The beer was bitter and the night was cold but the Marukawa Christmas Party was a huge success.

Marukawa Shoten would like to extend its sincere thanks to all staff across every department for their dedication, resilience, and hard work throughout the year, brought to a fittingly festive close at this year’s Christmas party. The evening served as a rare and well-earned opportunity for editors, magakas, writers and managers alike to step away from deadlines, manuscripts, and red pens, and enjoy one another’s company in a more relaxed environment.

While the aftermath includes hoarse voices, vague memories of karaoke selections, and a renewed appreciation for public transport, the spirit of camaraderie and shared exhaustion was unmistakable. Moments of cross-departmental bonding occurred organically, occasionally loudly, and almost always with enthusiasm.

Marukawa Shoten extends special thanks to Eri Aikawa @maleaser for arranging the event with exceptional care and foresight. From seamless logistics to ensuring that everyone was fed, transported, and gently shepherded through the evening, her efforts ensured the night remained celebratory rather than catastrophic.

The lights were bright, and the night was quiet, but I hope we can stay together like this forever.

This October was my Graduation (me, Aka) but I celebrated it as Misaki.

Why?

JR inspired me to do many great things, one of which was to go to University.
