Goodbye, John. Goodbye Dave. Goodbye Jade, and Karkat, and Kanaya, and the rest. The book, now, may finally be closed, and a new journal opened, a pen in hand, fresh with ink, hesitant in its hover above the page, with a nervous energy not dissimilar to that of the conductor’s baton, poised to allow the entr’acte to swell and begin a new song entirely. Though the leitmotifs and stings are flavored by those that came before, and changed for it, the previous tune is gone. It will be missed, but so, too, will it be remembered. 

Goodbye, everyone. Thank you for playing. 

It is a bittersweet ending. Evil is not done; it yet exists. But it is not the end of all things. From death, life. From the pit of sorrow, the fruit of prosperity. You will never stop fighting. But in the end, even if it feels hollow? You will find some small happiness.
