Iâm writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which Iâll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past Iâve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now. Â I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. I believe in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG. I believe that the systemic racism we still see in this country towards people of color is terrifying, sickening and prevalent.
I cannot vote for someone who will not be willing to fight for dignity for ALL Americans, no matter their skin color, gender or who they love. Â Running for Senate in the state of Tennessee is a woman named Marsha Blackburn. As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives. Â Please, please educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values. For a lot of us, we may never find a candidate or party with whom we agree 100% on every issue, but we have to vote anyway.
So many intelligent, thoughtful, self-possessed people have turned 18 in the past two years and now have the right and privilege to make their vote count. But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN. Go to vote.org and you can find all the info. Happy Voting! đłđđ
I havenât been on here in sooo long but I wanted to thank you. @taylorswift thank you for posting your views and always being a great person for me to look up to. Iâm 19 now and super busy with school so I havenât had much time to post on here but just know that even if I donât post a lot, I will always admire you and look up to you for who you are. Our world is in a crazy place right now and youâve given me so much hope that our world will start to be better and more accepting soon. Iâll always love and appreciate you so much and Iâm thankful that I idolized someone like you. @taylorswift Thank you for being you and Iâll love you forever.Â
Hey guys! I know that everyone sees posts like this in their timeline every day that are trying to get Taylorâs attention but I really do have a story to tell so hear me out :). Ever since I heard Love Story for the first time, Iâve been a huge Taylor Swift fan. Iâve always admired her music, but mainly her personality and kindness. I attended the Speak Now tour twice and went to the Raleigh and Greensboro dates. I attended three Red Tour dates which were Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro. I attended four 1989 dates which were Charlotte, Raleigh, Tampa, and Greensboro. Iâve been a dedicated fan for a long time now and wanted to share my story.Â
I was on Taylor Connect when it was more popular and absolutely loved getting to know people on there. Once Taylor Connect started dying down, I started a Twitter fan account which was called Swiftly_Swift (I apologize for the cringy user) and absolutely loved every minute of it. There were so many genuine, kind people on that website. I made my Twitter account for Taylor in December of 2011. I started an Instagram shortly after that called preshswift that gained a lot of traction and had about 15k when it ended. I posted daily edits and loved every minute of it. I made so many close friends and really loved interacting with people that shared the same love for Taylor. During the summer of 2013, I was devoted towards meeting Taylor. I entered contests across the country and had absolutely no luck. I finally found one in my local area that ended on my birthday!!! It was fate. I entered the contest and ended up winning. I could NOT believe that I was finally going to be able to meet my idol. Taylor, if youâre reading this. Thank you for being so kind to me. My 14-year-old self-was so appreciative of that moment and I still am today. Thank you for being so kind and this is the full story of meeting her (x). She even called me a âcute little thingâ which was just adorable.Â
I continued making edits for Taylor. However, I actually deleted my preshswift Instagram due to the amount of hate I got after meeting her. I really enjoyed it but people were just so harsh. I restarted my Instagram as preshtaylor and also started understanding Tumblr more. My Instagram photo was actually one of the very first ones she ever liked (x) and of course, it had a typo fml. That was one of the coolest things ever because I absolutely never expected her to even see that post and everyone in the fandom FREAKED out. She also liked this selfie later on (x). That caption stated
âhey Taylor, my name is Lauren and Iâm such a huge fan of yours. I had the chance to meet you in 2013 and I canât ever thank you enough for that day and for making me feel so special. I hope I get to hug you again sometime. I just love you so so much and I really hope you see this and know how much I love you. Thank you for making my life wonderful.â
That caption still rings true to this day. Even with having met Taylor once, it was five years ago. Iâve changed SO much and I would love to get a chance to hug her again, have a real conversation with her, and get a photo where we arenât crying.Â
I used tumblr even more and Taylor followed me in 2014 and she liked my posts a pretty decent amount. She liked selfies, pics with my cat, text posts, and even a post with just the word âFUCKâ. Yes, that happened.Â
I always believed in trying to get others noticed rather than myself. I thought it was important to help other people achieve their dreams. I began making collages. My first one was for the release of 1989 and she even tweeted this:
http://album1989.tumblr.com/post/101628132474/hey-taylorswift-this-is-a-collage-of-about-150
I also made one for her birthday:
http://album1989.tumblr.com/post/105148182634/jamie-sa-album1989-hey-taylor-i-hope-you
Although these collages were so hard to organize and took hours, it gave me the chance to get 150-200+ people noticed at one time which made me really happy. I havenât been as active on here recently mainly because college has been extremely busy but @taylorswift just know that me being on here not as much will never make me less of a fan of yours and I will appreciate you and everything youâve done for me for the rest of my life. I am unfortunately unable to attend the Reputation tour because there isnât an NC show, a lot of the closer dates donât work for me, and flying isnât much of an option right now but I know this tour will be killer and I hope Iâm able to go somehow.Â
I just wanted to take the time to share my story and thank you for everything youâve done for you. I hope weâre able to take another photo together someday. Love you, @taylorswift .Â

i just had this dream where taylor liked and reblogged my post saying âahhh!â and i couldnât believe it so i unlocked my phone but couldnât find it anywhere. then all of the sudden there was this cartoon version of me that unlocked a big wooden door in this tunnel and then i found the postâŚit was wild.

I also made one for her birthday:
