this is my paris master list that i give to my american, english, aussie & canadian friends. i’ll be making a youtube video on the topic soon but until then here it is. all the things you will like as an american visiting paris.
paris master list
to eat
dinard by ferdi - this is the best burger i’ve had in my life. go to the dinard location by champs elysee because it’s never too crowded
dumbo- the best burger in a different way. take away and delivery only. it’s in pigalle near montmartre. get it on your way home or to eat in the garden of heartbreak. absolutely fire.
yorgaki- greek but paris style. i can’t stress how good the food is here. fresh & delicious. on a very local french street. no tourists go here. staff is lovely.
cafe mericourt - really good when you want a hardly LA/ Aussie style breakfast. it’s in the 11th close enough to the marais & l’arrosio flower shop.
season- in the middle of the marais on my favorite street in paris. very la food. it will keep you sane after tons of french food.
loup- bistro vibe but really good chicken and sides & spritz. not mind blowing but good when you want simple or have fussy eaters
pink mamma- jon & vinnys of paris
uber mamma- jon & vinnys of paris on the other end of town. a bit easier to get in.
carboni - just make a res & go. it’s beautiful, simple & the food and wine is good
cafe flore- the most famous cafe in paris. expensive for what it is but it’s the experience. ask for a table facing the street. i like the club sandwich, berries & cream & an aperol spritz. stays open until around 2am if you want a late night treat.
l’avenue - best cheesecake ever. rest of the menu is good but a bit of a wash & v pricy. it’s a good vibe and a classic spot to visit. if you’re on a trip to buy a chanel bag, have lunch here & cheeky dinner at dinard. the place you’d take your mom for lunch.
gigi- so special, one of the best views in the city, food is good and restaurant is beautiful. one of my absolute favs.
girafe- see if you can get a reservation in the suite because the view is insane but any res is solid. very seafood heavy. right in front of the eiffle tower.
la palette- you don’t go here for the food. you go for the people watching and the history of it all.
march aux enfant rouge- amazing food market with just about everything. best place to come after vintage shopping on a sunday in the marais
ralph’s- beautiful restaurant with a solid burger and immaculate vibes
hotel costes - full of hookers but last time i came here i sat next to andrew garfield so idk. too many LA people hang out here
to drink
little red door- super fun & cute bar. they’ll force you to sit in a circle of other english speakers
frenchie- really cute wine bar
le progres- cafe but it’s my favorite place to grab a spritz on a sunday afternoon after visiting le march aux enfant rouge
i usually get drunk at soho house lol
also any bistro more or less will have an amazing spritz. pop in and hope for the best
coffee
if you want an iced late you need to go to cafe kitsune or wild & the moon. io in the marais is fine. these are the closets to la. shakespeare & co if you’re in the area and you must but hit or miss. finding good coffee shops is hard in paris or at least what americans are used to
to shop
red wheelbarrow- my favorite english bookstore in paris. the woman who owns it is an angel
start at nuovo & make your way down
nuovo
130 rue de turenne
two shops next to nuovov as well
left is expensive
right is not
chez snow bunny - vintage designer, well curated
book store near snow bunny is my favorite shop in all of paris
broken arm is expensive but if your man wantsreally really nice and unique stuff it’s worth a view. solomon shoes are the thing in paris rn and they sell them
close to those is a coffee shop called i.o, get it to go and enjoy it in the park across the street. the orchestra practices on sundays
(these shops are by the cafe i told you about and the food market)
make your way down to
episode - very good
retro - hit or miss
killawats - hit or miss
kilostore - everything is sold by weight
not thrifting but my fav store is rouje. it’s like french reformation. if you buy online in the US it’s an insane import tax. i promise you’ll like it.
le bon marche is a department store and full of amazing french brands. they have everything.
high end designers are in the 1st by tuileries & ave montaigne
chanel is running out of everything because the euro is so week rn. pro tip is to go to printemps. it’s less of the experience but more options
the new dior store is absolutely amazing. there is one on montaigne but a new one on champs. be warned there is usually a long line
to do
walk around jardin des tuileries & jardin des luxembourg
musee de l'orangerie- the monet water lily rooms. absolutely amazing & usually have an impressionism exhibition below. must see. only takes an 1.5h max
musee d’orsay- all i care about is the top floor impressionism. my fav.
louvre- i say skip it unless you really really want to see the mona lisa. not my favorite
musee picasso- one of my more favorite picasso museums in the world. really does a good job of sharing the history of his life. he’s the worst but whatever
larrosior- this is the oldest flower shop in paris. my friend adrienne owns it. i met her at a party in la years ago and she is absolutely wonderful. she met her soon to be husband on a trip to france, they fell in love. she moved to paris. she is now the ultimate american flower girl in paris. it’s a really special place. she teaches floral arrangement classes as well. if you ask her for instagram flowers for pictures, she’ll make it happen.
Native American children running Date: ca. 1925 Photographer: Edward S. Curtis Negative Number 161082 We have Hopi, Arizona as the location, but it would not be a surprise if that were completely an error…

hello old friend,
I’m not sure if anyone is still here. I’ve missed it. I’m working on a few new hopefully big in the future projects. I need a place to put my mood board. let me know what you like. what you hate. what speaks to you. what you want to see. what you want to buy. I’m trying to put things out in the world that can be of use.
also, hi! I’ve missed you

how to deal with the most important people in your life dropping you. I feel like I've always been a good friend but lately everything is slipping away
we out grow people in life. sometimes it feels they’re slipping away. usually its just you growing into the person you’re meant to be.
