RYAN IS NO ORDINARY CHILD, something the boy himself is painfully aware of ; reminded constantly by the memories 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚞𝚛𝚗𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚟𝚎𝚜 ( ironically ) 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚎𝚢𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚍𝚜. he killed his mother, and this man— his grandfather ... would not convince him that these powers could do anything good, not after that. not after he watched her die.
