This sums up exactly what is wrong with our country

All over the internet we saw people come together at these protests, regardless of religion etc. In fact, there were people clad in religious clothing, hindus, muslims and Sikhs, and all anyone cared about was helping each other out. Passing on food, hand fans and other commodities.

This protest was never ONCE about any religion. Where this person is getting their facts from, idk. Of course, traditional media and right wing influencers have been pushing this agenda, but it doesn't take much to find ground reports by independent journalists, reels by people who were there.

"If you abuse my Gods and my dharma" where? WHERE?

"I do not care about your marks, future, career or the fact that you are beaten black and blue." This sentence blew my mind. How can someone be so blinded by hatred? How is the suffering of a person in front of you not affecting you on a human level? How are you this numb? Isn't humanity the core belief of every religion?

I am a Hindu, i have grown up in a religious household. I take comfort in my faith. I do not expect my religion and beliefs to work the same way for everyone else as they do for me. One's relationship (or lack thereof) with God is a very personal affair.

I don't think my God needs me to protect Him from anyone. I don't have that big of an ego. But what my scriptures do tell me to do is Be A Good Person. Be kind, and generous, and empathetic. Respect other people. Don't cause anyone harm. Do good deeds. Apna achha karm kro, phal ki chinta mat kro.

sitting in a nice library, but listening to library background noise videos because the actual noises are annoying

raising your hand in class all the time, but it's just to clarify that you're understanding the concepts right and not because you have anything useful to say

having a 'going outside' wardrobe that's leagues nicer than your basic graphic tees and pyjama pants you wear at home

not sacrificing your sleep for a better grade, getting a worse grade, and laughing it off

loving being corrected on something because it means you're learning

a fancy flask full of anything but alcohol

hanging out at a different school's library because it has better vibes

preferring the comedic, accessible, or 'low brow' translations and adaptations of classics

being really into something unacademic, like the gym or celebrity drama, and analysing it the same way you would your studies and making it aesthetic

keeping a commonplace book but it's full of memes and very basic concepts that still feel revolutionary to you

describing plots of classic literature like it's gossip

getting super into something for 3 weeks, getting bored of it and quitting, but then! getting into it again a few years later and now you have all the equipment for it

keeping a cigarette box full of rolled up drawings or poems and giving them out to people as though you're offering them a smoke

having a conversation, not understanding something, and looking it up on your phone

messy handwriting, but not in an aesthetic way

only being capable enough in a skill to do simple drills (scales instead of songs, simple movements instead of dances, colour mixing tests instead of complete paintings)

being really bad at games like chess

constantly losing all your nice things, so most of the time you have to use the boring version of them

listening to genres other than jazz or classical

eating some random bullshit you found in the fridge but plating it on fine china and serving it to yourself on a silver platter
