I played through NSMB 1 for the first time in forever and honestly the new power ups they introduce are just kinda useless. The mega mushroom is introduced in the first level and is on the box art, but unless you just wanna breeze through the levels it doesn't do much.The mini mushroom is introduced in another level and is used to get a star coin, and that's it. For the amount of small pipes they put in levels you'd think they'd put them in the actual levels themselves. And the shell isn't introduced organically at all, and I've barely found any use for it.And the mini mushroom is pretty much required for unlocking certain worlds. So not only do you have to beat the boss stage with the mini shroom, you have to backtrack and either get one from a toad house or go to a level with a red question block and then beat THAT level with the mini shroom.
