It was spring last summer when George realized he loved (Y/N). Ever since then, he’s mesmerized by not only her looks, but also with her smart mind. Well, let’s just say the Williams driver is (positively) obsessed with her. 

Whilst many people don’t believe in love at first sight (mind you: the love struck Brit was one of ‘em), George had immediately set a crush on (Y/N). The poor boy just couldn’t help it...

It all began in February 2020. New interns had gotten a spot to complement the team at Williams, and they were... well, very excited to say the least. And surprise - surprise: (Y/N) was one of them. 

Rather quickly, gossip spread the word of a certain girl (spoiler alert: [Y/N]), and left anyone - no, everyone - wondering about her. “She’s amazing, and that for an intern,” people had whispered through the hallways of the Williams headquarters. George just couldn’t help it but guess who this magic girl was. 

The young driver was completely in awe when he met her for the first time. It was a race weekend and she’d walked into his driver’s room like it was nothing. Not even fazed to see the young and upcoming (ah, and don’t forget: very handsome) Formula 1 driver. She had smiled kindly, before telling him that he was expected at the garage in about an hour. He already knew that thought, but couldn’t dare to tell her that. Not when she looked so - so... Jeez, he couldn’t even think about a word to define her. 

She’d helped him a great deal that day. (Y/N) offered to sign the merchendise with him, cheekily commenting: “They won’t know, even if I’ve faked your signature.” And why decline when this pretty girl says it’s way to much to sign for him alone? Nope, no one does that, right?

They had great fun, talking about the nice weather (typical small talk, huh?), his upcoming free practices and her first months as an intern, and all. George even dared to tell her she looked really nice in the Williams polo. She cheekily brushed it off with a small smile, which left the boy slightly embarrassed. 

He wanted to ask her out on a date that day. He really did. George finally mustered up the courage, but before he even could, she had walked out of his drivers room without a goodbye.

George had tried again, later in the day after the second free practice. He’d finally found (Y/N) on Nicholas’ side of the garage standing next to the other ‘social media’ girls, but butted out when he saw them looking rather funny at him - laughing even, at his nervous behavior. Mumbling a never mind with blushed cheeks before he’d left the girls. 

Unfortunately, the young driver did not have a chance that weekend, being way too busy with the upcoming race. So, without any succes, George started the week with (let’s just say some) hope. 

Being (mind you: very) nervous talking to her, he had spilled some hot coffee on his fireproofs. Laughing at him, (Y/N) took a couple of napkins and tried her best to clean the brown stain out of the fabric. Without any succes thought. It was like George was dreaming. Sure, he saw your lips move, but in no way he could hear anything she was telling him, way too intrigued with her sweet gesture. Because ehh... her hands are touching his chest!?!?! So please don’t be mad at the boy for not asking (Y/N) out when he (definitely!) had the chance. 

The third time he’d tried to ask her out was, again, unsuccessful. This time, though, instead of looking with big eyes at the pretty intern, George did actually ask her something along the lines of: “Do you err... maybe - you really don’t have to, haha - want to... umm. You know? Go out?” 

“Of the way? Of course! Sorry, George, (Y/N) quickly said and stepped aside, still focusing on the iPhone in her small hands, looking at Twitter, or something. 

Shit, the young Williams driver thought. He stood there for a couple of seconds, thinking about his stupid action, before one of the mechanics told him: “Yo, can you move out of the way too, please?” 

Why am I like this again?

“She's just playing hard to get, mate,” Aleix had told him, who now knew all about George’s crush. “I’m sure she knows.”

George was done with this ‘asking out’ game. Like really. After two whole months (!) she still didn’t accepted his offer. Not that it was very clear, though. For starters, the boy didn’t even asked her out for real anyway, so all the ten times of ‘sort of’ trying, do not count. 

But the poor boy was oblivious. He was devastated, thinking even: I'm George effing Russel? Why won’t she like me? 

Then, after weeks and weeks of trying, he did it. He asked her out. With just a simple: do you want to go on a date with me? It felt good, unloading all the pressure he’d felt for months. It felt like hours, when he waited patiently for (Y/N)’s answer. 

And well, she did like the boy, but just not in that way. So knowing that she does not want to go out with him hurt like hell. Not kidding. 

“I really appreciate the offer, really, but I don’t think we could be together,” she had told him. “I’m sorry, George.”

Stay safe, you had told him before he had stepped into his papayan colored bolide. He didn’t, though: Lando broke his silent promise.

At first you felt excited; Lando had a great start, jumped from tenth to fourth place, and owned to first couple of turns. Then you felt scared; he hit the barrier with high speed. Debris flew everywhere, two tires were flying over the track and the racing car making an one-eighty. 

Suddenly, time stopped, and it seemed to go on forever. Well, the moment after the crash did. Marshals quickly ran to the catastrophe, trying their best to get Lando out of the car.

Luckily, not much later, you looked how your boyfriend lifts himself out of the bolide. You finally could breath again. He’s fine.

Eventually, when Lando was brought back to the paddock with the medical car, he came in sight. You quickly jumped up from the stool, still trembling from shock, and walked over to him before you told him: “Don’t ever do that to me again.”

He too was shaken up from what had happened. You saw the look on his face. God, you know him all too well. 

“Please?” you asked, hugging him tightly. 

A crowd of people surrounded you to and camera’s captured the sweet moment. But you didn’t mind: all you wanted was to stay close to your lover. 

Without saying anything, Lando walks through the garage, still holding onto you. When you both arrive at his drivers room, he let’s out a long sigh and unzips his uniform, reveling his fireproof shirt. 

“Babe?” 

No answer. 

“Baby?” you softly question him. “Are you okay?”

It stays silent for a while. Before turning around, his back facing you, he says: “Yeah, that was a big one.” He undressed himself out of his McLaren suit and quickly pulls his team-polo over his head. 

“Come here,” your boyfriend tells you, holding his arms out. You jump up from the couch and gladly accept his hug. “I’m fine, really.”

“I was so scared, Lan,” you tell him, your voice muffled as your face was close to his neck. “Thought you’d hurt yourself bigtime.” 

He laughed you off, while mumbling: “Babe?” 

You looked at him with big eyes, waiting patiently for him to tell you something. 

“You’re here with me, of course I won’t do something stupid.”

“But you sorta did,” you say. “You crashed into the wall!”

Your lips. He kisses you whenever he can. And boy, everyone knows that. But don’t attack him please, because just wants to be close to you. And who cares when ‘they’re sooo kissable’ anyway?

Uh, duhh! “When do we start?” he had joked when you talked about the topic of starting a family. But think about it though, Dan would be such a great dad, right?

He’s the big spoon. Wrapping his muscled arms around you tightly and kissing your shoulders lovingly. But sometimes, when he’s very tired after a race weekend, you cuddle up behind him, because you both know he falls asleep immediately when you do that.

You both like being active, going out on hikes and all. Then after loads of sweat and yelling ‘Dan can we please stop for a sec’ you have a picknick on the hill.

You’re my little honey badger. Hearing that for the first time you thought is wasn’t that romantic, because: honey badgers stink. But no, he calls you that because of your love for honey. Eh.. cute I guess?

Very soon. You had surprised him in Melbourne for his first race for the season, enduring (because, who loves flying anyway?!) almost a 12 hour flight. And with that, he just knew it: she’s the one.

Yes. But he does not hold back when you start to (playfully) wrestle him.  

H – Hand/hold (How do they like to hold? How do they like to hold your hand?)

He does not really like to hold your hand. Daniel rather wraps an arm around your shoulder, so that your close to him. But also show people you’re his.

I – Impression (First impressions)

You were very shy at first. So he didn’t’ really thought you would be his girlfriend soon. But after a while, when you both stared to know each other, you opened up more. And boy, he loves your goofy side.

J – Joker (Are they into pulling pranks?)

Talking about being goofy: everyone should be terrified of you two. Not kidding. You both pull pranks like it’s war. Maybe that’s where the nickname ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ comes from. No worries: you do not kill.

He loves to give you little smooches on your cheek in public. But don’t be surprised for full make-out sessions when you’re both alone ;)

You always forget to charge your phone. But don’t worry: Danny’s to the rescue. He makes sure that your phone’s a 100% in the morning. (Please, can I get a Daniel Riccardo?)

M – Memory (Their favorite moment together?)

Vacation. You were just having so much fun together. Plus: it was just the two of you. What else do you want?

N – Nickel (Do they spoil?)

Oh, yes! But not materialistic things though. He’d rather take you out on dates or fun activities. Because: “Why spend money, when I can spend time with you?”

Yes! Sometimes even without a reason. Just because you deserve it, he’d say.

He’d sing (no, scream) a song, trying to get you dancing with him. So after a little complaining you give in, and dance around the living room. Read: jumping up and down the couch and knocking over a vase or two. But who cares!

Mostly work. But you don’t mind at all, because you know he knows that you’d always listen to him.
