Sorry the character limits for asks was impossible! So, when I graduated high school, I went straight to a university in CA majoring in architecture and it was tough. I felt so lost and stupid. I took a couple semesters off from architecture classes and went back once I couldn’t figure out a different major. After one semester back and starting to get the hang of things, I had financial aid issues and had to leave the school. Soon after, I went to a community college for interior design. It wasn’t till I experienced community college that I realized how much the professors I had before SUCKED. They didn’t explain the design process they way these did, I feel like they didn’t care and that I had half-assed my projects because I was half-assly taught how to design. This was a few years ago and I’ve just been in a purgatory of taking GEs at community colleges and taking time off to think and work. I am now 25 and still lost. Recently someone asked if I felt if it was the shitty experience I had that ruined things for me and it made me wonder how things would be if I had a better learning experience. Now I’m considering taking some architecture classes at a community college to see if their teaching approach will help me realize it was possible all along. But I’m scared, I remember how tough it all was and I no longer have the luxury of being an unemployed teen that had all the time in the world. I have to keep working part time…am I in over my head? I feel like my opportunity has passed.
