"Tutorial" on how to draw an OC with dwarfism (well, some of it).

Boring tired disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is an introductory "drawing" "tutorial" and has some generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. Which happens to be true for everything in general.

You are heavily encouraged to do your own research because this does not contain everything you should know before making a character with any type of dwarfism.

I know that actor/creator Cole Burkhart did a few essay-style videos on specific shows, but in terms of Youtube, that's the best I've got, or could find with the resources I have to hand. I know that quite a few creators have made briefer articles, alas the places these were published generally don't exist anymore - The great tragedy of the 2010 blog era is just how much good journalism was nuked from orbit once it stopped making money so that the URLs could be used for gambling ads.

we are looking to host a panel in the coming month for audio drama fans and creators, but we need participants! the topic for our panel will be creating compelling characters in audio dramas.

to find guests, we’d love to host them through fan recommendation, so head to this google form link and shout them out there! we would prefer it if you do not recommend yourself. that being said, feel free to recommend other creators that have inspired you!

My self-imposed deadline for nominations was going to be August 15, however there isn't a ton of people nominating other creators (but plenty of people nominating themselves lmao), soooo I will close the form on Sunday instead!!! Nominate someone here! Thanks!

Came across this art installation, Liza Lou's Kitchen, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. It's a kitchen made of tiny glass beads, that artist Liza Lou did, taking 5 yrs. to complete, from 1991 - 1996.

My favorite part is the sink.

Body Horror: Things that cannot happen in real life. EX: The Thing, stomach mouths, eyes on hands, etc

Gore: Fresh injuries, often severe. EX: Severed leg, gutspill, deep gashes, etc

NEITHER: Healed injuries and burns, congenital differences, missing appendages, etc. If I could theoretically go to the store and see that character browsing the isles- It isn't body horror or gore. That's just a person. *AND the amount of people that tag, not just fictional characters, but real human beings as body horror is staggering. Its not solely a fandom issue, ableism and bigotry against anyone that looks sufficiently "different" is prevalent in real life and has devastating consequences.
