it was late in the evening, and you were humming an old tune to yourself as you stretched out on the sand. you knew it was somewhat dangerous to be out this late in the night, around 2am, but found comfort anyway. the waves moving back and forth did a good job at making you tired.

it was quiet, somewhat unusually quiet. everyone was in their homes, asleep, but you. the clouds covered the moon partly, glowing with the light. the stars twinkle slowly as a plane flys by. it was perfect, until you heard a voice. "you're out late sugar, it's dangerous you know" you hear someone say. panicking you open your eyes and look up, it was a scraggly man.

"I'm enjoying the water, that's all" you say. he sits down next to you, he smelt of dirt and mold. it was unpleasant, but something about him captivated you. "I get it, my names trevor by the way" he sighed, laying next to you. he picked at the skin of his face as he admired the clouds.

you couldn't help but notice the way the moonlight reflected in his eyes, the brown lighting up. "mines Y/N" you chuckle, leaning up on your arms. you could see his smile, cracked and dry. "that's quite the pretty name, I've never seen you around before, you must be new?" trevor asked, looking up up and down.

you smile, "yes I am, I don't see many people like you around" you sigh "everyone else is old and drunk" he laughed at that, chewing his nails. "I'm more into meth and crank" he stated shamelessly, you gulp, now knowing why he looked so messed up.
