in my feelings

work. he should’ve known she had a job. sometimes he forgets other people don’t have as free of a job and income as he does. he’s his own boss, he doesn’t have to go to work if he doesn’t want to. and right now he definitely doesn’t want to. “sucks to suck.” he’s teasing her. a goofy grin on his face. “uh no, it’s like owned by someone not the city, so they like make profit off of it usually by charging for entry, there’s normally other stuff there like water slides and pools and a restaurant with cabana boys. 

adventure? indica didn’t know if she’d call it that, but it sure did give her quite the scare. she figured if she survived that she’d pretty much be considered a pro now. “yeah, i kinda froze for a quick second in the beginning when i first saw what was happening but then i like went on auto pilot it was so weird.” she laughs. “she’s two.”

he shrugs. “m’not sure.” a pause. “maybe he’s just here to be nosy?” there’s nothing blu would have to hide so, well, besides the fact that aly has returned. “yeah maybe we should hurry up and turn off all the lights, pretend we aren’t here.” he hopes that’ll do the trick.

“out of all things hazel, you came up with…dying my hair ?” he shakes his head. “think about how many celebrities change their hair color all the time, they’re still gunna know it’s me.” he chuckles. “doubt it, but, we don’t have any better ideas right now so.”

addison nodded, feeling a sense of relief that she’d been constantly changing and checking her application. at least someone could validate her obsession with having a perfect application. “i never even thought of that,” addison said, adding a ‘personal statement’ to her reminders on her phone. “i don’t know. it’s too close to home?” that was what she had been trying to convince herself after all. “i really want to go ivy league. i think that’s my best bet for getting into law school.” she knew her family had to be tired of hearing the words ivy league come out of addison’s mouth. it was really the only thing keeping her going since everything fell apart in her family though. 

mali’s actually thinking about it. “uh, to be completely honest?” a pause. yep, she’s sure, now proceed. “i have no idea, but, that’s besides the point.” she smiles. “there’s three of em, i recommend watching.” a nod. “ever watched truman show? fucking love that movie.”

“did  ya  know  they  have  all  the  of  the  matrix  movies  on  netflix?”  a  goofy  smile.  “guess  who’s  been  up  watching  them  all  night?”

“y'know,  i  understand  that  this  is  CALIFORNIA  –  warm  all  year  round,”  that  seems  more  like  a  lie  every  single  day  the  temperature  continues  to  drop,  "’m  just  waiting  for  when  it  gets  back  to  the  eighties.  like.  that’s  the  supreme  time,  you  know?  it’s  the  best  season  -  everyone  is  happy  ..  not  everyone,  but  like,  most  people,  and  all  the  fun  stuff  is  readily  available  -  though  taken  over  by  tourists  i  guess.“  a  shrug.  he’s  not  sure  where  he’s  going  with  this.  "y'think  i  could  book  a  vacation  somewhere  that  has  that  weather  now?  might  be  fun  to  play  tourist  for  a  few  days  –  where  has  the  best  weather  for  this  time'a  year?”  do  they  know?  probably  not,  but.

As per usual, the weather in LA was nice and hot. Reina typically preferred cold weather but summer came in at a close second. She had decided to take a break from her sketching, having lost muse in trying to create the perfect skirt for a dress she was working on, she was on her way out the front door when she nearly bumped into someone standing in right in front of her. “Shit! You scared the crap outta me!” she exclaimed in surprise with a hand to her chest. 

hazel moved slightly out of the way as reina almost ran right into her. “ah, sorry.” she said. “that’s what happens when I don’t pay attention to where i”m going.” she said, rocking back and forth on her heels. “I really just came to drop this off.” she said, holding out two envelopes. “some of your family ended up in our mailbox.” she said. “figured you might want it.” 

they’d  just  lost  their  big  game  and  belaire  was  moody  to  say  the  least.  it  was  the  game  they  needed  to  win  to  go  to  the  championships.  he  was  outside,  sitting  in  his  new  mercedes,  sulking  as  usual.  he  could  hear  footsteps  approaching.  “this  better  be  good.”  he  grumbled.

“not disappointed.” he pauses. “more like, unprepared?” a shrug. “m’not sure, that’s the problem.”

he smiles. a conversation he can get behind, thank god for hazel. she just unknowingly took his mind off of the letter, even for a moment, that was relief. “ah the good ole internal debate about tatoos.” he had many, a half sleeve on his left arm. “wanna know something?” he shows her his tatoos that are visible. “when you have tattoos they become a part of you, you forget that they’re there sometimes, it’s still your skin just with a drawing y’know? it’s not gunna matter to you whether you gotta cover it up at work or not, it’ll still be with you, and the ones you get in hidden spots are gunna be forgotten as much as the ones you can see every day no matter what you put on.” he winks, it’s good advice he thinks, she should just go ahead and get one. “raphael is a tattoo artist, i could set you up with him, yeah? he could do some stencils on you, so you can see what it’d look like.” him and raphi are pretty close, they’ve known each other since he was in diapers. back the paper huh? damn. things were just getting interesting. “uh, nah. it’s just an acceptance letter for a job i applied for, nothing major, i don’t really wanna dwell on it.”

a smirk. 25k? this girl didn’t know any better, it wasn’t like she could read kota’s mind and know she was speaking about her own mother. the petrova’s were loaded, always have been, always will be, and she knows if she plays her cards right, she’ll get a shit ton more than a measly 25k. “wouldn’t you like to know?” she winks. “anyways, if i were, it’d be worth way more than 25k.” 

“come on, buddy. you gotta work with me, we’ve been here for thirty minutes already,” he pleaded with the big dog. the sound of steps made him look up. “hey. any tricks on getting a stubborn dog to hurry with his business?”

“hm, maybe he’s like shy or something. private tree maybe?” she shrugged her shoulders. “how do you normally get him to go?”

pierre sits with her words for a moment. so what if it was tuesday? he was a free spirit, sitting in the same place for too long made him go absolutely insane and he was itching to go on a trip. he’d been successful with his home improvement company so he really didn’t have anything stopping him. he looks back over at hazel. “why not? you got something better to do?” it seems like a sarcastic question but it’s not, it’s genuine. he wonders what’s holding her back, college? work? “i dunno…” he thinks for a moment, a smile when he comes up with a possible solution. “well what about a day get away? nothing too far, an hour away? private beach?”

pierre hops in his small town country boy pick up truck. “c’mon, let’s get outta here.” he proposes. he’s sick of the boredom, he was ready for an adventure. something spontaneous. a road trip? he had plenty of money, all he needed was the company. “anywhere you wanna go, seriously, just name it, we’re there by tomorrow.”

hazel raised her eyebrow. “anywhere?” she shook her head, “it’s tuesday p. we can’t just take off and pick a random destination.” she said. “even if we could, it would probably be easier to just throw a dart at a map than to have me decide.” she looked over at him for a second before out the windshield. “where would you want to go?” she asked. 

“at what point should you stop editing your college applications?” addison asked, head barely lifting from it’s usual spot buried in her laptop. “i feel like i’ve added all my soft and hard skills, and my extracurriculars, but i think i’m missing something.” her eyes glaced her application over again before shoving it in the direction of the person next to her. “i really need your help. can you please look at it? if i get stuck going to ucla, i may just cry.”
