have written a bit again on my uramichi fic (sort of an otome style, choose your own route fic) and one of the best things about reading your own writing back is that you can make yourself laugh
You knock and no reply, then you knock again and still no reply. The door seems open, so you slowly let yourself in. “Excuse me…” you say quietly and then find the room empty. Well, almost empty, except for a dead bunny on the ground.
You stare at it. It’s lying as if it is playing dead to hide from you. It is not a real bunny, with its large head and the white fluff bottom, but one of the mascots of the show you are about to be a script writer in. You tap it lightly with your foot – to test if it was even still conscious.
The bunny starts wailing again, holding its leg between its way too big glove like hands. “Uhm, are you ok?” you ask carefully and the bunny freezes again for a second, then it jumps up with a real animal-like movement. From lying down to standing up straight in 3 seconds, that has to be a world record.
“I’m fine,” the bunny says and is clearly still crying. “Who……are you?”
You bow a little as is customary and state your name. “I am the new script supervisor. I came around to introduce myself to everyone. Nice to meet you.. uh… Usao-kun?” You wink a little to imply that you are, in fact, not thinking his name is Usao-kun.
The bunny bows back at you and – for some reason – goes “That’s me, hippyhop. “
“Eh, and who are you, uhm, really, if I may ask?” You feel bold. His little bunny face is non threatening.
The bunny swallows. “Oh, mask off, huh? Well…” As he tries to get his top off the door flies open. The sudden noise almost gives you a heart attack.
You turn to find the bear stomping in with loud steps.
“I told you to be there in 5 minutes”, the bear grows.
“And I’ll do it again.” The bear grabs the bunny by the hand and drags at him before he realises that you are in the room with them.
“New script supervisor,” whines the bunny and tries to get out of the bear's grip.
The bear says nothing for exactly long enough for you to bow and say your name. You wait for him to give his, but he just says “Cool” and drags the bunny out of the room.
The door falls shut with a loud noise. You stand frozen as if you just witnessed a carcrash. What the hell? Well, they are in a costume, you think to yourself, one ought to go a little crazy when in a costume all day.
