So he was valuable now was he? Sure, he had experience; he fought an entire war after all before arriving in this one. Maybe Nyx wasn’t so bad after all. It wasn’t going to do him any favors to point it out though.
Moving to the bush she pointed out, he peered at it. The plants in Nohr and Hoshido definitely looked like the plants back home. He’d believe the gods were just lazy enough to copy-paste all their designs in the grand scheme of every world for each realm they made, had he not already drawn parallels that this one exists in some form of his own timeline.
Whether that was past or future however, was beyond his scope of understanding.
“Oh hey.” Something else seemed to catch his attention, and he wandered slowly over to it. “These herbs right here, make a really nice tea. You can use them for curing sore throats and coughs, and supposedly they were used in many rituals and incantations by more superstitious folk to attune their minds to a different plane.”
with her raised brow, she almost gave him the most insulted look she could muster. of course she knew what that plant was, did he not realize she was AMONG the superstitious type? all mages had a small connection to the gods, and ghosts, and anything of the like. how else would they be able to pronounce the words the books held in them? they couldn’t all be good like nyx was.
❝ and an overdose of it could prove to be fatal, ❞ she commented, wishing she had the book of herbs with her just so she could find the page. ❝ just as nightshade can help in SMALL doses with sleep, it’s a deadly poison that can turn your insides to dust. unless the cough is truly that bad – or the throat is beyond comprehension – it’s not advised to use that plant too much. honey and lemon would do just fine. ❞
her tone with him was now notably softer, having him find one of her hobbies. just as much as she loved reading romance novels, books of herbs and such were good. with how many potions and concoctions she made, of course she had to be up to DATE with the latest in herbology. a small, delicate hand directed itself towards a bush with small berries on it. the leaves of the berries were more important however.
❝ if you ever find yourself in a predicament, then you rub those leaves on your wound and they’ll heal them quick. those are the MAIN ingredient in vulneraries. they won’t close it like the actual thing will, but they’ll keep it shut until you can get actual help. ❞
