For Halloween, some Reynolda House staff are dressing up to go with objects at Reynolda. Chick decided to go as a Christo and Jeanne-Claude piece, inspired by “Valley Curtain.”

Birds of all ages got to boogieing on the dance floor.

Chick and her husband were very clear that there would be no smashing of cakes into beaks for them during the reception.

Chick thought that the prepared toasts at her wedding were just lovely—heartfelt and humorous.

After the wedding, Chick, her husband, and their guests enjoyed a reception with a buffet dinner. Chick had to be really careful to protect her pearls and feathers as neat eating is not her forte, and it wouldn’t do to have a big stain as the bride.

It being a Quaker ceremony, all of Chick and her husband’s guests signed a wedding certificate made for the occasion, noting that they witnessed the occasion.

It was a beautiful ceremony, if Chick may say so. She and her husband had a lovely wedding, surrounded by friends and family. There were readings, beautiful music, and messages given. Promises made and tokens exchanged.

When Chick was talking with her feather stylist right after she and her friend got engaged, they were talking about wedding fashion choices. Chick said she figured she’d just style her own feathers, but her stylist said, “Chick! I’ve been your stylist for years! You have to let me do your feathers on your WEDDING day!!!” She was 100% right, so Chick got well-styled before her big day.

After rehearsing for their wedding, Chick and her friend joined their family and other wedding participants for a lovely rehearsal dinner and a festive welcome party. They got to see and meet each other’s friends and family. Food, fellowship, and merriment ensued.

Chick is finding that making a wedding invite list is harder than she thought. She wants to have ALL the people and animals share in her day, but practical limitations impede. Sigh.
