My piece for the @dr-ultimate-vacation-zine! This has been waiting to be posted for awhile now and I’m SO happy to share it at long last (it’s been even longer since I forgot about it in my drafts instead of posting it when I first was able to. Oops).

This was technically the first zine piece I ever made (I finished it in November of last year-) and seeing this zine release finally is such a proud moment. There’s something very satisfying of it finally being out.

I do like Akanidai a lot! If I may gush about their compatibility with Fuyupeko for a second:

I think Akane and Fuyuhiko have a very good sibling dynamic. Akane would see Fuyuhiko as one of her younger siblings. Fuyuhiko will see himself in Akane regarding not showing weakness to anyone (as evident in the convo where Fuyuhiko telling Akane she has to be more honest with her feelings). I believe Fuyuhiko and Natsumi’s relationship was also plagued with miscommunications in the light novel so in a way Akane is similar to Natsumi. They’re trauma bonding.

Nekomaru and Peko has been on my mind a lot because of the trivia that Fuyuhiko and Nekomaru switched designs midway thru productions. So there’s a beta design of Fuyuhiko as SHSL Team Manager. So I made an entire AU if Nekomaru and Fuyuhiko stayed as their initial roles. Nekomaru was born a yakuza, and thank to his big stature he never felt the need to overcompensate. So he’s much more confident in the role and trained from a young age to be as strong as his subordinates. He trained a lot with Peko, proving to Peko he doesn’t need to be protected all the time. Peko is a little more lax with Nekomaru. Those two would have a more brothers in arms kind of relationship. On the flip side, Fuyuhiko is good at sports but no one wanted him as a player because of his size. So he decided to support from the sidelines and become the ultimate team manager. He still needs to be loud and abrasive because no one takes him seriously but damn does he brings results.

Also Nekomaru seems to think a lot about Fuyuhiko and Peko in the main game so I appreciate Nekomaru.
