This interview focuses on the band's first full album "Play Dolls."
Wataru structured the album track list like a narrative film and the songs explore a variety of themes such as isolation, the human psyche, vulnerability, and regret.
In this interview each of the tracks also gets a keyword associated with it.
hermit (hermit) - Tells the story of someone returning to their hometown after a long absence, only to find it completely alien, or otherwise feeling discarded by society.
my room agony (violent memories) - Wataru wanted this track to be high-speed and wildly frantic.
wriggle girls (miserable love) - Captures the transition of time from the dead of night into the first breaking light of dawn.
icy~cold city~ (regret) - It's a straight forward rock track but Hiroaki says it's packed with a lot experimentation, special effects, and pedal work.
with shallow (desire) - inspired by the image of a house and children, focusing on granting a loving future to the next generation.
melancholy (isolation) Hiroaki designed the track to evoke a rising sense of emotional pressure.
cheeky doll (crossing) - explores corruption and the exploitation of innocense.
calf love (faint love) - Wataru jokes that they were half-asleep writing the song and that the song's primary theme is "falling in love with a dream." He says the lyrics were written very honestly.
the swim (strength/power) - Wataru says, "Just as people grow through the various experiences they face while living in modern society, this protagonist has gone through various stories and gained a newfound strength. I could really feel that strength coming through in the song."
queer passion (magic) - Placed intentionally at the end of the album to tie together the main themes of the album.
