âI still donât know how to turn this off.â (x)
.
âUhm, excuse me, I was wondering if you can point me to where I can get something to eat? Nothing fancy, fast food would be okay. Iâm just new here and I donât know any place to go.â Marissa asked sheepishly at the stranger she talked to.
âAbsolutely, what are you in the mood for? Thereâs this great pizza place right thereâ the blue-eyed male pointed to a joint nearby, smiling. âThereâs a burger place near too. But my usual go-to places are food trucks, Top Notch is one of my favorites... itâs so good.â
For once, Spencer had the night off and just wanted to relax and kick back with a cold beer. He didnât need to be in the action on the strip, so he went to his favorite dive bar, far from where he worked. It was usually pretty quiet. A few groups of friends hanging out here and there, but it truly wasnât anything special. And when he walked in today, its was virtually empty except for the lonely bartender. He took a seat at the bar and ordered his drink being sure not to disturb the bartenders serenity. As a fellow bartender, he knew better than to strike up a meaningless conversation with the man. After a few minutes he heard the front door open and some came and slid into the seat next to him. He turned his head, âWell, I didnât realize other people actually knew about this place.â
Alexander greeted the fellow bartender on the other side of the bar with a smile, whom immediately smiled back, already making his usual drink. The bar was very different from the club where he worked, very different from everything on the Strip, still, it was all the agent had grown to love from a very young age. It was scrappy and old, yet somehow made the young man happy. Upon hearing the man talk, the blue-eyed male couldnât help but chuckle, taking his drink before saying thank you to the bartender and taking a swig before pointing at the bartender âThat man right there taught me everything I know about bartending, I tasted my first beer here about 20 years ago. Itâs a hidden gemâ he replied with a shrug and a nod.Â

âSo, I was working last night right, and this man is sitting at the bar. He flags me down and is like âLemme tell you a story.â Now, this guy is two sheets to the wind so I humor him because itâs the right thing to do. Well, turns out his roommate is apparently nuts. He was like, âMy roommate, man, he was standing on my bed and wearing my blanket like a cape when I got home from work, right? And Iâm just like, what the hell are you doing here? I lock my door for a reason. Then he jumps from my bed, to the floor like some superhero and then gets in my face, saying that I stole his socks because he had 12 pairs of socks and I only had 8 but now he only has 8 and I have 12. At this point Iâm over the shit because this isnât the first time heâs done his crap. Like, itâs always something. One time, her refolded all og my clothes while I was at work because he said that I wasnât doing it right when he was watching me.â  And honestly, Iâve been thinking about that all night. Iâm just so happy that my roommate isnât wild like that, you know? Like, could you imagine that?â
Alexander chuckled along, shaking his head at the story. âOkay, but can you truly be sure you were not talking with a sock burglar? You only heard his part of the story, for all you know, he could have taken the socksâ the pseudo bartender arched an eyebrow conspicuously. âThe part about watching him is weird though, that... I am so glad I jumped over the whole roommate thingâ the eldest granted with a laugh. âAre you the crazy roommate between you and your roommate? I feel like thereâs always a crazy roommate, according to Hollywood.â
âTrying to organise my line for New York Fashion week is beginning to become very stressfulâ The brunette murmured, as she glanced down at the photos she had in her hands, along with her sketch pad. âI still have months⌠but I really need to get working on which looks I want to show. So I can make them perfectâ It was the first time sheâd be showing at the fashion week, so she wanted it to be be perfect. It would be. She just needed to get over her perfectionist personality, and get the things done.Â
Alexander granted the other a gentle smile in return as he heard her ramble. Being in the FBI and having such a... turbulent relationship with Tino Giamatti, the agent knew who Aria was, still, he decided to keep that to himself. His feud with her father had nothing to do with the young designer, after all. âThat sounds stressful. Sorry I canât be of much help, fashion has never been a strong suit of mineâ he warned with a chuckle. âBut Fashion Week, thatâs big, right? Congratulations.â
âOh! Watch out!â Julia called down the steps of her porch as she watched the innocent pedestrian nearly trip over the tricycle that her daughter Josie had left on the sidewalk in front of the house they were currently renting. Jogging down the rickety steps, Jules grabbed the trike and smiled sheepishly. âSorry âbout that. Iâve told Josie a thousand times that she canât just be leaving her stuff out like that, âspecially for others to trip over.âÂ
Alexander chuckled t himself, looking down at the tricycle he had tripped with before moving it to a safer place, shaking his head lightly âIt was my fault for not paying attention, my head was somewhere else entirely, sorryâ he apologized, shooting the other a smile. âAt least I wasnât like, another kid or something.â
[ text ]: I woke up to a half empty bottle of cider on my dresser. I drank it and have no regrets. Morning., [ text ]: What a massive egotistical penis., Does today require people clothes or can I just wear my pyjamas?[ text ]: Iâm certain he heard me shout and LOUDLY ânap time comes before pants timeâ.[ text ]: Iâm not responding to this because I have died. Iâm dead. Dead people donât answer texts. [ text ]: Why are you saved in my phone as âPrison Wifeâ?
[ text ]: I woke up to a half empty bottle of cider on my dresser. I drank it and have no regrets. Morning.Â
[ ALEX ]: ... How did the bottle get on your dresser? Were you on your dresser when you woke up? Have you had breakfast yet? So many unanswered questions. Good morning, sleeping beauty.Â
[ text ]: Be proud of drunk me. I managed to only eat HALF of a large pizza this time.
[ ALEX ]: Is this you telling me thereâs half of a pizza left unattended and inviting me some? Because I might cry if you say yes.
[ ALEX ]: I digress. I AM proud, but whatâs wrong? You are drinking, so... whatâs wrong?

Lips pressed together in a firm line to holding the laughter, it too all of three seconds before Will lots it at the show heâd just seen. âIâm sorry, I just came to hang, man. Didnât know you were having uhâŚprivate time.â He snorted. âHey, Iâm not here to judge butâŚâ Will chuckled as he made his way to the bar, holding his stomach. âAfter a long day I kinda needed that, sorry to laugh at your expense, but Iâm also not sorry at all. So, RENT , huh? Youâre not going to ask me to duet , are you? Cause Iâll walk right back out.â
âRight, and you couldnât make yourself noticeable before having me embarrass myselfâ the pseudo bartender pointed out with a laugh, shaking his head. âHey, if it means itâll make your day even a bit better, I can try a better one. I can try some Mamma Mia for youâ he offered with a heartfelt laugh that only grew slightly at the otherâs suggestion. âCome on man, this is a duet. You could be my Joanne.â
xaurorablack:
Aurora let out a small chuckle. âWell, I guess thatâs the truth! It does make me feel a bit better, I must admit. Iâve missed it a lot, honestly. Itâs the first sort of break Iâve taken and I wouldnât even consider it to be one. Okay, Father! Iâll try and make sure that I will do that for you.â She took the bag, walking alongside him. âIt certainly is. Miley Cyrus made it far too easy.â She chuckled slightly. âHa, no thanks. Relationships are so tough for us and Claire is a one in a billion. Heâs pretty nice, I deal with him well. Donât worry, Alex. Heâs really not that bad.â
âWell enjoy it while it lasts because youâll be back at one point and you and I know itâs hard to go back after a while. Thank youâ Alexander laughed at his friendâs words, shaking his head slightly. Perhaps he could be seen as over-protective, but then again, Aurora was his closest friend. âYeah, itâs hard to have the best of both worlds. Hannah Montana lied to us all along, Roraâ he laughed as they arrived to her car, opening the door to her with a joyful smile. âYes, Claire is one in a billion and I am the luckiest man in the planet, Iâm the first person to say it, but doesnât mean you wonât get your one in a billion someday, maybe. Good, but if he ever does something to you, I will make him pay, warn him that.â

âI work with all dogs, they just make me happy.â She nodded, âNo, you didnât. I have Milo, would love another one.â
âYeah, me too. They are just so full of life and adorable, they are my favorite animal. What type of dog would you get after Milo?â
persephoneflynn:
Persephone needed a drink. Sheâd had a tough day and all she wanted was a few drinks before her shift at the strip club. She entered the open establishment, freezing as she heard the man sing. She listened for a while before clapping once he was done. âWell done! That was amazing!â
âThank you, Iâ- itâs a good songâ he replied with a chuckle, scratching the back of his neck before pointing to a stool in front of himself âSorry about that, how can I help you? We are closed but... do you need anything?â
leighlevittx:
âWhat anâ give up a free performance? Never.â Leighann let a small tsk follow her words, as if such a suggestion would be blasphemous. The redhead stood idly aside with a clipboard in hand, making little to no effort to hide her bemusement. âThough, iâm thinking I might have to give the bar a citation now. Storage of combustible materials must be maintained in an orderly fashion, away from flame-producing appliances, and at least 18-inches below the fire sprinklers. Anâ well youâre practically on fire and hanging out maxinâ relaxing all cool near a decent amount of liquor. Thus, a fire hazard.â A steady nod followed, as if to insinuate she was being genuine despite otherwise merely trying to make a joke.Â
Alexander frowned lightly, looking around XS, trying to find the hazard the other was referring to before finally noticing the joke, letting out a full-on laugh, shaking his head in response. âI panicked for a minute there, my boss would kill me if I ever let anything like it happen to this place and I pretty much like being aliveâ the bartender replied with a chuckle, scratching the back of his neck with an apologetic and timid smile, pointing towards the stool in front of him âHave you been standing there for a while? Should I expect a video of my obviously amazing performance on Youtube soon?â he inquired, chuckling.

laylamargot:
Layla chuckled quietly at his joke. While she found most of Angelicaâs requests reasonable, no matter how strange they seemed at first, she realized, even as her assistant, that couldnât be the case with everyone. âWhat was the most uncomfortable thing she told you to do? Or, top 3, if you canât decide.â The blonde let out an awkward laugh. âThanks, youâre sweet but that wonât be necessary. I was just checking. But hey⌠Same goes for you, honey.â
On their way to the restrooms, she made a quick stop at the elevated station where the DJ usually worked and called out. âIâll put on some music, do you like the Black Keys?â
Alexander considered the blondeâs question for a brief moment, chuckling to himself. âI had to go to her house at like, 4 am because she heard a noise and she thought there were burglars. It was one of her maidens and her driver. One time she made me lock someone in the broom closetâ he confessed with an embarrassed chuckle. âBut you, you were her assistant, right? You must have storiesâ he rose a brow before smiling back at the other. âThank you, thatâs very nice of you but Iâm fine, itâs not necessary, but Iâll keep it in mindâ he replied with a smile before shrugging lightly. âIâm not sure if Iâve heard of them but Iâm willing to learn a thing or two about music so, hit me with your best shot.â
beccasingh:
âIt might be slightly unhealthy to get attached to a corpse, but itâs not hard to know people who have, simply because itâs very hard not to get attached to someone who has suddenly ended up on your table. Trust me, I constantly wish I had the answers for them and when I donât, itâs incredibly frustrating. Itâs probably one of the reasons my nickname is Morticia, because I usually end up feeling bad for those people whereas some other people only look at them and see corpses,â maybe it was a part of her moral conduct that kept her from being something other than that, but Rebecca didnât really care. In fact, she thought it was a good thing on her part to feel bad over those who had no one to feel sad over them. There was also the fact that she was almost one of them, once upon a time and she wondered if her family would have been able to identify her at all after that maniac was done with her. Her peers constantly warned her of the dangers in getting too close, getting too attached, but at this point, her nightmares were often confused with the nightmares of others and she thought that it was just the way it would go. There was really no turning back. âIt was hard for him, yes. He did love his job at the FBI, but when my brother started in the military, he saw no way other than actually coming back home. My mother would be alone in a few years, because I moved states to go to college and medical schoolâ we donât balance him out, we drive him crazy,â she laughed, âitâs two women louder than loud stuck in a house with one man. He was a minority there and he often spent more time at the precinct than he did at home. Iâm glad he is retiring now though, more often than not itâs normal to see a casualty around here when it comes to police officers.â It was unseen for a police officer to have such a long run as her father did, she just so happened to expect the same for her friends in the force. When he spoke of her family, Rebecca was left with a small smile on her lips. âOh, I miss them, but I moved here when I was only four years old, so, I think I wouldnât grow used if I went back to India,â she told him. The whole idea of living back home with her entire family was out of this world. âOf course she is going to worry. Itâs basically what women do best of all, but itâs nice to have someone worrying for you. Me? Noâ Just my beagle, he is probably scratching the door waiting for me to come home, but itâs only me and thousands of locks.âÂ
âItâs not a bad thing. Itâ takes a lot of heart to do what you do and I think itâs admirable to say the least. Itâs just... hard, I guess, it must be hard on youâ he sighed deeply, chewing his inner cheek. Morale vs Reason, Human vs. Monster, Sanity vs. Humanity. Sometimes it wasnât an easy choice and it was endearing encountering someone who shared his values, but it was also unsettling when those values affected her well-being. Yet, he wasnât one to talk. It came with the badge/the desire of being in the field, probably. Or perhaps it had to do more with who they were as individuals or their backgrounds. He still couldnât help but worry about the other, even if he didnât muster it. It was one of the things he did best, after all. The agent then nodded along with the brunetteâs story, granting her a gentle smile every now and then. âWell sounds to me like he made the right call if heâs really happy and I canât imagine what your mom felt when she found out her two kids were going away, one to military nonetheless. And yeah, I know. Sometimes going to the field feels like you are playing Russian roulette somehow, but your dad did fine and he is ready to move on to the next adventure, maybe before you know it heâll be playing golf all dayâ the agent added jokingly. âUnderstandable. No matter how much help youâd get from your family, it would still be harsh to unlearn everything you learnt here.â Alexander beamed then, shrugging lightly. âIt is, but I wish she didnât have to. Itâs just too much sometimes, saying goodbye in the morning and seeing that... look in her face because of the risk. Sheâs been through enough, sometimes I wish things were differentâ he rambled on before taking a sip of his drink, putting that thought to rest. âAnyway, you have a beagle? Thatâs adorable. How old is he and why are you here with me instead of playing with him?â
