                        Bony arms reach out and envelope her in his [ embrace ],                          pulling the younger c l o s e r to his chest.  A small smile                          manages to   flicker   across his features momentarily as                          he    moves    a   strand    of    her    hair    from    her   face.

                                                                                                 ❝ I am happy. ❞

Her face meets and buries into her brother's shoulder with a heaving sigh leaving her mouth and fingers  curling into the grimy fabric of his shirt.               ( Not that hers was much of an improvement. )

Nat pulls away to glance up at the all too familiar face, hoping her features curl into a smile mimicking his own.

Tomorrow will be kinder It's true, I've seen it before A brighter day is coming my way Yes, tomorrow will be kinder
