“— All I can think about is– is the fact I couldn’t save him. And the blood. There was— there was so much blood, Alexander. I feel like he wasn’t the only one to die that night because that’s how I feel right now– dead.” she took a step back from him, hands shaking. “How much time do you think I have to grieve over him before I lose somebody else? I give it a week. Hopefully I’m the next one to go, god knows he’ll be doing me a favour.

“You can’t do that to yourself! You can’t put that sort of blame all on you. Trust me, that’s not how he would’ve wanted you to think.” As she took a step back, he took a step forward. “You can’t think like that. You can’t say that. You have your son.. and your family--- and you have me. Please Jasmine, you can’t--- I love you so much, and can’t see you like this. I know it doesn’t seem like it but slowly the pain goes away. Slowly when you think about him, instead of crying, you’ll smile. Trust me, it’s going to be okay.”

“Someone sweet and kind. You always know the right thing to say and.. Frankly, your eyes feel like they’re staring into my soul and it’s really hot.”

“In that way I’m lucky to have her too. And I’m also really lucky to have you. Who else would boost my ego?”

Instantly, she pulled away from the male and glared up at him with eyes that once held so much light, now gone. “—- It’s going to be okay? I really wish people would stop saying that. Nothing is going to be okay, Alexander. How fucking delusional are you?”

As he looked at her, he didn’t really look at her. Those chocolate brown eyes that he was so familiar with were now something completely different. “Delusional? I’m being practical. You have a time to grieve but then you have to remember him and smile at the memories, because now he lives in them. You’re hurt and angry and guilty, but none of that is going to help you. Please... I know what you’re going through, Jasmine. You have to realize.”

“You remember the memories, smile and move on.”
