Neighborland Process
Art Building Neighborland: moodboards, brief, sticky note illustration mock-up, notes.
Here's a peek at some of the 30+ illustrations I'm working on for the History of Engagement timeline.
The History of Engagement is a project by Jen Delos Reyes and is a timeline of the Portland Art Museum from 1909 to now - documenting the unique ways that the museum has encouraged and facilitated public interaction and engagement. From Romanian family days and private dinner parties, to workshops, classes, city planning events, in-gallery demos, tours and more.Â
About halfway done with these hand done brush illustrations so far! Woo!

Talking About Museums in Public is a project by Jen Delos Reyes as part of her residency at the Portland Art Museum. It is a collaboration of 6 different artists who are thinking and talking about the role of the museum in people's lives in the 21st century.
The project will take place in the month of June at the PAM and around Portland. For the entire month of June, one month Trimet bus pass holders will receive free admission to the museum. Ads for this project will be in Trimet buses and on bus benches.
Along with ads, we are creating a catalog that will be available in June.
More to come soon!
Here are the deliverables for the PSU to Mt Hood walking class going on this summer! It had fun creating the hiking icons for use on the posters and website.

Director Search Roundtable Slides
These are some slides from the Director Candidate Student Roundtable presentation I gave early in the term. I was trying to emphasize the wide range of events that we do, our community interaction/support, and our social media presence.Â

GD Team - Be Honest Images
Here are the first two images of the Be Honest campaign that Julie, Seth, and I worked on and Dan photographed. Look for an expanded campaign soon!Â

Working on some sketching for the Arlene Schnitzer Scholarship.
Things are really taking shape here on our mini set. We are getting ready to shoot the second part of our Art Department video series.
Here are some process shots for the second part of the A+D Scholarships campaign. Creating a new set of phrases for the second phase was a fun process that brought giggles and laughs to the people in the studio. Although the proofing process was a bit of a challenge, in the end it was finished. The production of the handouts was also a tedious and laborious portion. And the rewarding part of it all is that once they were placed throughout the art areas they disappeared the same day. Meaning the deliverable was successful in catching the attention of students and spreading the word about the second step of the application process, or it could have been the buttons. All in all, the overall process was a great learning experience.
Here are some preliminary sketches for the illustrations I'm working on for the History of Engagement timeline project, which will live in the Portland Art Museum Library.
In the '30's, the museum used to have Girl Scout and Campfire tours, and the cowboy is for an illustration called 'Take Down Hoedown' - the museum held an event to take down art in the museum and everyone dressed up in country garb and listened to country music.
More illustrations of these quirky moments in the museum's history to come!
