"Some people says it’s gonna take a really long time to get used to it. But I really don’t believe that." Arthur said, shrugging. "As long as you believe that you’re alive and you deserve to be alive, getting used to the feeling of it will be easy."

“You don’t believe it why?” Elise said thinking about what the older male said. “How long were you died for Arthur?”

He smiled softly as he rested their foreheads together “I’m so glad you’re back, I can’t believe it” he replied “And we’re gonna leave this place, have our own home together and lead normal lives” he hummed with a crooked grin.

“I’m still getting used to the idea that I’m not a ghost no more Yuri” Elise said as she cuddled into him. “But we definitely will leave this place get an apartment somewhere and lead normal lives. No more therapy or meds”

He hugged her tightly, leaning up to deepen the kiss, resting their foreheads together as he pulled away to speak “Never leaving you”

Elise felt a spark during the kiss, it made her feel even more alive if that was possible. She smiled looking into his eyes “I know” she whispered subconsciously her hands ran through his hair. 

Yuri watched her with wide eyes as he felt her heart beat, a quiet laugh of disbelief escaping his lips “You’re alive… Oh my god” he breathed, pulling her into a tight hug— he never wanted to let go “You’re alive…”

This time as he hugged her she planted a kiss on his lips, she too didn’t want to let him go. “I’m alive and nothing is gonna take me away from you Yuri” She said kissing him again.

Elise let out a soft giggle. “Yeah I’m alive” after the warm embraced, the former ghost took his hand and placed it on her beating heart “I’m alive Yuri. Anyone who was dead and was human before they died came back alive. I can leave... I can leave with you”      

Yuri let out a sigh as he sat on the steps of the asylum, watching all the patients leave with their families, off to start their new lives. He let out a sigh as he ran through his short hair “Fuck” he breathed, knowing he had no one to go home to

Elise found the one person she had been looking for ever since she came back alive. “Yuri” She scream with a smile as she ran across the courtyard and tackled him in a hug before she noticed that he was miserable as he watched the patients leave with their parents or guardians. “Hey look at me” Elise said trying to get his attention, she placed her now warm hand under his chin making him look at her. “We don’t need anyone we got each other”

"Oh … " Arthur said, looking at her with a nod. She obviously doesn’t want to talk about it and he doesn’t really want to push into telling more. Maybe she’ll tell him when the time is right … just like that other ghost that he knew before. His heart ached a little at the mention of her. "Anyway, it’s good to feel again, isn’t it?"

“I’m still trying to get used to not being able to just disappear and be invisible” She admitted, Elise knew there were others who were dead longer than hersel and they’d probably have more trouble getting used to all these emotions and the world.

"And, if you don’t mind me asking, when was that?" Arthur asked her, removing his gaze away from the horizon for a while. Only now did he realize how beautiful the girl was … just another ghost he knew before. "I mean, you don’t have to answer if you don’t wanna talk about it … "

“I died last December” Elise said looking at the other male out of the corner of her eyes. “Not the one that past” The frown was still on the girls face, it was hard for her to talk about her death, she never talked about it before. Hell even her best friend who also happens to be her boyfriend didn’t know how she died. How could she tell someone that her other best friend father killed her to see him suffer.

"Cotard syndrome." Arthur replied with a shrug. Well, now he actually acknowledge the syndrome. Unconsciously, one of his hands brushed against the long scar on his neck. He doesn’t even remember how painful that one was. "It means I believe that I’m dead even though … I’m not."

“I know, some of the staff thought I had cotard syndrome when I first died” Every scar on her pale body started to feel like it was on fire. Memories of her death flooded her mind a frown appeared on her face. Elise never told anyone at all on how she died.

Arthur just shrugged, smiling at her question. He was not even sure if he really was dead. "I was . . . or at least I think I was." he answered. "I mean, when I look at my scars, it suggests that I've killed myself but I was diagnosed with a delusional disorder . . . " he continued. "So, I'm not really sure."

“Oh?” She said questionably “what delusional disorder were you diagnosed with?” Elise asked looking over at the city with a smile, In a few short weeks, Yuri and her would be living in an apartment. 

Arthur just watched her walk toward him, a small smile was etched on his face. “It’s definitely something. It’s a real good reminder that it’s still a life worth living.” he said. He’s confident about saying that now. After the whole battle, he felt more...

“Yeah you too Arthur” She stood staring over the city. It was just that easy to talk about being dead recently. “I was.... wait you were dead too?” Elise never knew that he was dead but before the war there were a lot of people dying.

He was alive. “I’m Arthur.” he said, reaching a hand out.

Elise started to slowly relax around the male who was Arthur. “I’m Elise” She said shaking his hand. Elise still expected her hand to go right through the older males as they shook hands. 

From the way she moves and the way she talks, she’s pretty much like him before he came here. Quiet and would be with himself than around other people. Arthur just gave her a smile and gestured her to moved beside him, to see a better view of the city. “Well, I guess I’m not the only person who comes here every now and then.” he said. “I haven’t seen you before … “

Elise walked slowly over to the older male she had kept her distance from him as she stood near. “I think we all come up here to enjoy the view. It’s really something. I uhm I’ve been around” She didn’t know how to explain that she was dead, hell half of the patients and staff at the asylum were dead until just recently.

Elise froze, she still wasn’t used to not being visible it was only a few days since she became human again. She still missed being a ghost if she didn’t want to be seen by anyone she’d just be invisible “Yeah, it uhm helps me think” She rubbed her arms as she walked farther on the roof to look out.
