“   oh,   just   parts?   ”   he   smirked,   pulling   sofia   closer   by   her   waist.   “   look…   you   and   i   both   know   what   this   is.   and   we   also   know   that   you   aren't   looking   at   any   other   guys.   i   got   all   you   need.   ”   he   meant   it   in   a   friend   sorta   way   considering   how   long   he's   known   her   for,   but   with   the   way   he   was   looking   down   at   her,   that'd   be   hard   for   anyone   to   buy.   “   oh   i'm   very   certain   of   myself.   so   certain   that   i   know   you   can't   get   enough   of   me.   ”   he   leaned   in   close   enough   to   let   her   think   he   was   going   to   kiss   her,   just   to   place   a   peck   to   her   cheek.   “   well   princess,   we   got   chemistry.   we're   friends   who   just   so   happen   to   know   how   to   get   each   other   off.   ”

"just parts," sofia echoes, trying to stand her ground. but then, kenzo has her by the waist and she feels as if she's floating on air - - and she could curse herself for falling for it every time, for falling for every suave move he makes and for every sweet word that rolls off of his tongue. "oh, kenzo," she hums, fingers dancing down his sternum, "i could so easily wiggle free from your arms and find a new man within an hour. what makes you think you're better than them?" flutters her lashes as she looks up at him with ( not so innocent ) doe eyes. the way kenzo looks down at her makes sofia's stomach flip, which doesn't help her case. rolls her eyes, but it's fond as she presses her palms against his chest, "just because i enjoy our trysts doesn't mean i can't get enough of you, kenzo." a sharp inhale as he leans closer and sofia's eyes flutter closed, only for a frustrated sigh to slip through her lips when she feels his lips on her cheek. "we have crazy chemistry," she agrees, timbre laced with lust, "but i'm not looking for a friend to get me off anymore."

the   issue   with   kenzo   was   that   he   didn't   know   when   to   stop   playing   around   anymore.   that   was   one   of   his   worst   traits,   his   inability   to   possess   a   serious   nature   when   it   was   absolutely   necessary.   this   was   a   key   example   of   that.   his   ego   got   in   the   way   of   love   for   him,   because   how   could   sofia   even   think   to   find   someone   else?   especially   when   he   knew   that   he   was   all   she   needed.   he   looked   her   up   and   down   when   she   started   speaking   again,   tilting   his   head   slightly.   his   shit   eating   grin   dropping   into   something   a   tiny   bit   more   serious.   ❛   you're   kidding,   right?   you'd   have   to   start   from   scratch,   you   know   that   right?   ❜   he   chuckled   bitterly,   shaking   his   head.   ❛   you   talk   a   big   game,   but   nobody   else   is   gonna   learn   you   the   way   i   have.   i   know   you   better   than   most,   i   make   you   feel   more   than   most   too.   and   that's   more   than   just   finding   a   dude   with   a   pretty   face.   but   you   already   knew   that.   ❜   when   she   made   the   comment   about   not   needing   a   friend   to   get   her   off   anymore,   he   scoffed.   now   he   realy   knew   what   this   was   about.   labels.   ❛   yo.   are   you   for   real?   ❜   he   laughed   in   disbelief,   shaking   his   head.   ❛   you're   deadass   ready   to   cut   this   off   cus   there's   no   label   on   it?   ❜

oh  jacqueline  was  pissed  now.  if  she  wasn't  pissed  earlier,  she  was  pissed  now.  “oh  i  heard  you  loud  and  fucking  clear,  asher.  but  what  i  heard  was  straight  bullshit.”  she  laughed,  completely  humorless.  “it  seems  like  i'm  speaking  another  language,  because  i  feel  like  i  literally  just  told  ‘yo  ass  that  i  don’t  give  a  fuck  about  what  you  care  about.  i  can't  fathom  how  a  head  can  be  so  big  yet  so  empty.”  she  normally  wasn't  so…  mouthy.  but  she  also  didn't  have  things  like  this  happen  too  often.  “i  have  my  own  self  autonomy.  i  can  do  things  without  a  man.  you  aren't  my  fucking  body  guard,  i  can  handle  my  damn  self.  and  to  call  this  a  temper  tantrum?  is  crazy.  because  i'm  rightfully  pissed  the  fuck  off.” 

Almost as if her fury is diesel to his smug fire, Match watches every irritated word leave her lips, but his smile never changes. "Okay." He nods once, slow, almost thoughtful. "Lemme ask you somethin'." His arms fold across his chest, inquisitive. "What you gon' do the next time I step in, hm? Cuss me out?" He tilts his head with a chuckle, while her earlier laugh had been devoid of mirth, Match's is full of it. The question is even phrased with assumptive energy. Unfortunately, in an industry like this, there'd be another creep eventually. And if Jacqueline was there, since they're both musical artists, chances were Match wouldn't be far behind. "Matter fact…" He rocks back on his heels. "It don't matter what you do." His grin widens just a touch. "It's not gonna change the fact that I'm gonna crack they jaw. Every single time."

the   audacity   that   match   had   gave   jacqueline   goosebumps.   the   irritation   in   the   blood   ran   through   her   veins   and   it   felt   like   it   was   going   straight   to   her   head   with   the   way   he   kept   going.   ❛   you   got   a   whole   lotta   nerve,   has   anyone   ever   fuckin'   told   you   that?   ❜   she   scoffed,   gaze   racking   over   him   with   disgust.   she   hated   men   who   felt   like   it   was   their   place   to   stick   their   nose   in   business   that   wasn't   theirs.   it   projected   a   stereotype   that   jacqueline   actively   tried   working   against   in   her   career,   but   it   seemed   that   no   matter   what,   she'd   have   to   deal   with   this   irritation.   ❛   you   aren't   paid   to   be   a   bodyguard.   so   stop   tryna   do   shit   that   nobodies   asking   you   to   do.   it's   fucking   embarrassing.   ❜

alex   could   sense   how   it   wasn't   completely   fair   to   end   things   with   rome   over   something   like   this,   especially   when   he   knew   that   his   safety   was   ensured   with   him,   but   he   was   nervous.   he   had   never   been   involved   with   a   man   like   rome.   ❛ you   can't   promise   that…   but   i   guess   i   can   trust   you.   ❜   he   sighed,   bringing   his   hand   up   to   rome's,   offering   him   a   smile.   ❛ i   won't.   i'm   not   going   anywhere…   i'm   just   nervous. ❜

he'd never been so enamored with another - - had always been too hyper-focused on his duties within the group, as the 'prince'. but the moment rome laid eyes on alex, he had to know him. he had to protect him. he had to have him. threw all caution to the wind to introduce himself and ( somehow ) work his way into alex's life. "i'll die before i ever let anything happen to you," rome vows, a smile curling onto his lips when he sees alex's. "hey…it's okay to be nervous," rome hums as he presses a soft kiss to the other's forehead before pulling back so he can look into his eyes, "for example, i'm fucking terrified. terrified of how i feel about you."

all   previous   worries   washed   clean   out   of   alex's   system,   too   fixated   on   rome   to   continue   overthinking   the   way   he   was.   honestly,   alex   found   himself   silly   with   the   way   he   was   worrying   previously.   the   realization   that   he's   spent   so   much   time   worrying   rather   than   just   enjoying   himself   with   rome   took   a   toll   on   him   for   a   minute,   putiting   things   in   perspective   enough   for   him   to   get   rid   of   any   lingering   doubt.   ❛   i   know.   i'm   being   silly.   ❜   he   hummed,   bringing   his   hands   up   to   rome's   chest,   offering   him   a   wider   smile.   ❛   yeah?   well   i   don't   want   you   to   be.   i   want   you   excited,   not   scared.   ❜

   "  because  i  take  your  safety  serious?  —  who  the  fuck  have  you  been  hanging  around  with,  seriously?  "  there  was  a  spike  in  volume  as  his  question  held  a  personality  for  once.  one  brow  had  been  lifted  with  a  tilt  back  of  his  head.  his  lips  jerked  but  he  refrained  from  giving  it  to  her.  he  noticed  the  skipping  step  and  used  his  frame  as  a  column  for  her  to  rely  on,  taking  in  the  irregular  pattern  of  the  breeze  along  with  robin’s  current  s͟t͟a͟t͟e͟ ͟ o͟f͟ ͟ m͟i͟n͟d͟.  maverick  wanted  to  match  her  bliss  as  he  worked  with  the  same  amount  of  shots  as  she  had,  but  he  had  to  focus  and  craft  a  net  to  combat  their  obstacle.  “  i’m  really  the  only  one  speaking  sense  right  now.  “  the  recollection  of  their  situation  was  brushed  as  dramatic  as  the  words  had  been  mumbled  —  inside  thoughts  had  been  outed.  the  rounds  of  alcohol  had  been  the  mattress  of  support  for  his  nerves,  yet  he  found  another  way  to  get  them  strung  and  back  active.  robin’s  series  of  giggles,  minuscule  pokes  to  his  arm,  and  the  nudges  had  been  chipping  at  the  worry  —  melting  the  solid  that  sat  at  the  pit  of  his  abdomen  and  changed  its  state  of  matter.  “  all  i’m  hearing  is  that  you’ve  been  watching  me.“  maverick  did  the  tone  shift  with  a  deliberate  delivery  ;  the  velvet  flow  had  creased  his  observational  response.  trying  not  to  dwell  on  the  fact  that  she  collected  honors  in  studying  him.  his  turn  to  nudge  her  arm  with  his  elbow,  before  he  leaned  in  a  direction  to  start  them  off  on  a  path.  his  place,  as  it  was  the  only  place  that  could  come  to  mind  for  either  of  them.  “  well,  alcohol  is  a͟ ͟ d͟e͟p͟r͟e͟s͟s͟a͟n͟t͟.  “  a  half  smile  was  spread  with  admiration  as  he  watched  her  features  bubble  with  drunken  joy.  “  it’s  not  like  that.  he  barely  knows  you.  it’s  just  he’s  .  .  .  he’s  a  bit  selfish  when  it  comes  to  me.  “  was  the  best  he  could  label  it.  the  nudge  reminded  him  that  she  was  still  close,  so  his  lazy  half  grin  had  been  stretched.  “  this  way.  “  his  arm  gently  tugging  her  in  a  direction  to  start  their  path  to  his  place.  tips  orders  had  been  tinted  red  from  the  buzz,  one  of  the  three  clear  signs  that  he  was  floating  in  the  start  of  euphoria.  he  could  feel  her  lingered  gaze,  his  stayed  forward  at  their  path  for  a  while  before  he  brought  them  back  to  her,  a  quick  drop  to  her  lips  before  his  own  expression  had  twisted  into  pure  comical  amusement  at  her  claim  of  him  being  a  feline.  teeth  had  been  shown,  nose  crinkled  —  his  laugh  melodic  and  vocal.  “  oh  my  god,  are  you  finished?  “  words  crumbled  under  bounced  shoulders  and  stretched  lips.  “  i’m  asking  because  i  have  a  cat.  just  trying  to  be  considerate.  “  the  laughter  was  dialed  down  to  a  fain  grin,  footsteps  leading  his  fake  girlfriend  down  the  sidewalk.  “  shouldn’t  be  be  a  long  walk.  you’re  still  with  me?  “
