I found something departed from life, a nearly intact forewing of a luna moth. A curiously structured wing, uncommon in most butterflies and moths I find. Even with the slightest breeze, I can feel the lift against my fingers. I can only imagine the heights it could have flown.

Then nestled among the limestone and work garden I found our dearly departed friend, though still full of life in other ways. Though your wings show your struggle and pain and you've lost your kite like tails and brilliant wine color, you are still a beauty and I am happy to have found you with your golden rod antennae, velvet black eyes and the remains of your beautiful green sheen.
