honestly my fav part about writing rpf is just that there's so much 'source material' that i could probably sell you on almost any characterization so long as i have the evidence to back it up. real people offer up so much more nuance that you can point to to justify decisions, especially when your specialguy is a chronic liar!!!
pwentz almost never telling the truth about the most banal shit is the main thing that keeps me in business. as long as you get enough of his nuance and the baked-in issues of the era, you're good to go.

i will say, waterboarding is fairly erotic. it's essentially breathplay on crack. in a way. it'll come the day i also decide to do the gunplay fic of my dreams. and the bloodplay fic of my dreams. honestly there's a lot of fic wishlist items that could be solved by a kidnapping fic.
i do find it very funny that i have a cult following within your friend group and you're just the arbiter.
*also that's awesome, my friends just usually replace every gendered term with 'they' (e.g. "thank you, they", "go piss, they") so it's nice to branch out.
