Marcus Adler

Marcus Alder was raised in Roseport from the day he was born, his family lived in the town for a few generations as far as he knows it. His parents were high school sweethearts that never went a day without one another and seemed to have all the love in the world for one another. They ran the local diner together and were content in their life, neither too low in the rank of the pack nor too high, they didn’t seem to mind it. Marcus himself grew up well, kind to any that showed him the same respect and even those who didn’t, it was only ever when pushed that Marcus ever acted back violently. He was praised often for being rather even tempered, however when his younger sister was born a spark of protectiveness washed over him. Being a whole ten years older than her, he took it as a personal mission to ensure her safety, much to her annoyance. 

While his parents were interested in the dealings of pack politics Marcus felt differently, pack is important to him, outside of his biological family. He wanted to learn everything he could to ensure they were all okay and safe. He at times doubted that was how his alpha felt, it seemed the man was more about power and numbers than he was about the general welfare of his people. Marcus went out of his way to help those who needed it, small matters or larger and eventually he found himself hanging out with those closer to the alpha. In doing so he saw humans being taken from bars or late hikes on the trails, forced to endure the bite and see if they would survive. The facts of this turned Marcus’ stomach and felt someone needed to do something.

None of the other wolves who knew seemed to want to step on any toes where the alpha was concerned and remained silent. At the end of his rope Marcus had two choices, bring in the slayers to deal with pack matters or take those matters into his own hands. He tried to think how he would feel if he were a human and they took his sister, played with her life like they did with others. The thought made a sour taste in his mouth and he had little choice but to call the alpha out in front of the pack. A number of them raised their hands sheepishly about wanting to end the alpha’s rule and his playing with lives, a vote was cast.

However there was little to stop the alpha from snapping when his position was being challenged and by something like a vote? He scoffed at the idea and determined that the only way to squish this was to end Marcus. The bloody battle ensued, filled with snarling fangs and tuffs of fur, yipping and barking when finally one form slammed to the ground. Marcus, younger and less filled with anger, he struggled to get his paws under him. Shifting back to his human form the alpha let out a throaty sound as if laughing even as a wolf. Charging at him Marcus rolled out of the way and kicked the wolf hard, right into the window of the diner’s large glass panels, large shards of glass fall slicing into the alphas throat. 

Panting from the surge of adrenaline coursing through his body Marcus also felt a number of other things suddenly; worry, fear, disgust. Nothing that would have been odd given the circumstances of the events unfolding, however looking up and scanning the crowd that formed Marcus caught sight of a local witch, a friend of his younger sister in the crowd staring at him causing a stronger surge of those emotions sparking within his chest. A mating bond.
