Change My Mind

On November 14th, my Mexican friends and I cooked Mexican food for the first time here in Dublin for our Brazilian friend. We cooked enchiladas. That is a dish with chilli, cheese, tortillas,  onion, and guacamole which is a traditional snack. It has avocado, chilli, onion and tomato. You chopped and mixed everything together. It is very easy to make because you don’t need an oven or you don’t have to boil anything, only chop. The enchilada dish is a little more difficult because you have to make the salsa and you need more time. However we bought a very spicy chilli for the enchiladas and it was too strong even for us who love eating spicy food. Maybe now we don’t have the same taste buds that we did in Mexico. Now it is more difficult to eat spicy food.

I don’t really like Justin Bieber’s music but now I think that is a little more mature  and I really enjoy his new songs, but I really like this song. maybe is because i feel that now the songs have more heart

Violet, Downton Abbey

The new James Bond movie is out in the cinema now and I think it is fabulous. All the clothes and the locations are fantastic and of course the movie starts in Mexico City on the Day of the Dead, as well as Austria, London and Italy. Also now finally that the last three movies have something in common, because no we know the son of the man the helped Bond when his parents died is really bad character. The soundtrack is also amazing. The last movie featured Adele. Now is is the turn of Sam Smith´s The Writing is on the Wall. For me, the best part is that finally Bond found the love and she didn´t die, like in the all the movies that went before.

The first time that I studied tattoos was here in Dublin because one of my friends wanted get a tattoo. We were walking on the streets and I said I wanted to get a tattoo and she answered me, me too, but I was joking, but  she  took me seriously. I thought that was a joke but we went to the shop and she made an appointment . I couldn’t believe it. She told me that this was the first time that she was out of Brazil and she wanted to remember it forever. So she tattooed Dublin on her back. And now other friend had a tattoo in the same studio, the same tattooist and same mean but a little different word she had “Èire” the mean Ireland in Irish. Now I thinking that if some else ask me if I can come to him to get a tattoo I’m going to get one for me, because three is much awareness.

On Halloween´s night, my friends and i decided to paint our faces only and go to The Living Room pub. On the way to the city we had to take the bus and the people we looking us weird because were a little early for costumes. First, we went to Starbucks for bread and to finish the make-up. Then when we went to the pub but everybody was watching the final of the Rugby World Cup, between New Zealand and Australia. Therefore, we went to Temper bar street to see more people with costumes. At first, it was a little quiet but after 8 p.m. the street began to look like a night club. Everyone was drinking and talking with other people. Also there was a lot of music because at night in Temple bar people play music. We saw two police men but we didn´t know if they were real police or whether they were wearing costumes because they took photos with people, but looked real. After speaking with different peoples and looking at all the great costumes, we went back home and one of my friends is my neighbour. Before we went home, we went to a pub near of our houses. However the pub had a party for old people, then we realised that the night was finished.

In my fourth month here I went to London with my friends and I have to say one thing London is overv-rated. Yes, it is a nice city but is not as amazing as I expected and it is very expensive and the food is not good. We were in London only for two days the first day we arrived in London at 7am so we had all the day we walked all the way along the River Thames. We saw a lot in only two days. It was hard but very funny. We also met a man from Prague. He helped us in the train and gave us a map. We went to the London Eye at night so that was fantastic with all the lights. This and Big Ben were my favourite things. And we were too in a cruise thought the river very good, we really enjoy it.  But the second day was raining all the day, and not was like here in Dublin that rain one hours and stop and then start again, there was different all day long. In the end of the last day we were in bites, die, the first day we walked 30KM and the second day 23KM. I think that I can live in London just one year or maybe two but not more because the architected is great the mix of modern with old and the people is nice to very kind but not the weather and the food.     20/10/2015

One of my favourite bands is One Direction when I was 15 I was a “Directioner”, I actually learned more English for their songs but then growing up and I gave up on them. I still listen to their music but only like other band, until the last week one of my flatmates asked me if I want go with them, and the little Directioner that live inside me said of course to the next day I had the tickets. We arrived to the concert like 6:30. We took our seats and we wait around two hours to the concert begin to first sang Jaime Lawson I didn’t know who was him until the day of the concert. The concert started after 8:30 they sang for maybe 2 and half hours was a really nice. I was singing but wasn’t amazing because I don’t undented why the people here were not exceeder they never stand up, the people always were sit. Was so frustrate  and then now I know that my English is better because before I used to not understand what Liam and Louis said but now I can.    17/10/2015

I'd never watched rugby before coming here to Ireland, and now I think it is a really funny and burly and little wild sport, because everybody plays without protection. The players are very brave and huge.  Although sometimes I still don't understand the rules I'm learning a lot, for Irish people rugby is like football for Mexicans. When Ireland play the world stops here. The other day I was watching the game Japan Vs Scotland, everybody knew that Scotland would win but I think that Japan have a good team and did their best but they lost. I don’t think that Mexico will ever have a team.  Well this Sunday was the game Ireland vs. Romania and I felt like it was the final because everybody was so excited before to the match started. I took a bus and I think that the bus driver wanted to watch the game too because he was driving like fast and furious, (ah Ireland won) so everybody was happy. I really want to see the final of this world cup.

If you are student maybe you know that trying to find a house or flat here in Dublin is the most difficult thing to do here, and is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, and more if you want a single room. It’s worse if you are here for less than 10 months, because most agencies only rent for 1 year, and I don’t know what problem people have here but nobody replies to emails. You have to wait three days and you are competing with other 20 people. I was looking for a house for 2 and half months. For me, it was very difficult to find a place because the first time that I was looking, I didn´t know how to write an email for it, and I didn’t know what I even needed for rent a flat. My host family was pressuring me to make a decision, and I didn’t want stay with the family because I felt uncomfortable living with them. So after all this time I found a house a little nearer to the school with an Irish woman and her daughter and another Swiss girl the same age as me. It was perfect and feel very happy. I am still wondering why Dublin has this problem but I think that nobody knows and I know that a lot of people here live with other 8 or 16 in the same house with only 3 bathrooms, which is not the best situation.
