSo, after spending the weekend with him, I found out that he doesnât really live there. Just visits and there would have been no way to get in contact after, so I thought âwhat the hell itâs worth a shot,â and gave him the scaleâ
âAnd he just took it?â Scott asked in bewilderment.
âYep. I mean, itâs not like he knew what that meant. I told him it was so he could let me know when he was at the shore and we could talk. Last I saw, it was still perfectly intact and it definitely worksâ Stiles finished before flopping down on his oyster bed next to Scott.
âDudeâ
âI knowâ
âYou have to tell himâ Scott finally said after several minutes of them just laying there. Stiles sighed.
âI know. But, he hasnât come back to talk about it and, well, you are rightâŚâ
âDo you love him?â Scott asked cutting him off.
âMore than I thought was possible, dudeâ Stiles answered sincerely
âThen, we will figure something  outâ Scott said with a small grin.
âWhat, do you mean?â Stiles asked, a huge grin starting to form across his face.
âYep. Iâm going to help you! I will not stand by and watch you lose your true love!â Scott proclaimed just before Stiles tackled him.
âDude you are the best bro ever!â Stiles declared.
âI know, I know. So where do we start looking for this âmiracleâ spell that turns you human?â Scott asked.
âWhere else? Lydiaâ Stiles answered with a cheery grin. Scott groaned.
âReally man? Do we have to?â Scott asked
âOf course we do! She is the leading expert on all magic and has the best libraryâ Stiles replied
âI thought you were the leading expertâŚâ Scott started before Stiles cut in.
âWeâre tied. Or were. Besides, different fields of magic. Iâm more experimental and creation while sheâs more rarity and perfection. Plus, we both know I had to give that up to start studying under Dad.â
âFine, but that means we are stopping and getting Allison on the way,â Scott stated. Stiles just hummed his approval. Just what, exactly, had Scott gotten himself into?
âCare to tell me whatâs wrong?â Talia asked Derek gently.
âNothingâs wrongâ Derek told his mother.
âDerek, itâs almost sunset and youâre still here. You havenât left the house once todayâ Talia pointed out with a pointed eyebrow raise.
âSo? Maybe I just wanted to spend the day with everyone. Isnât that what youâre supposed to do on family vacations?â Derek asked stubbornly ignoring his motherâs point. It just made her chuckle.
âMaybe thatâs true for some families and some people. But not ours and definitely not you. You havenât spent a full day with us in this house since you were 8. Always sneaking away and being careful enough that neither Laura nor Cora could ever follow you. So I ask again, whatâs wrong?â Talia asked him with a look that said she better not have to ask again.
âItâs justâŚyou seeâŚIâŚheâŚugh!â Derek responded frustrated at himself for never telling them where he was going or who he was seeing or, well, anything. It was just, he liked having Stiles to himself throughout the years. Derek took a deep breath and tried again.
âIf marrying Dad meant you had to give up everything, cut ties with everyone, and move would you still have done it?â Derek asked instead and tried not to squirm under his motherâs gaze.
âYour father didâ was her reply when she finally answered. Derek could feel his eyes going wide.
âYou probably never noticed because of how big our family is and how everyone elseâs partners brought their family with them. But not your father. His parents didnât like me to begin with. They definitely didnât like me after they found out I was a âmonster.â There was a huge fight. They dragged the entire family into it, even started to threat about bringing hunters into it. Finally, your father decided that enough was enough. He packed his things and ran away with me. He had a job, sisters of his own, family that loved him. He gave it all up for me. And, you know? If the pack hadnât liked him, just because he was human? I would have packed right up and left with him and started my own pack somewhere else,â she told him with a fond grin on her face.
âBut, sweetie. It doesnât always have to be one or the other. And we would never stop loving you. You know that, right? Â Even if you moved to another continent or took off into the mountains. There are always ways of keeping in touch. And even if we no longer see you all the time, you would still be part of the pack. You could still come to the gatherings, or call, or write. Just because you move away doesnât mean you stop being family. Sometimes, more often than not, itâs just a part of life, of growing up and becoming your own personâ she told him gently, before leaning over to give him a reassuring squeeze.
âMomâŚâ Derek started brokenly before she silenced him with a kiss on top of his head.
âThink about what I said. And, when youâre ready, bring that boy of yours around to meet the familyâ she said as she got up, giving him a wink and knowing smirk before walking away.
Derek spent the rest of the night thinking over what his mom had said. He thought about the first time he meet Stiles. How fast they had become friends even though Derek had always had problems talking to people. How much Derek enjoyed Stiles company, his chatter. How, when Derek had told Stiles he was leaving to go home, Stiles had given him a scale from his tale. How Derek still carried that scale with him like a good luck charm.
Derek thought about the fact that one of the first things he did once he got his license was drive up and spend the weekend with Stiles. He thought about all the birthdays they had spent together, even if they were a few days late. He thought about his secret collection of gifts from Stilesâ world. He thought about how he actually took the time to learn Stiles native and formal language, even though Stiles told him that most mer-beings from his kingdom spoke English.
Derek remembered the look on Stilesâ face the first time he tried âabove waterâ food. He remembered his first taste of âbelow waterâ food. Most of all, Derek remembered all the things that Stiles made him feel. Whether it be loved, annoyed, excited, sad, happy, or confused. It didnât matter because Stiles always made him feel alive. That was worth giving up this world for.
Decision made, Derek rolled out of bed and made his way towards the library. Why his family had such a huge library in their vacation house was beyond him, but, for once, he was grateful. He started with the old spell books and made his way over to the mythical section. Hopefully, one or both sections would have something to help him.
It was nearing five am before Derek found what he was looking for. Now, all he needed was someone willing to help. The family was out and, no matter what his mom said, he highly doubted she would be ok with him leaving them to spend the rest of his life at the bottom of the ocean. Which, meant Deaton was out because, as cryptic as that man was, he really couldnât keep his mouth shut. Meaning he would fumbled around and give Derek judging starts until his mother arrived to drag him home and âtalk some senseâ into him. Which only left one person Derek could think of and he really hoped she was close enough to help. He sent her a text asking if she would mind helping. Not too surprisingly she was still up, she never did sleep, and told him she could meet him whenever he wanted. He made plans with her to meet up the next day. He wanted to do this as quickly as possible. He had a lot of shit to make up to Stiles.
Plans set and decision made, Derek sat down to write a goodbye letter to his family. He knew he couldnât say goodbye in person, but they deserved more than him just up and disappearing. Later, after everything was set and finished, Derek fell asleep dreaming of the kiss from Stiles and how he hoped that, after tomorrow, he would spend the rest of his life kissing him.

This is dedicated to the wonderful raisesomehale who always manages to make me smile and stays positive no matter what! She also pointed out that there is a disturbing lack of mermaid fics so I thought I would try to fix that for her. Enjoy!
âIâm Derek, werewolfâ he whispered with a small smile.
âMy nameâs Stiles, mermanâ the boy in the water said in return with a grin that seemed bigger than his face.
âYou cheated!â Derek yelled when he finally pulled himself up on the rock. Stiles just laughed.
âJust admit it. Merman are the superior swimmers, Derek,â Stiles teased.
âIâll admit it when you actually beat me in a fair race, cheaterâ Derek growled.
âI have no idea what youâre talking aboutâ Stiles said as he pulled the best innocent face he could. It was a far cry from innocent.Â
âOh really? So youâre saying it was just a coincidence that a freaking school of turtles swam,â Derek started when Stiles cut him off by saying, âA baleâ
âWhat?â Derek asked in bewilderment.
âA group of turtles is called a bale, Scruffy, not a schoolâ Stiles informed him with a pat to his cheek.
âThat is not the point! And I am not Scruffy, you fishâ Derek replied with a scowl, slapping Stilesâ hand away. Â Â Â Â
âYou so are, dude! It used to be just when you changed. You would turn into this cute little fluff ball! But now, you got all this fuzz on your face on top of your dog form. You are so scruffy, dude. Donât even lie,â Stiles said with a laugh while bringing his hands back up to cup Derekâs cheeks and rub his five oâclock shadow.
âWould you stop that! And how many time have I told you not to call me dude?â Derek said with a stern face as he grabbed Stiles wrist. But Stiles saw the tiny up-ticks on the corner of his mouth and heard the laughter in his voice.
âYouâre not fooling anyone. You love the attention! Now hold still and let me pet you!â Stiles exclaimed before wrestling his hands away from Derekâs to try and pet his face again. Derek let out a mock growl before letting go of Stilesâ wrist to tickle him.
âNo!â Stiles cried out with a laugh before he was able to wiggle away enough to launch his own attack. With a battlecall, Stiles dove at Derek, knocking them both off the rock.
There was a splash and they both landed in the shallow water. Stiles was able to catch himself before going under the water, while Derek landed on his back and went right under.
âStiles!â Derek yelled after he surfaced, spitting up water. Stiles just laughed from where he landed, which ended up being in between Derekâs legs.
âOne of these days, youâre going to kill meâ Derek huffed out as he shifted his weight to one hand reaching the other up to pull a bit of seaweed off the top of his head.
âPlease... You big baby. It would take more than a little tumble to hurt you. Or is the big bad wolf scared of getting a little wet?â Stiles teased from ontop of him.
âYes. I am terrified of the water. Which is way I am always in it with you.â Derek deadpanned.
âOh, stuff it!â Stiles laughed, splashing Derek with his tail.
âWould you stop trying to drown me?â Derek asked in fond resignation.
âI would never! That would be,â Stiles started innocently before dissolving into giggles.
âWhat?â Derek asked.
âThereâs a little hitchhiker in your hair.â Stiles said between laughs, pointing at Derekâs hairline.
âWha...? What are you talking about?â Derek asked, annoyed and a little embarrassed before shifting to reach up and get whatever Stiles was laughing at.
âNo, I got it. I got it,â Stiles said, calming himself before leaning even closer and plucking a fucking sand crab from Derekâs hair.
âThere we go. Come here, cutie. You canât burrow there. Here try thatâ Stiles cooed as he leaned over Derekâs shoulder to place the tiny crab back in the sand.
âThere we go. Crab free now!â Stiles beamed right in Derekâs face, eyes full of amusement.
âThanks...â Derek mumbled, trying to keep his blush down and thanking anyone listening that he was currently sitting in cold sea water.
âYou ok? Your face seems kinda red. Oh no! Did it pinch you? Are you allergic?â Stiles asked in such a rapid fire stream that Derek couldnât answer. Not that he would have if he could. Stiles had cupped his face again and was looking him over with concern in his eyes.
âStiles Iâm fine,â Derek quietly assured.
âThat what you always say! Iâm not taking your word for it,â Stiles informed him as he moved his one hand up to press against his forehead.
âStiles, I am fine. I promiseâ Derek whispered as he reached up and took hold of Stilesâ hand on his forehead. Â Derek gently pulled it down to his cheek again before freezing at the way Stiles was looking at him.
âAlways so brave and trying to protect meâ Stiles whispered back in what sounded like awe as he lifted his free hand to brush some of Derekâs dripping hair out of his face.
âStilesâŚâ Derek breathed out, eyes dropping from Stilesâ eyes to his mouth and then darting back. Derek licked his lips, gathered himself to push Stiles off when Stiles leaned in closer and kissed him gently. Just a shy little press of lips on lips but Derek couldnât stop himself from groaning out Stiles name. And just like that, any hesitation Stiles had was broken. The next kiss was heated, a hard insistent pressure that had Derek opening his mouth on a groan allowing Stiles in.
âDerekâŚâ Stiles groaned, pressing himself closer to Derek, chest to chest and moving his tail⌠Â
âWe canât!â Derek yelled as he pulled back as far as he could. Which wasnât very far considering how Stiles was clinging to him.
âWhat?â Stiles asked eyebrows furrowed.
âStiles, we canâtâ Derek said again, softly, as he gently pulled Stiles off him and stood to leave.
âDerek. Wait! What are you doing?â Stiles asked.
âStiles, I really like you. Iâve liked you for a long time, years. Hell, I might even love you,â Derek said with a humorless chuckle before he turned to face Stiles again.
âSo I canât do this. I canât be your dangerous experiment. I, I canât do this just for funâ Derek said arms crossed and all emotion wiped from his face.
âWell thatâs good!â Stiles exclaimed with a smile â Because you see, you blind, ignorant wolf I also happen,â
âDonâtâ Derek actually snarled out.
âDerekâ Stiles asked softly, voice filled with confusion.
âDonât say that. Donât say you, you like me tooâ Derek whispered, clutching himself. He looked so vulnerable that Stiles just wanted to pull him into a hug.
âAnd why not? Why canât I sayâŚâ Stiles started defiantly before Derek, once again, cut him off.
âBecause I want to keep you!â Derek yelled. âI want to hold you late into the night. I want you to meet my family. I want to build a house for you. I want to make a family with you. I want to grow old with you. I want to have everything with you, but I canâtâ
âWhy canât we? Why canât we have that, Derek?â Stiles asked defiant to the end. Derek just laughed.
âBecause, Stiles, a fish might love a bird but where would they live? Thatâs what we are Stiles. Itâs impossible for us to ever be togetherâ Derek informed him.
âBut, Derek! There... There are story tales of transformation! We couldâŚâ
âMyths, legends, old wivesâ tales. You know theyâre not true. And even if they were, I would never ask that of you. You have a life down there Stiles. You have a family, friends... I could never ask you to leave them all just to be with me. And I, I canât leave Stiles. Not my pack, my family, my job. To never see any of them again I⌠So we canât. We just canât. Itâs impossible. Just a dream, a fantasy that will never, can never happen!â Derek finished with a yell before briskly storming off.
âThe damn WEREWOLF says to the freaking MERMAN!â Stiles yelled after him. When Derek didnât turn back around, didnât even stop, Stiles let out a sigh and, with a longing glance, took off for home. He would give the idiot a day or two and, if he hadnât calmed down enough by then to actually talk about this, well, Stiles would just show him just how wrong he was.Â
"My desire for an angsty Five Times fic featuring the four times Derek Hale said - or thought- âItâll healâ about a body part (and once about the dull ache behind his sternum when he sees Stiles turning his disgustingly sexy antagonistic grin on someone else)
+ the one time he realises heâs already healed, and heâs gonna be fine
knows no bounds."
(I'm moving it over from my main blog to my writing blog for organization and just decided to make a whole new post so there might be another copy of this floating around somewhere sorry)Â
1)
âIt will healâ Laura whispers as she wraps up his blistering and bloody hands. He had been trying to breaking through the mountain ash barrier before Laura and the fireman had shown up.
Derek nods in response. He knows his hands will but his heartâŚwell maybe it was better if it didnât given what it had lead him to.
2)
Derek honestly didnât even know he was doing it until he heard the dripping. Bringing his hand up, Derek realized he was digging his claws into his palm. He watched as the blood ran down his hand and dripped onto Lauraâs grave.
âIt will healâ Derek choked out before gritting his teeth and digging his claws in deeper.
3)
âYou sure youâre ok dude? I could have sworn I saw a bulletâŚâ
âIâm fine Stilesâ Derek growled before turning his back on Stiles and taking off.
Derek swore as he peeled his now ruined shirt off. Luckily the bullet had gone through so he wouldnât have to dig out a bullet again. That had not been an experience he ever wanted to repeat.
âIt will healâ Derek gritted out as he light the pile of wolfs ban on fire. Â
4)
âIâm broken Stiles! Iâm broken and Iâm covered with scars andâŚâ
âI forgive youâ Stiles said as he stood up and walked toward him.
âWhat?â Derek asked, because Stiles couldnât just forgive him like that. Wasnât he listening? It was all Derekâs fault. Everything was Derekâs fault. And all because he had been 16 and thought he was in love.
âI. Forgive. You.â Stiles repeated, punctuating each word with another step closer to Derek.
âThough, I didnât blame you to begin with. But I read that sometimes a person, especially a trauma survivor, needs to be told that they are forgiven. So Iâm telling you I forgive youâ Stiles stated simple before stopping right in front of Derek. Â Then, he hesitated for the first time all night.
âLook, I get it. I get that youâre damaged and hurting butâŚâ
âIt will healâ Derek whispered. And now it was Stilesâ turn to look confused. But Derek was done. He was done blaming himself for things that were out of his control. It was time to heal.
Slowly, and keeping eye contact with Stiles, Derek gently lifted Stilesâ hand until it was resting flat on his heart and whispered  out a promise
âIt will healâ
5)
âYou want to know the biggest problem with werewolves?â The nogitsune asked as he held Derek up by his throat.
âItâs your healing ability. You guys can heal from almost anything. But see, the key word is almostâ the nogitsune taunted as it pulled out a knife saturated in wolfs ban from the smell. Â
âLuckily, our good friend Stiles knows a few ways around that pesky abilityâ the nogitsune said with a twisted smile, right before it plunged the knife into Derekâs stomach.
âStilesâŚâDerek chocked out around the pain.
âSorry, Stiles isnât home right now but please feel free to leave a messageâ the nogitsune laughed as it twisted the knife in Derekâs gut.
âNow letâs see just how good your healing isâ it whispered as it started pulling the knife up his torso. The nogitsune didnât stop moving the knife until it rested right by Derekâs heart. Close enough that Derek could feel the ridges on the knifeâs edge.
âCan you feel it? Can you feel the cold steel pressing closer and closer? Can you feel the poison slowly infect you? Can you feel it wrap its way around your lungs? Around your heart? WhatâŚâ
Derek cut it off when he managed to get his hands on its shoulders. Then, with the world slowly going black around the edges and his strength leaving, Derek moved his hands to cup Stiles face. Looking directly into Stileâs eyes, Derek whispered slowly but clearly
âI forgive you. Itâs going to be fine. It will healâ and maybe it was the delusion of a dying man, but Derek swore the eyes looking back where Stiles right before the world went black.
(And because you asked for a happy ending and I honestly cannot write an ending without any happiness)
+1)
âFuckâ Derek swore as he nicked his thumb with his knife. The cut had already healed by the time Derek had brought his thumb up to suck the blood off.
âYou ok?â Stiles called out as he came into the kitchen.
âIâm fineâ Derek said with an eyeroll, âI just nicked myself. It already healedâ
âYou sure? Maybe I should kiss it better. Just in caseâ Stiles teased as he pulled Derekâs hand up to kiss. It had taken some time, some yelling, a lot of bullshit, and possibly an intervention from the pack, but Derek and Stiles had finally gotten together Stiles freshman year of college. Â Now, years later, Derek couldnât help but think dating Stiles was the best decision of his life.
Gently pulling out of Stiles grip, Derek gathered up both of Stilesâ hands and placed them gently on his heart.
âIt healedâ he whispered before leaning down and kissing Stiles with all the love his finally healed heart had to give.Â
â...So, when the maleâs sperm finally penetrates the femaleâs egg cell, they create what is called a zygote which then undergoes cleavage, growth, and differentiation until, roughly 10 months later, a fully functioning small human is born into the care of the parents,â Seph concluded her presentation.
âLove, you do realize that, just because Daddy and I are gay, doesnât mean that we donât know how babies are formed right? You donât need to tell us how it works, we did go through health class,â explained Derek
âWell Papa, I just wanted to make sure you knew so you werenât surprised when I start to swell and waddle and eventually pop out one of these âbabiesâ in a few months,â stated Seph.
Stiles sits in shock for a moment before, â Oh. My. Gosh. Derek! Our baby is having a baby! Weâll have to go to the store and buy a new crib since the pack one simply will not do. And weâll have to start buying new baby clothes, how long before you figure out what gender the bundling baby is? I wonder what supplies Allison has left over from her last one⌠And weâll need diapers and a high chair, and some formula to supplement with so our precious gets all the proper nutrients andâŚ.â the rest of the rant was muffled by Derekâs hand.
âYou might want to leave now, before he drags you curtain shopping. We are so happy for you and be sure to let us know if you need anything.â
Seph immediately shuffles out of the house, Nessy following close behind.
âSee, I told you they wouldn't eat you for getting me knocked up.â
âNo, that is what I told you this morning when you wanted to back out of the presentation altogether.â
âShush, you! Donât you know better than to argue with the pregnant ladyâ
Derek and Stiles sat, watching the exchange through the window. Stiles sighs, âYeah, theyâll be fine.â
âCome meet my family Kyle said. It will be fun he said. Ok, I said. You know what I forgot to ask? Where is it? You know what he said when I asked? Oh, just quiet, secluded, Motherfucking Beacon Hills! Where am I now, you ask? Oh, nowhere special, just a Motherfucking, dungeon in Motherfucking, Beacon Hills.â
Sophie was pulled from her thoughts when she heard the door thrown open. She watched as four figures made their way down. Two she recognized as Alpha Scott and right hand Beta Derek. The other man and the women, she had no clue who they were other than the ones who ruined her plans. Â Â
âSo letâs start with you telling us exactly what you are,â The women demanded.
âLydia! You canât just, thatâs rude,â Alpha Scott admonished like he didnât have her chained to a wall in a dungeon.
âPersonally, I think the more important questions are: what do you want and why did you attack us?â Beta Derek asked with a terrifying, raised eyebrow. Well, if they thought that was all it took to make her talk, they were dead wrong.
âLook, I really hate to do this but, if you donât want to talk, well, there are other ways to get your informationâ Alpha Scott said as he cut a look to the man in the shadows. For the first time, she felt real fear. The kind of fear legends were supposed to instill. Before anything could happen though, they all look towards a loud bang from above, followed by yelling, followed by more crashing that sound like it was getting closer.
âDad! Dad! I need help, like, right now! My girlfriend Sophie has disappeared sheâs not answering her phone andâŚâ
âKyle?â Sophie yelled in confusion.
âSophie?â Kyle yelled in just as much confusion.
âWait, Dad?â Sophie cried out again look at Alpha Scott.
âKyleâ Alpha Scott sighed in resignation.
âDad?â Kyle questioned, still clearly confused.
âSophie?â Alpha Scott asked her, as he turned to look back and forth between his, fuck, his, son and her.
âStiles!â The guy in the corner exclaimed.
âSorry, couldnât resistâ He said with a grin.
âThere clearly seems to be some confusion, so why donât you unlock poor Sophie here and go upstairs for a chat. Unless you all want to stay down here in chains which, hey, I donât judge, in factâŚâ Stiles was cut off by Derek cuffing him upside the head and growling âNot another word,â
Sophie sat perfectly still as she took in the sight before her. Here was the most powerful, the most feared pack, sitting around a table drinking coffee and hot chocolate. It was bizarre.
âSo, who wants to start explaining?â Alpha Scott asked, looking at her and Kyle.
âDad itâsâŚâ
âI will, sir, if thatâs ok with youâ Sophie said, cutting Kyle off. She now had everyoneâs attention as Alpha Scott nodded for her to talk.
âWell, uh, you see. Kyle invited me to meet his family and I agreed before I knew he lived in Beacon Hills or who his family was. You guys have a certain reputation of not letting supernatural beings leave once they enter your territory. My, uh, plan was to sneak in and hypnotize you all to sleep for 24 hours with my, uh, gaze because Iâm a, uh, Yuxa. That would give me enough time to come, say hi, and then leave due to illness. I, uh, wasnât expecting there to be anyone unaffected to my, uh, charms and I definitely didnât think that sweet, human Kyle came from the Alpha family of Beacon Hills. I am very sorry for my rudeness and I promise I wasnât planning on actually hurting anyone andâŚâSophie trailed off as she noticed a few of the members shaking. Oh, God, now sheâd done it. They were going to kill her.
Sophie closed her eyes and, waited for it, when suddenly the room erupted intoâŚlaughter?
âOmg, do we really have such a scary reputation? Do people really find this fuzz puppy scary?â Stiles asked, giving Alpha Scott a nuggie.
âWell, if they heard anything about the girls, itâs no wonder they run scaredâ the man named Isaac teased.
âThe rumors probably got started because of how scary your face looks, Derâ the woman named Erica teased Beta Derek.
âWha, Waitâ Sophie was so lost...
âDonât worry about it. Crazy stuff happens here all the time. Your intentions were good. They like you,â Kyle leaned over to whisper in her ear.
âBuâŚWhat?â Sophie hissed.
âWelcome to the familyâ Kyle said with a smirk and, dear Lord, what had she gotten herself into?

It was Christmastime at the Hale house and, as Hale family dictates, each family must vote on âyearâs worst Christmas gift.â This year they have a hands down, no contest, winner. And that winner would be Stiles. Why, might you ask, would Stiles be the winner for yearâs worst Christmas gift?
Because Stiles thought that it would be a lovely idea to get Scottâs youngest child a xylophone. Thatâs right⌠A xylophone. Whatâs so bad about a xylophone, you ask? It is a musical instrument with high pitched keys that gives kids mallets that they use to bang on everything. Whether that may be the xylophone keys which are ungodly loud with the new acoustics of the Hale mansion, the kitchen cabinets that can dent, or, thatâs right, each other.
Surprisingly enough, Erica and Boyd were the first pair of the pack to get married. And unsurprisingly, it was all very spontaneous and it started with a pack trip to Vegas. It happened before Persephone and before Allison, Scott, and Isaacâs first cub, but not before Nessy. What happened was that, after Nessy, the pack fell into a period of about two months in which every waking moment was spent doing research into every myth, lore, and legend that they had ever imagined and determining whether or not they existed. Everyone had been so shocked by the Loch Ness Monsterâs existence that no one felt they would be safe until they found and understood every species on the planet.
That all changed the day that the fire nation attacked. And by fire nation, I mean Erica came in, powered by a flaming rage and told everyone to pack up their bags because they were going to Vegas. Of course, there were some initial arguments, but as soon as Erica gave a speech about how they werenât really living they spent their lives over preparing for events that would likely never occur, everyone agreed.
No one is exactly sure what happened that night, but the following morning found Erica passed out with Boyd, matching rings on their respective ring fingers, and a marriage certificate signed by every member of the pack. There was never any mention of an annulment and Erica and Boyd were never happier than they were that day.
Sheriff and Melissa
John and Melissaâs wedding was a simple, understated event. They only wanted to be surrounded by their family, friends, and love. Everything was decorated with white and silver ribbon and Melissaâs bouquet consisted of pink and white roses. Stiles was Johnâs best man, Allison was the maid of honor, and Scott gave Melissa away.
After the ceremony, which was only attended by the pack and the priest, they held a reception. The reception, held in the Johnâs backyard, was the event of the year. Every person from the sheriffâs office, the entire hospital staff, and every person whose lives had ever been touched by John or Melissa was crowded into Johnâs tiny backyard. And Melissa and John couldnât have been more pleased by the turnout.
Allison/Isaac/Scott
For Allison, Isaac, and Scott, the loss of Melody opened their eyes to all the life that they were letting slip by and how short life was. This strengthened their bonds together and they wanted someway to cement that bond between them. But a simple wedding just wouldnât suffice. They needed something that would bind all three of them together as a whole. Working with Lydia, they were able to find an old handfasting ritual that could be adapted to apply to the three of them.
For their ceremony, they stood in a triangle with Allison as the point, Scott to her left, and Isaac to her right, under an alter wrapped with lavender flowers and soft green ribbon, outlined in blue. Using the same kind of ribbon as was wrapped around their alter, Lydia started tying knots. She began with one around Allisonâs left wrist. Then she moved on to Scottâs left wrist, followed by: Isaacâs left wrist, Allisonâs right wrist, Isaacâs right wrist and, finally Scottâs right wrist. To complete the knot, She wrapped the ribbon in all three directions around the ribbons between them, and tied a bow, cementing the bond. Each knot represented the bonds between each of them as pairs, and as a whole. Each member of the pack was then instructed to test one knot per person to show that no bond was more powerful than the others and that, as a whole, they were indestructible.
Nessy/Persephone
Talk about an overstatement. Where the Sheriff and Melissaâs wedding was quiet and intimate, Nessy and Persephoneâs was loud and communal. Everyone was there, and, during planning, there was a new over the top decoration added every week. The party filled the entire rebuilt Hale mansion and there was even an ice sculpture in the parking circle.
Now, generally, if there is a wedding this over the top, you would think that it was all the bridezilla doing the orders and calling the shots. But in this case, you would be wrong. In this wedding, the bride didnât care about anything as long as she was able to marry the man of her life. No, in this wedding it was the relatives calling all of the shots as claiming that nothing would be big or perfect enough for their precious treasure. Between Lydia, who had no kids, Allison, who only had boys, and Stiles, who wanted his only childâs wedding to be perfect, the wedding planner never stood a chance.
The ceremony was beautiful, Derek and Stiles walked on either side of Seph as she walked down the aisle, the Sheriff was the man to officiate the marriage, and the entire pack, including Cora, was in attendance. Everyone cried at the ceremony and the party that ensued went on until sunrise the next morning.
Stiles/Derek
âStiles, no. Everything is perfect. It is exactly to your specifications. There is not a single flower petal out of place. It is not too over the top, nor is it too understated. It is exactly what you and Derek wanted and you do not need to go see anyone! You need to stand right there, where you are, and let me pin this Goddamn Forget-me-not to your lapel. If you do not stop fidgeting, I will tell your father that you changed your mind and you will allow him to walk you down the aisle like a fucking princess,â Lydia scolded, about to strangle Stiles.
To put it simply, until the very moment that Lydia started to officiate the marriage, Stiles was a nervous wreck. But then, as everyone took their seats and it was only him, Derek, and Lydia left under the altar, he began to relax. He took in a deep breath and he saw only the man in front of him. The same man that held him as he sobbed for mothers lost. The same man that helped him to raise a beautiful daughter. The same man that told him he loved him by first telling him that he loved pens. As Stiles thought back through all of their memories together, he remembered exactly why he was standing here to legalize this bond between them and he spoke his vows straight from his heart.
Of all of the pack weddings, this was the one that was the most touching. The one that bound the pack leaders together. Â After the ceremony, there would be a party for the pack and the following day, there would be a party for everyone else, but in that moment, everything slid into place. With this final wedding, their pack was complete and more powerful than ever.
