annabeth brings a ton of olives to go on quests for snacks (they exist! they’re in little applesauce containers)

she shares them with percy, but begrudgingly 

percy, eating her olives: i dont even really like olives 12 yr old annabeth, reactive and down a cup of olives: how fucking dare you

when someone asks why she eats so many olives she has a whole spiel about how olives are healthier than chips and it leaves so many more questions than answers

she has and will fight people on if olives are good or not — they’re GREEK demigods, they should all be of the same opinion here

the athena cabin is just PACKED with olives they have a whole set of shelves devoted to olives they have an olive supplier 

like half the cabin has olives as a stress food 

stressed? olive time. 

percy sees like three empty cans of olives on annabeth’s desk during finals week once and is like “should i be worried?” and she starts to go into her “healthier than chips” rant but he interrupts her and is like “oh no, not about your physical health” 

athena cabin initiation ritual where newly claimed campers have to try one of each olive type to see which is their favorite so they know what to stock 

even if you think you already have a favorite you have to do it

malcolm is always trying to get people to try the more unique ones (”would you like to try taco? what about sriracha” and annabeth kicks him) 

meetings in the athena cabin take place over a bowl of olives

(percy witnesses this once and is like  ‘this is wack’

annabeth: olives are a symbol of peace percy: you mean an olive branch annabeth: which olives are part of)

percy watches that meeting and is like these vibes…off… as annabeth insists that olives are perfectly normal and he’s like yeah but.. 

annabeth’s bagel order is a black olive bagel toasted with cream cheese at this tiny little bagel place her and percy frequent

(off topic, but percy and annabeth argue over if long island or nyc bagels are better whenever they get bagels. this is a real argument. i witnessed this argument when i lived in long island)

annabeth: stop making it weird! i like olives a normal amount, mr blue food percy: [gasps]

annabeth: downs a cup of olives while staring percy dead in the eyes percy: slowly sips a blue coke grover: i thought we were getting coffee

percy once tries to talk to grover about this and if it’s weird and is like “should i be concerned?” and grover is actively chewing on an olive can 

percy bribes grover with coke cans, annabeth bribes him with aluminum olive cans

percy tries to come up with an anniversary gift for annabeth once and is blanking and is like “what if i just give her more olives” and grover’s like “you cant JUST give her olives. but that could definitely be part of it” 

when they’re older, at bars percy will only order annabeth drinks with olives in them, even though they (usually martinis) aren’t necessarily her favorite, but she thinks its funny and sweet
