Oh, tysm, I really appreciate it!! I just feel so touched that someone wants to hear about my Cassian :’)
Honestly, I’ve never shared anything about him like this, so I’ll do my best to keep it structured.
Cass is 19 y/o at the beginning of DA:O and had never left Denerim before being thrown into the dumpster fire. The arranged marriage was never something he wanted and was very verbal about it lol. He’s super close with his family though, and is probably known as bit of a rascal in the alienage. He had never really left Denerim until Duncan recruits him.
He’s still slightly immature, not a born leader, cocky, witty, and facetious (which is also his primary armor against a world that has shown him little kindness). Despite this, he possesses a deep capacity for loyalty towards those he lets get close. He’s emotionally constipated and almost incapable of expressing affection verbally (he’s an affection-through-actions-kind-of-guy) but generally has a big mouth and lots of opinions.
He doesn’t respect authority figures or the nobility and is kinda done with politics and fixing everyone else’s problems. He derives some chaotic amusement from fucking with the system that is suppressive towards his people. He let Isolde sacrifice herself, gave Harrowmont the crown after exposing him and doing Bhelen’s work etc.
Everyone in the party gets along surprisingly well with him (in-game) and there isn’t one that he wouldn’t take a bullet for by the end of the game. Alistair is more than just his fellow warden; he’s his close friend and the city elf somehow managed to put him on the throne (and made Shianni bann, of course). He will forever remind Alistair about how much he dislikes Eamon. Leliana, despite them getting off the wrong foot, ended up being his absolute bestie. His and Morrigan’s relationship became a bit awkward after she confessed her feelings towards him (hard thing for him to deal with. I too was shocked when she did that lol). They did the dark ritual together and he upheld his part of the arrangement and never pursued her.
He has zero romantic or sexual experience so Zev essentially turned his world upside down. He wasn’t interested in Zev in the beginning and didn’t trust him as far as he could throw him. When things start to get physical, Cass was pretty busy with trying to stop the Blight, keep everyone alive and lead a party, avoid a civil war, and deal with foreign politics and cultures, so he didn’t have the mental capacity to fall in love. Once he does fall in love, he falls hard and has a difficult time coming to terms with it (lots of gaslighting himself, denial, and suppressed feelings). But Zev is brave enough to confess, and their now spoken romantic relationship is solidified. Lots of details are left out, but I could literally go on forever lol.
Oh, and he named his mabari after Soris to mess with him.
