“And you’re telling me this why? Can’t you tell I’m not interested.”

“Well that’s rude don’t you think? I was just trying to be nice.”

“Good job! Though you might wanna clean up your form a little bit.”

“Pretty close. It’s a movie. We should watch it some time.”

“Sounds like a plan to me! I’m always up for watching new stuff.”

“I’m not drunk. You’re drunk. I’m just… Flexible and proud.” Oh, she was definitely drunk - but admitting so seemed like it’d be admitting defeat. But now the ground was getting uncomfortable. “Why is the world shaking? Are you okay?” Maybe if she stopped moving around, things would shake less.

“I’m not drunk, I only had one glass of wine.” she said an amused expression on her face. “You on the other hand had quite a bit more. The world isn’t shaking Gwen, its just you. Do you need me to carry you or something?”

“Why would someone be tracking other people anyway?” she asked, genuinely curious. “Is it like… CIA, or FBI? I hear they track people. I never wear perfume, maybe that’s why the police haven’t found me yet. But for a few days I couldn’t shower or bathe so I was probably just as smelly then.”

“Because sometimes you just really need to find someone. Nah, not CIA or FBI at all, I mostly work alone. I don’t wear it either, I don’t see the point really. I think I smell just fine from showering. Why weren’t you able to shower?”

“Makes sense.  Most people don’t assume they’re gonna get tracked, though.”

“Well they should. We’re living in dangerous times my friend, dangerous times.”

“Nah, trust me - they ain’t. For example, I could smell Emma Frost miles away. But then again, that woman just doesn’t care.”

“The easiest way to track people from this school is to just pick up on the second-hand perfume smell from Emma. I’ve never met anyone that uses that much perfume.”

I...wow-oh god sorry Kitty. I didn’t realize you were..sorry. 

“People don’t tend to think about others tracking them. It’s not really a common experience for most people, y’know?”

“I guess you have a point though I still find it kind of dumb, I think everyone should be prepared for that sort of situation. In the day and age we live in it seems you need to be prepared for just about anything. I mean who woulda thought to be prepared for an alien attack up until recently?”

“Female dance troupe. A fictional one. You haven’t seen Donnie Darko?”

“Donnie Darko...? Is it a TV show or something?”

“Yes, oh my God, thank you.”  She groaned in relief.  “I thought I was going to go absolutely freakin’ bonkers if someone didn’t take care of that.”

“No problem Riley, I understand there’s nothing worse than that itch you can’t scratch. Luckily enough for me my claws help me reach just about anywhere I need to.”

“Of course not.  You’re just acting like it.”

“How exactly? I’m just being myself.”

Laura gave a chuckle before reaching in and scratching where the other girl had indicated. “Right there?” she asked, scratching lightly.

"I just jokingly said: hail hydra. and now everyone’s on my case, like chill the fuck out guys. it’s been so glum around here.”

Hydra isn’t a joke, that’s probably why people are freaking out.
