it’s just past midnight when you hear it—three soft taps on the window, followed by silence.

the same pattern. always him.

you peel back the curtain, and there he is.

hood pulled low, messy hair, eyes catching yours with that familiar look—half mischief, half something you can’t name. the corner of his mouth lifts.

“you gonna let me in or make me regret walking over here?” he asks, breath fogging the glass.

you slide the window open without a word. he climbs in like it’s second nature—hoodie falling off his shoulder, fingers brushing yours for half a second too long.

you step back. he sits on your bed like it’s his, leans back on his palms, takes in the room like nothing’s changed. like he hasn’t been here three times this week already.

“couldn’t sleep?” you ask.

he shrugs. “was thinking too much.”

you don’t press. you just sit beside him. not touching, but close enough to feel the heat radiating off him.

then his hand finds your leg. gentle. slow. fingertips dragging just enough to make your breath hitch.

“about me?” you ask, quieter than you mean to.

he glances at you. no smirk now, no joke loaded behind his teeth. just—honest.

“yeah,” he says.

your eyes meet. he leans in, steady, no rush. his lips brush yours—soft, searching—and you kiss him back like you’ve done it before in dreams.

his hand slides to your waist, and you shift onto his lap without thinking.

like this is where you’re supposed to be.

the kiss deepens. your fingers slip under the edge of his hoodie, and he exhales against your mouth, the sound low and rough.

“i’ve wanted this,” he mutters, lips grazing your jaw.

you tangle your fingers in his hair and pull.

he groans. it does something to you.

you pull back just enough to look at him.

“stay.”

he breathes out a laugh—quiet, almost disbelieving.

“i wasn’t going anywhere.”
