The hair ruffle was a gesture he had picked up from the Kamado siblings. He had noticed how the small one's face would light up with glee when her head was pat, and he figured it was a common trait to all human children. A good way to show praise and affection.

"Of course I made it back safely! I'm the unbeatable King of the Mountain!" Inosuke huffed, chest puffed out in pride. "I don't need any rest, but I'll take that tempura! It tastes best when it's freshly fried!"

He stifled a laugh behind his hand. He had always admired Inosuke's confidence, but he suppose it was warranted — raised by boars, a fighter from the start, and had been constantly victorious no matter the struggle he went through.
