In Case

“Thank you so much,” he only whispered, a smile — a real smile on his face. Aiden truly was becoming someone he could trust, and be comfortable around. That was all the master wanted, after all. “I-I am…” he hummed softly. “That’s — that’s cool,” he would have said more; curiosity always got the best of him, but he was being asked a question. He swallowed. “Um, what is it?”

“Are you sure?” he asked, biting his lip. It would be very nice to have the whole collection, but his stomach was flipping at the thought of too much money being spent on him. The fact that Aiden was rich always slipped his mind. “Really?” the surprise could be heard in his voice. “What kind of business is it? That’s really… cool.”

“Really?” he asked in a small voice. Gifts had never been a part of his life before this. A part of him felt bad. “You don’t have to,” he shook his head gently. “What does the work entail?”

“Of course I can, I want to.” Aiden assured, kissing his cheek softly. “Gotta make sure my princess is happy and content. If books make you happy then that’s what daddy will get.” Smiling softly, he ushered to the spread sheet that was pulled up on the computer. “I run my own business, so I guess I have to manage it from far away.”

                    CHRISTINA KNEW THAT TO BE DRINKING during the day in the presence of the very irritating Americans meant that she’d earn herself a reputation, but the French heiress could hardly bring herself to care. She swirled the gin around her glass, and took a sip, barely sparing a glance to the figure who settle herself next to her. If they wanted her attention, they’d have to earn it.

Aiden hadn’t been trying to get anyone’s attention. He simply wanted to get a drink from the bar they were at. Rolling his eyes, he ushered the bartender over and ordered himself a beer before glancing on the book he was reading.”

       * & | ‘ I FEEL like the rationality of that explanation should scare me, but you’re serious so i’m going to take it. ’ he replied quietly, a small wave of jealousy hitting him. he wanted to care about someone this much, but he couldn’t. ‘ i suppose i’ll let you lead the way. ’ 

Aiden nodded, peeking his head into the bedroom where he saw the boy fast asleep. “There we go, look how cute he is.” he squealed, smiling softly. “Sorry, I feel like I’m babbling.”

“Kind of dull,” he answered honestly. It was becoming easier to be honest. A hand ran through his long locks. “Order of the Phoenix isn’t i-in the library, uh, so now I have nothing to really read…” he pouted, shifting slightly into a more comfortable position. “Um, what are you working on?”

“Well I’m sure I can order you a new copy of the book princess.” Aiden smiled, hoping that would cheer the other up. “It shouldn’t be a problem at all. Would you like the entire set?” Leaning forward he gently rested his head onto Caspar’s neck. “Mm, just some work from my office. It’s quite easy.”

With every day that passed, Caspar warmed up a little bit more. Still much like the timid kitten he’d always been ( it was just in his nature ), but he was definitely more comfortable around him than he had been near the start. Starting to depend on him. He nodded his head when asked, sitting down on the other cushion and pulling his legs up. “Hi.”

“How has your day been kitten?” Aiden smiled, gripping onto his hips and gently pulling him into his lap. He knew that even though he was warming up, it would still take time for him to fully adjust. “I’m sorry that daddy had a bit of work to do today but I’m yours for the rest of the night.”

             * & | PAUSING, manny went over the logic of his friend. ‘ wait, so you’re telling me that you thought the prime opportunity for me to meet this kid you’re gushing over… was when he was asleep and not, oh say, awake? ’

“Yes, I had you over here to meet my baby.” Aiden nodded, smirking softly. “Well- If he was awake he probably wouldn’t be so calm. He’d be much more lethargic and not ready to do anything.”

         * & | ‘ FINE. you’re right. i wasn’t fucking anyone. i wasn’t doing anything or with anyone, but the point is that i could have been and you’re so demanding. ’ manuel sighed dramatically. ‘ now what was so damned important you had to have me rush over here? ’

“I just wanted to see you, is that a crime?” Aiden asked, rolling his eyes rather playfully. “Besides, Caspar is asleep and I wanted you to finally meet him. Is that also a crime?” Of course he knew Manuel’s reaction would be something funny to talk about. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”

“Being preoccupied in a place like this doesn’t seem like a bad thing.” Evie says teasingly, a soft laugh leaving her lips. “Aw, he sounds sweet. Mine has a bit of an attitude, but nothing I can’t handle.” 

          * & | ‘ YOU’RE such a drama queen, you realise that, right? ’ as much as he adored aiden, manny could admit his friend was a needy pain at the moment. ‘ how do you know i wasn’t dick deep in some pet just now? and you’re asking for bed time stories of all things. ’ @aidenjfc

“Hey, my guess was you weren’t or you wouldn’t have come to find me.” Aiden laughed, shaking his head. “After all, you never were one for leaving someone that you were fucking.”

Manny: fine but i am NOT calling you baby boy.

Manny: where are you again?

Aiden: In my cabin :P
