Jimin was pleasantly surprised to see his former student’s face, but not so surprised at his performance. He’d always been a, special, kid. Jimin started to reply, but he’d noticed another hazard, and he’s convinced Taehyung never really changed, “you should probably take out the mag, and put the gun down before you get too distracted,” Jimin suggested with a small chuckle, shaking his head at the boy.

Jimin figured common politeness would be to eliminate the barrier and distance between them, so he told him to wait a moment before he took the exit out of the main desk and into the shooting range station. Once approaching the younger, he opened his arms for a hug, somewhat still surprised he didn’t recognize the boy when he came in. “I kind of just over see things for my uncle. He owns the place-” Jimin was going to say more when he thought about the younger and what people usually come to shooting ranges for, “why are youhere?” Jimin asked with a playful raise of his brow, “not playing to murder someone are you?” The city of Incheon was pretty, wild, to say the least. Probably shouldn’t joke around like that, Jimin.

geez, taehyung can barely manage to think about the time he spent in jimin's class, mostly because he was never present. he remembers hitting on the older far too much, and mostly being a nuisance but he did enjoy the class, though he wouldn't admit it. he leaned in for the hug with an amused grin, falling back into his usual face despite the surprise.

"really? i wouldn't have guessed a high school teacher would have a liking for guns, and certainly not you, park jimin." hyung isn't in his vocabulary, and it's not out of rudeness ( normally ), it's more playfui than anything. that and he isn't normally one for formalities. "i am not planning on murdering anyone, i can't believe you'd think that of me!" he tosses back with a roll of his eyes before humming.

"am i taller than you, now?" tae asks with a shit eating grin, lo and behold standing atleast a few inches over the older male.

People rarely ever ask for any help after he sets them up and that’s something he’s grateful for. Today, particularly, there hadn’t been anyone that came in, but only a half an hour ago, someone finally did, and Jimin found himself staring at them and watching them. He didn’t know everything there was to know about shooting, but he’d say he has some expertise and this person could probably use it. When the gun nearly flew out of their hands, Jimin held in the small burst of laughter that threatened to tumble from his lips. They seemed as if they’d be better on a good day, but today was not that good day, “you know if you curved your wrist a little more, and straightened your stance – and maybe used your other hand for support you’d have a better, more consistent shot.” – but what did a firearms specialist know?

honestly, he’s not sure why he takes a sudden interest in firearms. he’s thought about getting a gun before, wanting to be able to protect himself without resorting to his ability. taehyung certainly has the funds to do so, but there’s another issue. he’s never even shot a gun in his entire life. honestly, he doesn’t even know if he’s seen one in person. people aren’t allowed to carry or own one, so of course he’d be acquiring one through illegal means, but he also needs to learn how to use it.

so here he is, really. strolling into a shooting range with not a clue as to how to do any of this. he’d already been set up at his own spot, a pair of noise canceling ear muffs clinging to him and aiming at a paper target, the figure of a person outlined on it. taehyung’s stance is absolutely wrong, he doesn’t feel comfortable holding the gun in his hands, it just feels so dangerous, especially when he shoots. the recoil is awfully unexpected, causing tae to jump, a noise of surprise leaving him as he quickly puts the gun down at the sound of a voice from behind him.

turning slightly, he looks over his shoulder and gasps. “sorry, i-- hyung?” turning around fully, taehyung pulls his ear muffs off and stares, surprise in his voice and widened eyes. “what are you doing here?” it’s been a long time since he’s seen park jimin, one of his teachers when he was in high school. honestly, he didn’t think he’d ever see this man again, but here he is, in a shooting range, no less.

Taehyung’s not his son, nor does he live terribly far away, but it’s cold and has been getting even colder – snowing, even, and Hoseok’s nothing if he’s not the type to make sure his friends eat properly and stay warm during the changing of weather. He wouldn’t doubt that Taehyung knows how to take care of himself given that the younger lives alone (and has for as long as Hoseok’s even known him), but seeing as that rarely ever stopped Hoseok from doting on someone else, it would certainly not stop him now.

He can be a bit tenacious with his own habits sometimes, can’t he?

His fist knocks lightly against the door, and the male barely stops himself from rocking on his heels as he waits for the other to open up. Already he’s wearing a simple, natural smile – one more suiting of spring instead of a lightly snowing day in winter like this one.

although sudden, taehyung can’t say he would ever be upset with hoseok’s sudden arrivals at his home, on multiple occasions. he welcomes the occasion, revels in it, far more than he should.

he perks up at the knock on the door and turns off his tiny television to go answer it, a bright smile that probably only hoseok has seen lighting up his face when he opens the door to find the older male standing there. “hyung!” taehyung exclaims in pure excitement, suddenly a little self conscience as he fixes his hair and steps to the side to let hoseok in. the younger bites his lip, clearly more affected than he should be with hoseok’s arrival. it was true, he’d never be upset with hoseok’s surprise visits, but instead he gets so wound up because he’s absolutely infatuated with his friend.

it’s embarrassing, how taehyung lets himself go when he’s around hoseok purely out of his fondness for him. he truly feels like he can be himself, his childhood self, around him. hoseok just has that kind of presence, a safe haven, really. perhaps it’s one of the reasons he so easily fell for the other boy, even though he’s highly aware they couldn’t be together.

“why’d you come? i mean-- i’m happy you’re here, but you always come without notice,” he rambles uselessly, closing the door behind hoseok, unable to keep his eyes off of the male, really. it’s been a little while since he’s seen his friend, and he didn’t realize how long it was until he laid eyes on him again. “did you walk here? it’s too cold to be walking around...” taehyung stops himself before he continues to babble about hoseok, instead busying himself with staring at the containers ( of food? as taehyung can smell ) the older brought instead.
