i designed this mostly cuz i'm not super into the fanon littlepip- her colors don't harmonize at all they are Uggy. i set out to make a unique one so i did a bunch of research on descriptions of her (there aren't any, aside from implying her colors are comparatively plain) and other fan interpretations of her. my favorite old design i found is this white one, but i decided her having apple family white freckles was important to me so uhh. i landed pretty close to where i started. oops

i opted to draw her in the canterlot police barding from later in the story because all the fanart has the stable barding. she also has the pipbuck melded to her leg to match.

lots more research and wrestling with mechanical objects because i wanted to get them right (there are still mistakes ppl pointed out to me </3 i am a wee character artist not an engineer)

wavelengths has a sassy social moon dancer who’s best friends with sunset. she’s like early season twilight plus trixie. she’s actually perfection. shes definitely still moony given she’s a librarian nerd but she’s also such a flirt and teases sunset a few times about her being in love with her. god sunny and moony in wavelengths is just one of my favorite character dynamics in any fanfic i’ve read. it’s so good in origins through applications and it makes the dreamers arc hurt so fucking n much. it’s what half of this post is based on lol (look at the book moony’s reading)

spectacular seven moon dancer is a BITCH. she’s actually abhorrent. she’s like a theater kid incel who actively works with the villains and has such a deep seated hatred for sunset since she has a crush on twilight it’s SO GOOD. she starts out as the most hateable character in the world (esp since most of the story is from sunsets pov) but in later volumes she gets more and more amicable and her character growth is amazing. and by volume V while she’s def not friends with sunset their dynamic is honestly really nice i LOVE enemies to friends (also yeah flutterdancer is ADORABLE especially S7 moony and fluttershy)

tbh neither of those moon dancers are anywhere close to canon moon dancer but it just makes me love her even more. and both her being sunsets rival/enemy and her being sunsets best friend work SO WELLL. i need WL and S7 moony to cross over somehow LMAO they would hate each other so much
