Hike number 1: Decided to keep a running tally of the number of hikes I’ve done this year. Of course I picked the coldest day of the entire month to go for a hike. Large animal overnights ✅ Nothing like a 17-hour night to round off the week (guess that’s karma for not getting called in overnight during my surgery and medicine rotations)! 2 week preceptorship at Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center ✅ It was good to get to know my local emergency and speciality hospital and the amazing doctors and staff there. Diagnostic imaging ✅ I learned so much more than I expected to in the last two weeks. After spending a week in Lassen Volcanic National Park it might be my new favorite (sorry Crater Lake). Even though 69% of the park burned last year, it’s still a pretty incredible place. It’s basically a mini version of Yellowstone without the crowds. Oncology ✅ Definitely my favorite rotation so far. It was amazing to see all of the compassion the oncology department has for their patients and all of the dedication owners have for their pets.
