Truthfully, it may not have been a necessary class for her, given she’d had one successful summon once before. Granted, she’d misjudged the time so her mana hadn’t been at its peak at all. A posthumous prank from her father had been the cause of it, but she supposed it had worked out alright in the end. 

Even so, there was always more she could learn, and perhaps having a familiar wouldn’t be a bad thing. She had to admit, it was at least easier to fight knowing you had a partner. 

Still, familiarizing herself with the school was a priority, especially upon learning the hallways were quite mischievous. So she’d taken a bit of time to learn the routes to her classes, so she wouldn’t be caught off guard if she were to be caught up in one of those changes. 

But nothing could have prepared her for the face of the professor. It was all too familiar to her. She didn’t think she could forget it, even if she wanted to. The memory had been engraved into her brain, even after all this time. But perhaps she was mistaken–after all, his appearance was vastly different from the last time she’d encountered him.

What an amusing turn of events! Indeed, the face of the female that stands before him is a familiar one he did not think he would chance upon during his time in this land. Except, there seems to be something different about the look on her face and something incredibly lacking about the aura that now surrounds her.

Her eyes ( now an aquatic blue and not crimson like his own )  -- why do they not dance with the usual pride and mischief Gilgamesh has always made fun of? He did not think it was possible for the goddess Ishtar to ever let her arrogance completely slip away from her, especially not around the king. It could be that she finally learned her place, realizing how much more superior he is now that she has become one of his students ( and one of his subjects ). But unfortunately, such a comically ideal situation couldn’t be the case.

As a matter of fact, this might not even be the goddess Ishtar he knows. After all, the female in front of him is, for some reason, without any divinity. Not even a trace of it or a sign that it has been stolen from her. As a demigod with divinity of his own, that is something he can pick up on easily.

----Yes, he is quite sure of it now. This is not Ishtar. This is a mere mortal, a mere mongrel, who only looks like the insignificant goddess. And perhaps she is who Ishtar had been referring to when the goddess boasted about the new body she possessed. If that is the case, it is all the more amusing to have the opportunity to meet this girl. He wonders how alike they would be, though he quickly decides it would be more entertaining to simply test out her reaction.

“Hmm…” She’d taken it upon herself to search the school for any sign of Shiro or Kuroh, but so far she hadn’t had any luck. Still, checking with each teacher to see if they had any students that matched her description of her two friends seemed like a good idea.

However…she’d gotten distracted, as cats often do, by this teacher’s manner of speaking. He definitely had a sort of imposing air around him, calling himself a king. But if he was a king, did that mean he had a clan? She didn’t recall his face among the kings she knew, however. 

So he cackles ( it is a loud booming sound ) at the absurdity this woman dares to utter. "Foolish girl, these clans you speak of obviously have nothing to do with me. I am the true king. Another king like I does not exist." And what audacity she has, assuming that there is a gold king other than him. That she would even call him a replacement is all the more insulting.

To her surprise, she was not the only servant here–which that alone would tell her that a grail war would be happening under any other circumstances…but there were no masters here. To think whatever force controlled this school could even summon servants and sustain them…well, she wasn’t going to think too hard about it. While she loved fighting, the life of a student was a new experience. 

Perhaps she shouldn’t have been surprised that one of them had been chosen as a teacher. Something about him seemed familiar, recalling a certain golden archer when she’d been forced to right her mistakes with Okita. A different class manifestation, she supposed? She certainly knew of another king that had quite a few.

All things considered, she figured it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to introduce herself. Different version of the same servant or not, it would certainly be wise to familiarize herself with potential allies in any situation. 

“Greetings! Caster, is it? Ahh, or would you prefer to be called Your Majesty?” She trailed off for a moment, rubbing her chin in thought. “In any case, though I am not in your class, I thought it would be beneficial to introduce myself.” Not that she had ever turned down that opportunity before.

Nonetheless, it would be unbecoming of Gilgamesh if he were to lose his temper like an undeserving child. That is what he has learned through his path of becoming a true king.

Besides, there is a much more entertaining thought he must take into consideration. It would seem that although one Servant after another has been summoned to this land, he can easily foretell ( even without his skill of clairvoyance ) that a Holy Grail War will still refuse to begin. So what then, he ponders, is the point of them being here? What strange fate must he face? ---- Alas! He will have to save these thoughts for later. He must address this mongrel who dares to merely suggest that she refers to him with a title he rightfully deserves.

The war he’s lived through has taught Slaine to seek out any possible advantage, that a single seemingly-insignificant step could mean the difference between life and death. A magic school might not exactly be a war, but Slaine can’t shake the paranoia he’s learned, and he can’t understand more than anything why he is even here in the first place.

Now, he definitely doesn’t trust the staff. But he can learn from them without trusting them - Count Saazbaum had taught him that, before he’d passed on his title. And he can learn more from seven subjects than six, so even though he has a full course load, he seeks out a certain professor during office hours. He’s heard this particular professor can be a bit… interesting, but he’s certain he can handle him. He puts on his student airs and knocks on the open door.

His attention is brought towards the sound of a knock on the door followed by the presence of a student. He decides they must certainly be a mongrel for interrupting his train of thought, for addressing him as only half of what Gilgamesh is, and for requesting the king’s knowledge without even identifying who they are. So when he addresses them, he is as condescending as he could be despite the compliment or two he offers them.

Well there was one thing they needed to discuss, though he was hoping to avoid the topic all together.

Of course that was easier said than done, seeing as he was mulling over his own thoughts; he wasn’t quite aware of his surroundings, nor the distance between him, and the other male. Archer only coming to a stop when he felt something rather solid block his path, not having realized that he had indeed walked into the blonde, literally.

“Well damn…” he grumbles, taking an instinctive step back.

Passing the time -- it’s exactly what the king had been doing since his latest indulgence failed to keep him occupied for the whole day.It’s what he should’ve still been doing without any interruptions if it weren’t for the foolish mongrel who Gilgamesh decides must be a complete idiot if they can’t even watch where they’re going. “Listen, you damn fool...” he huffs, fully intending to lecture the other. Except when he raises his eye level to meet the fool’s, he finds himself pausing to examine the other.

There’s something annoying about their presence, something irritating about the way Gilgamesh must acknowledge that this person exists somewhere in memories of his from another time, another place. He squints. “Hm...” Well, that time and place doesn’t seem to have anything to do with who he is as Caster so he has no reason to dwell on those memories.

You don’t think of anyone but yourself.

Admit it, you’re scared aren’t you?
