The Night - Masterlisr and Introduction to the universe
â âş pairing: Jay x reader
â âş genre: fantasy, fluff, angst, found family, brotherly love, death of family, loss, heartbreak, swearing, smut.
â âş Introduction â âş Chapter one â âş Chapter two
On a continent in another universe you would find 13 kingdoms. These kingdoms are often parted into four different categories.
The seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
The times of day: Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night.
The elements: Wind, Water, Earth and Fire
and lastly; the Afterlife.
Each kingdom has specific magical abilities tied to the land itself. These abilities will always manifest in the royal families and give the kings and queens and their heirs a little extra power to help them rule their lands.
Every member of the royal families will have some sort of manifesting color that also tie them to where they belong. For some it might be red hair, for others it will be skin that glisten like pearls, or wings wider than said person were tall. For some it was the color of their eyes. These ties to the land is impossible to hide, yet one heir has managed to do exactly that.
To the lands specific creatures are tied, the most regular being the fae, since those are spread all over the land. This was beings like the panther shifters of The Night Kingsom, the sirens of The Water kingdom, the unicorns of Dawn and most importantly the souls of The afterlife.
Unlike all other kingdoms The Afterlife were one only the royal family had access to while alive, the remaining of people in all of the lands would only see what was waiting for them beyond that grey mist, when they had left the world to begin on a new journey.
You ran and you ran, so desperate to get through, to get to her. It didnât matter if it would cost you your own life. It didnât matter if it meant leaving this world before you were meant to. You just had to get to her.
But somewhere out there you heard someone call out for you, and as you passed out you couldâve sworn your heard a voice in the back of your mind, a voice begging you to hold on. To stay. To chose life. To chose him.
What a wierd dream one that kept returning.
â âş note: my loves my loves. did you really think you could get rid of me for more than a few days? ha jokes on you! this is the first introduction to a whole new universe, and itâs something Iâve been working on for months. I hope you all are as excited as I am for this.
â âş as always let me know if you wanna be apart of this taglist and please please donât hesitate to reach out, you have no idea how much it means to me.
I know this is one of my least liked things Iâve ever written, and to those of you that are waiting on an update I do apologize - but I am kind of expanding on this universe and for the first time ever itâs something Iâm trying to turn into a real novel. But I want to do it right, I want to do it justice. So itâs gonna take some time. I can however say that if I ever finish this - those on the current taglist will be the first ones to read it đŤśđź
âž note: Damn, I think this might be the longest soulmate au I've ever made - but he is my first ult and your girl had a LOT she needed to be included. As always, please like, reblog, comment and follow if you like the story, and the taglist for this is open so just make a comment if you want me to add you to it
When Namjoon turned 13 nothing showed up, nothing at all. There were no marks on his body, nor were there any thoughts in his head or pain in his body. And it wasnât that he didnât care, but his love had always been music, and the passion he had for that was more than enough to live a fulfilled life.Â
So instead of seeing his life as if he was missing out, he instead shrugged and moved on.Â
When he joined BigHit, when he met the boys and started living with them he realized just how much most of their lives revolved around their other halves and their marks, and for the first time he felt a ping of jealousy in his chest.Â
The initial conversation they had about it explained both quirks and physical attributes that they all had. Jin was looking in every reflective surface to potentially catch a glimpse of his other half, Jimin was a mess once a month from pain, and Yoongi? The scar over his one eye was suddenly less gory.Â
And when he told them that he didnât have one, all they had done was stare at him with pity. As if he was missing out on this incredible thing. He had tried to explain it was a waste of time to miss something you had never had, and even though he knew he was right, he couldnât help but wonder if he was missing out on something special.Â
He didnât mean to, but as time went on, he started to crave it, the promise of internal love, the promise of a future with someone, crave the one thing that he would never have.Â
You had heard the stories from your parents and the adults around you, and the excitement up to your thirteenth birthday was so high that everyone feared it would not live up to your expectations.Â
But when nothing came, and hadnât showed up almost a year later, you had cursed the fates for not deeming you worthy of the one thing you had always dreamed about.Â
You had mourned him, mourned the dreams and all that couldâve been, and then slowly moved on. But those that were closest to you could see it, there was a spark in your eyes that was gone, a lightness in your steps that had suddenly become heavy.Â
Instead of dwelling on it too much, you dived head first into your work, your passion and those platonic soulmates you found along the way.Â
And as they smiled and celebrated when they met their soulmates, you made sure to hide your tears of despair in the dark hours of the night.Â
It was a slow Monday morning, and you managed to drag yourself out of bed into the pouring rain to get to work, completely leaving your umbrella behind in your apartment. You didnât mind the rain, somehow it seemed to make everything slow.Â
There was a beauty to it, how the droplets of water hit the pavement and pooled together, how they left the greenery in this otherwise grey city more vibrant than it had been just a few hours earlier.Â
You turned your head towards the sky, hoping that it would wash away your sorrows, the loneliness, the depression that had taken root in your heart.Â
Maybe all you needed was a forever rain.Â
Namjoon was laying in his bed, slowly trying to rewind his mind and body after yet another tourstop, another city, another performance.Â
There was this feeling in his chest, one of anxiety he had a difficult time placing, it felt almost foreign, like it wasnât his.Â
He closed his eyes and focused on his breathing, something he had learned helped whenever he needed a bit of grounding, and then he felt a drop of water hitting his face.Â
His eyes shot open as he stared up at the ceiling. It fell down his face as a single tear, and when he tried to whisk it away, there was nothing there.Â
He slowly sat up in his bed, and then a layer, a silk sheet of emotions, wrapped around his entire body. The feeling was familiar, like something he had always carried around with him, only this time it felt as if it had been magnified.Â
The feelings crept in, the sadness and anxiety, the depression and hopelessness, and they were darker than anything he himself had experienced in a very long time.Â
It was devastating the feeling of isolation he had inside of him, the feeling of not belonging to anyone.Â
There was no doubt, this had to be you, this had to be his soulmate. So he cried silently over the fact that he had left you, that he had given up and just accepted life without you. Had you been able to feel it? His indifference towards you?Â
Or had you just assumed, like he had, that those lingering feelings that came out of the blue were just anxiety or random bursts of happiness or sadness?Â
Like always he dealt with his emotions by writing it all down, and as the sun started to rise outside of his window the songs he had composed were finished.Â
The first songs he had written weren't songs of love and happiness, but an acknowledgement of the pain he had caused you, that he saw the pain there, that he felt it, and that he from this moment on would help you carry it.Â
The week following your rainy Monday was different, very different. It was filled with hope, excitement and nerves. It was weird because there was not anything exciting going on in your life, everything was exactly like it had always been.Â
Until one afternoon; you had stretched your body, warmed your joints and were now on pointe in front of the mirror as you ran through your routine in your head.Â
People were talking, exchanging words of encouragement or just straight out gossiping about something, and then a slow piano started playing somewhere in the room, accompanied by the sound of rain, and your entire world stopped.Â
You felt chills running through your body as every hair stood up. A woman ran towards the sound and quickly turned it off, you made a mental note of asking her what the song was when the day was over.Â
âAny luck yet?â Yoongi popped his head into Namjoonâs room. He had very impromptu dropped a mixtape in the middle of touring, surprising everyone, his members especially.Â
Then he had told them all that he in fact had a mark, he just hadnât been aware of it which had led to loud cheers and hugs, even a few happy tears from Jimin. After that they had made sure to check in on him every now and then.Â
He shook his head with a somewhat sad smile. âNo, not yet. So I guess itâs safe to say that sheâs not armyâÂ
His older brother nodded with tight lips. âIâm sure sheâll find itâÂ
The leader only shrugged. âI doubt it. At the end of the day it was a long shotâÂ
Namjoon stood up and grabbed his phone from the table, flipping it open and then zoning out completely.Â
âWhat if she feels me, what if she has just chosen to ignore it, ignore me, as revenge for not feeling her all these years?âÂ
Yoongi slowly walked into the room. âYouâve wanted this for longer than youâve dared to admit, haven't you?â He laid a hand on his leader's shoulder, it was a touch of both support and comfort.Â
All he got in return was a small nod.Â
âIâve met very few people in my life that have been as in touch with their emotions as you. Youâve always known how to express yourself, known how to listen to what youâve felt and rationalized those feelings, hell youâve even acted on them when that was what was needed. Iâm sure that she is similar to that, for some reason your mark just hasn't really shown up before now. That has nothing to do with you, and Iâm sure as soon as she feels it, she will be as grateful as you areâÂ
He didnât say it often but Namjoon had always valued the way Yoongi always knew exactly what to say, at the exact time that the people around him needed it the most.Â
âThank you hyungâÂ
All he got was a smile return, and he quickly followed the scarred rapper out of the room to join him and his members for dinner.Â
You had gotten the song name, and were now seated in your apartment alone with your hand hovering over the play button.Â
âWhy am I nervous? Itâs just a songâ you whispered to no one.Â
Your cat made a small noise in acknowledgement, and came to you, gently laying down in your lap as she started to purr, almost instantly calming your nervous system.Â
Then you pressed the screen and the sound of both raindroplets and the sound of a piano slowly played, and then a voice started rapping.Â
The voice was raspy but at the same time it felt like it had been dipped in honey. It spoke to your soul in a way no music previously had. One song led you to the next and before you knew it you had listened to the entire mixtape.Â
You opened your computer and found the translations, and then you cried. It was as if the artist had taken everything you had ever felt, and managed to put it not only into words, but notes as well, as if he could feel your emotions. Â
It was beauty and it was art, and you were hooked and absolutely ready to dive head first into this artist's discography.Â
The search for the translation had led to a deep dive into the artist and the second he appeared on your screen your heart stopped and for the first time in your life you felt the pull.Â
A pull that up until this moment had only ever been described to you. It was a need and a want all at the same time, as if you were both seen and saw him for exactly who you were.Â
âKim Namjoonâ you whispered, and as if it was all it would take, for you to speak his name you felt a silk sheet cover your body, and emotions that werenât your own washed over you like a tidal wave.Â
For the first time in a very long time, the tears that now fell from your eyes were of happiness.Â
And as beautiful as this moment was, it left a lingering fear. Because how the hell do you get the attention of your soulmate, when heâs in the biggest band on the planet?Â
They had been walking around on stage, when he felt you. It was stronger than the days leading up to it, it was a feeling of pure joy, relief and love that rushed over him.Â
He had stopped in his tracks and closed his eyes as he flung his hands around his own body, as if you were there with him. Almost as if he just hugged himself and your emotions tightly enough you would be able to feel him.Â
Jimin was the first to notice that their leader was no longer with them, and when he looked his way, his eyes disappeared into well-known crescent moons.Â
He gave Hoseok a small nudge which led to a squeal and the attention of the remaining members was suddenly on the mess of a man that stood a few meters from them all.Â
Jin ran up to him first and wrapped his large hand around his friend's neck which forced his eyes open.Â
âI think she found the songâÂ
It was all he was able to say before the relief and happiness washed over him, all the while his brothers celebrated around him.Â
He wellowed in it, soaked every drop of happiness into the very depth of his soul, and despite not quite knowing how this mark of yours worked, he did his best to send every bit of joy he felt, down through that bond that now bound the two of you together.Â
You had felt him instantly, which had only made your heart swell even more, and after a long night, a few bottles of wine while you updated your girls on the events that were your soulmate, you had all come up with a plan.Â
It still felt weird. Your soulmate. You still had to pinch yourself whenever you felt his emotions, scared that this was all a dream you just couldnât wake up from.Â
The days had turned into weeks, and after having danced so hard your feet almost bled, you were finally ready, ready to leave a trail of breadcrumbs out for him to find.Â
You took one last look at yourself before you gave a nod to one of your best friends and as soon as the music started, you danced to the tunes written to you by your soulmate.Â
The following days your social media pages exploded, you had uploaded your dance covers on every app you could think of. Hopeful that one of them would make his way to him, and that he would feel the same pull towards you, as you had felt the second you had laid eyes on him.Â
Army had been your biggest support through all of this, they had complimented the way you had interpreted Namjoonâs mixtape by sharing it, posting reactions to them, and most importantly tagged every member more than a thousand times in every post.Â
Now all you could do was wait.Â
Hoseok had been casually scrolling through his Tiktok when he had gotten a dm from a dance friend of his with a link to a series of dance covers by a ballerina, to the song written by his younger brother.Â
He had watched them all, over and over again. Studied your movements almost as much as he has studied your expressions. Because there was a dancer who understood in her very soul what the songs were about.Â
The second he had felt confident enough, that this was in fact what he thought it was, he had slid into your dmâs with a message as simple, yet significant as: I think I know someone who would love to meet you.Â
It was the worst possible timing, they were all slowly getting used to the new city, the new stadium. They were all getting ready for the show that very night, but he didnât really care much about any of it, because this was more important.Â
He found Namjoon sitting in the beauty room, scrolling on his phone as he ignored the chaos around him.Â
Namjoon had told them time and time again the past few days that you were feeling nervous as well as excited.Â
From what he didnât know, all he knew was that whatever made you feel this way, would work out, and Hoseok felt a sense of pride having been the one to discover it.Â
He gave the wide shouldered man a gentle tap on his arm to get his attention, and as Namjoon looked his way he gently gave him the phone with a subtle little smile.Â
Namjoon himself had done his best to scour the internet from any sign of you, but so far he had come up empty handed.Â
The second he had gotten Hoseokâs phone in his hand, he had stopped breathing. Because right there on his screen was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.Â
You were elegant, beautiful incarnate, with a subtle hint of both happiness and nervousness written on your face and in your movements, and there was no doubt that you were his.Â
He slowly stood from his chair as he scrolled through his entire mixtape, interpreted by your movements and very own form of art. He had never felt more special, nor more proud than in this exact moment.Â
When he finished he swallowed once.Â
âWhere is she?â he said with a lump in his throat.Â
Hoseok shrugged once as he peeled his phone out of his brother's hand. âI donât know yet, but Iâve written her a messageâÂ
Namjoon pulled out his own phone and with shaking hands tried to open the app to hopefully get in contact with you himself.Â
A small ping was heard from the sunshine man's phone, and as he turned it towards Namjoon, a small message there read: âI think you doâ followed by a phone number.Â
With shaking hands Namjoon dialed the number, and the other end of it picked up before it even managed to ring once.Â
He didnât say anything, and neither did you. For 7 seconds, he just stood there as you heard you breath on the other end, as he felt how nervous and excited you were at the same time.Â
âWhere are you?â He managed to say, swallowing once more to hopefully buy himself some time to think of something a little more original to say.Â
A subtle laugh was heard on the other end. âHi NamjoonâÂ
He smiled then, wider than he ever had. His dimples were on full display, as his cheeks started to hurt, all the while his heart swelled.Â
âHi babyâ he said as the people around him broke out in cheers. The cameras had been turned on and all turned his way, when that had happened he didnât know, and he didnât really care, all that mattered right here and now was you.Â
He felt the flutters of your heart all the while calmness and pure joy enveloped him in that now well known silk, that he knew as your emotions.Â
âWell to answer your question, Iâm actually in the same place as you are⌠Not in the stadium of course, but the cityâ
He removed the phone a little from his face as he screamed silently. This was perfect.Â
âHow soon can you get here?â He asked, he knew it was a long shot, but he had to try.Â
You laughed and he was certain he had died and gone to heaven right then and there. âIâm pretty sure your concert is sold outâÂ
He chuckled. âThatâs not what I askedâ he said back in the most lovingly teasing voice he could.Â
He could feel his heartbeat pick up as he awaited your answer.Â
âIâm currently at work, but if you have the time, maybe we could figure out how to meet tomorrow?â you said, he could almost feel how you bit your lip in anticipation, oh and how he hated he wasnât there to see it.Â
âSend me the address, Iâm coming to get youâÂ
It was a long shot, he knew that, but he didnât really care.Â
All he heard was that musically laugh, one he knew would be the inspiration for songs to come.Â
âDonât you have more important things to do right about now?âÂ
He looked at his members, his brothers, and how they all gave him encouraging nods.Â
âNo, you are the most important thingâÂ
You were silent for a few seconds. âOkay, Iâll send you the address"Â
âStay where you are, Iâm on my wayâÂ
He didnât want to hang up, if he could he wouldâve climbed through his phone and out to you on the other side, unfortunately that wasnât happening. So instead he hung up, pulled his members into a group hug with the promise that he would be back before the concert started.Â
Then he turned on his heel and sprinted towards the exit.Â
You were sitting in the lobby at your work, silently bouncing your leg as you felt your heart almost beat out of your chest. In record time you had managed to shower, and make yourself presentable.Â
It wasnât that you had been a complete lost cause, but you wanted him to find you captivating and beautiful. Luckily the women around you had come to your aid, and now your eyes were fixated on the door.Â
Like you, Namjoon was completely unable to sit still in the car that was taking him to you. He was constantly fiddling with his clothes, his hair, his phone. All the while his eyes were fixated on the world that passed by around him.Â
When he finally arrived at his destination, he took a deep breath before opening the door. His mask was on, no need to give the entire world the possibility of watching this. It was something he wanted to be as private as possible.Â
He saw you before you had noticed him. The way you kept twisting your rings, the way your legs bounced, the nerves and excitement that roamed through you.Â
It made him lose his breath.Â
The second he felt that need, that bond almost snapping into place, the second he felt love run through himself, he saw your eyes snap up from your hands.Â
He walked through the doors as you slowly stood up from the chair.Â
The two of you were going slow, almost as if you were afraid that the other one would disappear if you walked too fast.Â
He towered over you as you stood in front of him. The photos you had seen of him didnât do him justice. He was huge. Both in hide and in width.Â
He slowly peeled off his mask and revealed that dimpled smile of his, as his eyes almost disappeared.Â
You had no idea why, but that was all it took for you to throw yourself into his arms. You didnât know if it was the sheer strength of him, or if he had been able to predict your move, but he didnât even sway.Â
Instead he just flung his arms around you, gently picking you up off the ground as he buried his head in the crook of your neck.Â
When he finally set you down on the ground again, your hands came to caress his cheeks, gently poking those dimples with your thumbs, earning you a laugh.Â
âHello thereâ you said, as you gently brushed away his tears, all the while you did your best to not let your own fall.Â
He leaned down and rested his forehead against yours, all the while his arms snaked around your waist, pulling you closer to him.Â
The two of you just stood there like that for a few minutes, before he finally pulled himself together, flung an arm around your shoulders, grabbed your bag and slowly walked out of the lobby with you by his side.Â
It was this quiet dominance, authority that made your entire spine shiver in anticipation of what else he would be able to do. Especially when the two of you were alone.Â
Namjoon laughed. âBaby, pull your head out of the gutter or I will devour you on the backseat of my carâÂ
You pulled away from him and looked at him with shocked eyes. He just chuckled in response. âI can literally feel your emotionsâ he bend down and whispered, âthat includes lustâÂ
The blood rushed to your cheeks as you blushed, turning both your cheeks and ears as red as a tomato.Â
âOh my god, I didnât even think of thatâ you responded as you hid your face in his shirt.Â
âTrust me, I donât mind it at all, but how about we wait with that part until weâre aloneâÂ
You felt it then, the need and lust he too felt. You pushed him gently. âStop thatâÂ
He chuckled once more before kissing the top of your head. âAnything for you babyâÂ
You had arrived at the concert, and he had introduced you to his six brothers all while beaming as if he was the sun itself.Â
They had all welcomed you with hugs, questions and overall excitement. Excitement that was so contagious you soon were bussing with it.Â
Namjoon made sure to always have your hand in his, an arm flung around your shoulders, or having you leaning against his chest as he gently rested his chin on the top of your head.Â
And despite the chaos of dancers, stylists and muaâs, he managed to make it all feel like the safest place you had ever been.Â
He had made sure you got a seat where you could see him at all time, and he had made sure his front was towards you every second.Â
It was nerve wrecking for him to be on stage. He so hoped that you would feel pride and awe in what he did, in what he loved. Luckily it was only that and deep love and respect he felt through your shared bond the entire concert.Â
All those feelings made him give it a little extra, an effort that was definitely appreciated by army as well as you.Â
The ride from the venue and back to his hotel wasnât the longest, and the feeling of having him close was even more amazing than anything you had ever dreamt of.Â
The two of you were quiet, not really wanting to speak before you were alone, there was so much that needed to be said, so much he needed to apologize for.Â
You could feel the nerves and the guilt eating away at him, but you also knew that just because you were able to know exactly what he was feeling, didnât mean that he was ready to talk to you about it yet, so instead you waited.Â
âItâs cozyâ you said as you entered his room, looked around on his exploded suitcase and all the little things that were scattered throughout the room.Â
You sat down on the bed and sent a smile his way, hoping it would make him open up.Â
He sighed once before leaning his head back, looking into the ceiling. âIâm so sorry,â he said.Â
You perked up at that, sitting a little straighter than you had a second ago.Â
He ran his hands through his hair before finally looking at you. âIâm so sorry I didnât feel you before, Iâm so sorry it took me this long to notice you were out there. Iâm sorry that Iâve put you through so much anxiety, so many nights spent alone thinking I would never comeâÂ
You saw how the tears welled in his eyes, how they threatened to fall any second.Â
Instead of saying anything you just reached out for him, and he followed instantly, sitting down on his knees before you on the floor. His arms flung around your waist as you gently ran your hands through his hair as he cried, gently scratching his scalp with your nails.Â
You sat like that for a few minutes, until his breathing steadied. The you pulled him away from your chest and rested your hands on his cheeks, once again caressing those dimple of his.Â
âIt takes two people to share a bond, and I didnât notice you either, sure you mightâve been busier, but I shouldâve been there for you as well, as support on stressful days, as a cheerleader in the back of your head, always cheering you on. We have a lot of catching up to do, both of us, but we also have a life to make it rightâÂ
He smiled, and you returned it before pulling him closer, gently rubbing your nose against his.Â
His eyes changed them, from loving and adoring to dominant and almost dragon-like, they got dark and the need he felt for you flushed over you was like a tidal wave.Â
âCan I kiss you?â he whispered, teasing you by drawing circles into your hips with his thumbs.
You swallowed once before you nodded. He didnât hesitate, not even a second. Instead he quickly closed the distance between the two.Â
His lips was soft, gentle as if he was savoring something sweet, slowly taking his time to feel every emotion, feeling and taste.Â
The emotions were overwhelming, so much that the two of you needed to take a break. He slowly climbed over you, gently helping you scoot back onto the bed. He gave you a small peck as he smiled.Â
âI love that I can actually feel how I make you feelâ He said as he gently nippled on your bottom lip.Â
The lust slowly crept over him, he pulled away once more with a raised brow. âOh? You like that huh?âÂ
âYou could do anything to me Namjoon, and I would love itâÂ
He closed his eyes and hid his head in the crook of your neck. âSay my name againâ he almost whispered.Â
The kind command made you smile and a giggle threatened to spill past your lips but you held it back as you whispered his name into his ear.Â
âFuck, youâll be the death of meâ he said as you saw how his pupils had completely taken over his eyes, somehow making them even more deadly than they already were.Â
He gently let one of his hands from your ankle up to your thigh, before he flung it around his own waist, the sheer weight of it pulled him closer to you.Â
âThe question now is babyâ he kissed right below your ear. âIf-â a kiss a little lower down your neck, and he kept that going with every word he said. â- youâll. Let. Me. Devour. You?âÂ
He felt your need and your want for him, before you pulled him away from your neck and kissed him passionately, slowly letting go, letting yourself indulge in this with him.Â
The two of you had been rolling around in the sheets for hours upon hours, only taking small breaks to catch your breaths before starting once again.Â
You were curled around his side, your head resting on his giant chest.Â
âI think this is my new favorite pillowâ he laughed loudly before kissing your somewhat sweaty brow.Â
âGood, because I would definitely want you to sleep in my arms as often as possibleâÂ
You turned to look at him, he gently started running a hand up and down your spine, gently caressing the skin beneath his fingertips.Â
âIt feels like a dream, being here with youâÂ
You saw how his eyes shone with both sadness and adoration. He sat up and kissed you tenderly. âI promise you itâs not. I promise that Iâm here, that Iâll always be here. I promise that Iâll never leaveâÂ
One of his hands rested against your cheek and you leaned into it.Â
âLetâs make a deal, every now and then Iâll give you a small pinch, to remind you that this is real, that we are real?âÂ

When your first ult decides youâve strayed far enough and attempts to steal you back from every man who have laid a claim to your heart since 2021 - guys I fear he might be killing me
Hi, when will you be updating the seventeen soulmate fics ?
Girl I have no idea... at this point im only missing Mingyu, and I have an idea of how I want the story to progress, but I hate EVERYTHING I'm writing for him at the moment, which honestly is the worst... I don't know when it will be out - I can however say that I'm falling in love with my first ult all over again at the moment, which means I've officially begun the writing for the BTS soulmate series - this one will be a lot easier for me to write since I've basically have written some of it years ago and are now just rewriting some of the stories

⌠note: tell a friend to tell a friend, she's baaaaaaaaack!! I've rewritten this a thousand times, give me all the feedback you have, I'm desperate to hear what you think cause: ugh I love them!!
Vernon had always been known as a very nonchalant and chill guy to all those who knew him.
What most people didnât know was that he in fact loved deeper and protected those that he loved more than people usually noticed.Â
The love he showed people was quiet.Â
He showed it when he was a child whenever he took his sister's hand when they crossed the street. He showed it in how his door was always open if she had a nightmare or how he would help her with eating her vegetables when their parents looked the other way.Â
He showed love to his parents by listening to what they told him, he showed it to his friends when they were bullied and he stood up for them.Â
And when you and your family had moved in next door he had shown love by memorizing every single thing that you loved. Everything from the white flowers in his mothers garden, to the kind of chocolate you would always pick out from a bowl of sweets before anything else.Â
Vernon showed love in a lot of different ways, and he had known from the moment he met you, that he loved you.Â
The two of you had always understood each other, unlike most people you were not put off by his quiet nature. Instead you saw it as a safe place to be yourself, which had always meant you would talk his ear off with whatever had caught your attention that day or week.Â
And his favorite pastime was to listen to the things you had discovered and the things that brought you joy.Â
It didnât matter to him that people didnât understand him or his soul, because as long as you did, he knew that he would be okay.Â
As he had grown older his thirteenth birthday had started to loom over him as a dark cloud, it held so much promise and so much anxiety. So when he had woken without any kind of mark he had been a little disappointed at first.Â
But when your birthday had come and gone and no mark was on your skin either he clinged to the hope that the two of you were in fact each otherâs other halves.Â
The days following he had started to notice that he hurt himself more often than usual, which was weird because the pain usually seemed to come at times where he was certain he did in fact not stump his own toe.Â
And when he started to notice the bruises on your legs seemed to match where he hurt himself that hope in his chest grew, and despite that he grew more and more certain for each passing day, he never spoke up.Â
When Vernon had left his home behind to train under Pledis the two of you had hugged each other goodbye with tears in your eyes. And you had squeezed his hand thrice.Â
âIt means that I miss you, and that I love youâ you had said with a blush on your cheeks.Â
His heart had felt like it was about to explode right then and there. All he did was return the three squeezes and as soon as he had, he had caught you as you once again threw yourself into his arms.Â
The training was hard, it took stamina, motivation and a tough skin. The guys were all kind, and as the days passed they all got closer and closer.Â
When the talk of their soulmate marks finally came he had chosen to keep you to himself, not because you were a secret, they had all heard the stories of his best friend back home, but he was not ready to share the hope in his heart with anyone yet.Â
He was not ready for anyone to pressure him to confess the feelings he had. He was not ready for anyone to push him down a hole of despair if he was wrong. So instead his brothers knew you as his best friend.Â
It took years before anyone finally noticed how his eyes shone brighter when he talked about you, and how he had a special smile and laugh reserved for whenever he talked to you.Â
Joshua had been sitting in the studio while Minghao was in the booth, quietly observing his younger brother as you had been talking to one another on a facetime call. It had become a weekly occurrence after you had moved overseas. One he had explained as just wanting to keep in touch with an old friend, when Mingyu had asked with suspiciously raised brows.Â
As the time difference finally caught up to you, and you had fallen asleep, Joshua had seen how Vernon's hand had reached out to gently caress your cheek on the screen before silencing the call to not disturb your sleep.Â
âYou love herâ he had said with a quiet voice.Â
Vernon's head had quickly turned towards his brother in a panic, cheeks reddening as his brain tried to come up with an excuse for the action.Â
Joshua had only smiled at his brother. âIs she your soulmate?â He had asked as he crooked his head a little to the left.Â
Vernon had coughed once. âI donât knowâÂ
âSheâs your best friend, how can you not know?âÂ
He shrugged once as he completely left Minghao behind in the booth, leaving the man as one giant question mark when no music and no direction came his way.Â
âWeâve never discussed it. Iâve never had the heart to talk to her about it, because what if sheâs not? It would be devastating knowing she belonged to someone else, that she wasnât mineâŚâÂ
He looked down at his hands, completely avoiding his brother's gaze. Then the door opened and Minghao stepped in, and just as he was about to scold his producer for the day, he physically felt the tension in the room, and locked in.Â
âBut what if she is?â Joshua said as he moved over on the couch to make room for Minghao.Â
Vernon buried his head in his hands as he took a deep breath.Â
âLeave him Joshua, love is difficult enough, and Iâm sure he has thought over every scenario more than a thousand timesâÂ
He quickly looked up at his two brothers with raised brows. âHow did you know?âÂ
Minghao only laughed. âYouâre not exactly subtle you know? If it helps Iâm pretty sure the feelings are reciprocatedâÂ
That sentence made him smile as he leaned back in his chair and once again looked at your sleeping face on his phone screen.Â
âThey say you can physically feel a pull in your chest when you meet your soulmate, do you feel that with her?â Joshua asked.Â
He nodded. âIâve felt that with her since before I got my mark, but itâs been so long Iâm not sure if itâs something Iâve made up or if itâs actually thereâÂ
Minghao nodded before he once again stood up. âYou won't know until you tell herâÂ
Much like Vernon you were terrified that a confession would lead to you losing your best friend, because what if his mark was different from yours? It would be the biggest heartbreak.Â
So instead you had been subtle with your interest in him. You complimented for his music, which only seemed to make him pursue it more and suddenly he told you that he had taken your advice and had started producing and writing music.Â
You complimented his clothes one time and now it seemed that his entire closet was only filled with polo shirts and jeans.Â
You had thanked him one morning for staying on facetime with you even though you had slept for hours, and now he refused to be the one to hang up.Â
It was these small things that always made you wonder if he did in fact love you the way you had always loved him.Â
From the very beginning there had been a pull there, something that made you look twice whenever you heard his voice. A pull that made you know he had entered a room before he made himself known.Â
When his mark came he said nothing, and when yours came he didnât say a single thing either. For a while you wondered if that meant he didnât want it to be you, but he only seemed to give you more attention from that day.Â
When he moved away a part of your heart had moved with him, it felt as if you werenât quite whole, and when you moved overseas that feeling had taken up more and more space in that uncomplete heart of yours.Â
But those three squeezes you had given his hand when he had left, was now a part of your daily routine, because he had started to pinch his own hand thrice afterwards, an action you felt everyday.Â
When the guys started to find their other halves Vernon started to yearn for you even more than he had done before.Â
Both Minghao and Joshua had been slightly annoyed with him at first, his other half was right there, loving him just as he loved her, yet he refused to do anything about it.Â
Their annoyance had however disappeared as soon as they had found their other halves. Which had led to that exact moment of him now waiting for you in an airport.Â
He had invited you to stay with him a few weeks after Joshua had found his other half. You had some time off, and he missed you so terribly that he had personally bankrolled your entire trip.Â
Despite all of your protests, you had let him spoil you, because you too wanted to see him.Â
Vernon wasnât one to run to you in the airport, instead he stood in a corner with crossed arms, and the second you were within reach he had pulled you as physically close to him as he could.Â
Letting the smell of you engulf him as he took a minute to breath you in, all the while he tried his best to convince that little heart of his to calm down.Â
It was as if a part of his soul had returned to him, as if he for the first time in a year could take a full breath.Â
As the two of you pulled away from one another, he gently took your suitcase and with your now free arm you grabbed onto him as if you had done it every day of your life. You felt him stiffen beneath your touch, and for a second you considered if it was too much too soon.Â
But as soon as you started to let go of him, he captured your arm with his own, and you soon felt the two of you relax into each other's touch.Â
You had decided on the flight that this was the trip where you found out just who he was to you. If he was your other half, if he was your person.Â
The two of you talked all the way back to his apartment, and due to all the late night and early morning facetime calls there was no real awkward silence. You just picked up the conversation right where you had left it.Â
When you got there your stomach made a loud sound and you went straight for the kitchen, and slowly started pulling ingredients out of the cupboards all the while he sat down at the kitchen island to keep you company.Â
It was so natural being with him. It was a feeling of being both safe and feeling utterly excited all at once.Â
His phone made a sound. Have you confessed yet? the message read from Joshua.Â
He quickly shut his phone off, it didnât matter that you were too occupied with making dinner and couldnât see it.Â
No, he had planned all of this out. Tonight he wanted to just enjoy the two of you together, and tomorrow he would take you on a trip down memory lane, a trip through your friendship with one another, a trip through every major emotion he had ever felt towards you, and then he wouldâŚ
He felt the gust of wind coming from the door of the fridge as you slammed it shut. But before he had a chance to even look up and figure out just what you were doing, he felt the pain.Â
The pain of four of his fingers being caught in the door of a fridge. He winced from it, and without even thinking about it he was right there by your side in a second.Â
âAre you hurt?â he scanned your face, as he saw how the tears welled in your eyes.Â
His own hurt hand came to caress your cheek, and dry the tears away.Â
âWhat the hell are you thinking darling?â His eyes searched yours for answers as you didnât answer him with words.Â
Your tears just kept falling, so in the end he just pulled you into his chest as he gently let a hand run through your hair.Â
He heard you mumble something into his chest, he hummed slightly to make you repeat your words as he adjusted his stance so he could hear you without letting you go.Â
âYou felt itâŚâ It wasnât much louder than a whisper, but it was enough for him to stiffen.Â
He pulled you away from his chest and looked down at those still tearfilled eyes.Â
He took your hurt hand with his, and kissed the exact places the door had made contact. His own eyes had filled with tears so when he looked at you, his eyes mirrored his own.Â
âIâve felt everything, every tiny bit of pain, every sumped toe, every corner or door frame you have walked into. Iâve felt all of the pinches and squeezes that come in three that youâve sent my way. Iâve felt every bit of it, and Iâve hoped and hoped that it was you sending all the pain to me, so that I one day could feel the world's greatest pleasure of finally calling you mineâÂ
Your arms flung around his neck and he pulled you closer than ever before, fully ready to claim as much as you as you allowed.Â
It wasn't that this scenario was particularly funny, but the sheer relief of finally being able to express how you felt freely knowing that he felt the exact same, knowing that he always had.Â
He lifted you up from the ground and set you down on the kitchen table.Â
He kissed you left cheek once. Then your right. He nuzzled his nose against yours before finally looking at you with those eyes. Those dammed eyes.Â
He kissed your lips once, quick, then once more. For every kiss they became longer and more passionate, and before you knew it he had laid you down on the surface and were crawling over you as his lips claimed every bit of skin he had access you.Â
The sounds you made were the most beautiful thing he had ever heard, and he knew now that he would never run out of inspiration ever again.Â
The two of you had spent the entire night entangled in one another, catching up on years of intimacy.Â
Your head gently rested on his chest, as his hand gently caressed a shoulder. He was silent, just looking at the ceiling.Â
âHow am I ever gonna leave you tomorrow?â The question wasnât really aimed at you, but you twisted around and rested your chin on him as you took him in.Â
If you could, you would take a mental picture of him like this. Eyes shining, messy bed head and a subtle shine on his skin.Â
You smiled and he returned it before his hand left your shoulder for your hair and he gently started playing with it.Â
âWeâll have a lifetime to catch up on those few years we missedâÂ
You physically saw his pupils dilate. âSay that againâÂ
His voice was quiet, gentle.Â
âYou will have a lifetime with meâÂ
Vernon was anything but exhausted when he was finally back in the practice rooms of the HYBE building.Â
It was as if this had been the boost he had been missing. He was more energetic and more vocal than he had been in quite a while.Â
Joshua and Minghao had both given each other a knowing look when he had entered that morning with a smile on his face and that well known spark in his eyes. There was no doubt that your visit had gone the way they had all hoped that it would.Â
The two of you had made a plan, that you would stop by around lunch time and that he would finally introduce you to all of his brothers as his other half.Â
All thirteen of them had known and met you through both calls and facetime, but this would be the first time that you would actually meet.Â
He got more and more excited the closer the time came. And when he got the text message that you were officially on your way, that well known smile of his, was on full display.Â
âIâm assuming that everything went well?â Joshua said as he leaned against one of the walls, close to the corner where Vernon had fled to, to respond to you.Â
âYah, hyung⌠It was everything and more than I couldâve dreamed ofâ He looked up from his phone and smiled.Â
Joshua returned it. âSo when are you gonna introduce her to everyone?âÂ
âSheâs on her way, should be here soon. I just have to get her, her pass and everything so I might need to step out for few minutesâÂ
His older brother nodded. There was pride blooming in Joshuaâs chest, pride that his brother finally showed his love what he had held in his heart for so long.Â
âWhat did she say about the grand gesture?â He asked with a raised brow.Â
Vernon only smiled. âWe never really got that farâ it was almost as if he was taken back to that moment once again, as if he was reliving it once more.Â
His eyes glassed over, and he silently bit his lip.Â
âDamnâ Joshua said, and luckily for Vernon it was enough to snap him back to reality.Â
He felt it then, those three little pinches on his hand. He smiled and as he opened his mouth to speak the pinches continued.Â
It was panicked, desperate. His smile stiffened and his eyes lost all of itâs spark, to him it felt as if time itself were moving in slowmotion.Â
âSomethingâs wrong⌠Josh, find herâÂ
Then the pain hit his body, instant, out of the blue and overall all consuming, and everything became dark.Â
Something heavy was laying on his legs when he finally woke up, he moved and heard a silent whine as whoever the person was hugged him tighter.
He opened his eyes to find Chan there, silent but grateful tears streaming from his eyes.Â
âHyung, how are you feeling?â He said with a sad smile.Â
Vernon didnât respond, instead he searched every part of his soul for that small light that was you, and it was still there that thread of light that connected the two of you.Â
Jihoon laid a hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently. âTake your time little brother, we got youâÂ
And as Vernon looked around the room he saw half of his brother's eyes, all worried, some red, some tired.Â
Minghao ran a hand through his hair gently. âSheâs okay, sheâs in the next roomâÂ
Vernon tried to speak but his throat was too dry to get a word out.Â
âA car ran a red light, two streets over, Joshua was there before the paramedics, he and the rest havenât left her side sinceâÂ
It felt like a weight lifted off of his shoulders. You were safe, you were okay.Â
âHo-how l-loâ Was all he managed to get out before Seungcheol came with a glass of water.Â
âItâs only been one night, the last update we got was that she was still out like a lightâÂ
He tried to sit up but his entire body was sore and hurting.Â
âI need to get to herâ he said with a groan, if this was how he felt, he knew you were feeling so much worse.Â
It was his job to take care of you. His job to protect you. As much as he treasured his brothers for looking out for you, he needed it to be him.Â
âYou need to restâ Seungkwan said as he dried his nose.Â
âAre all of you seriously telling me you would not run to your soulmates had you been in my situation?â He couldnât help but laugh, but the sound was hallow, almost cold.Â
The six men looked between them, a silent conversation that ended with Seungcheol getting a wheelchair.Â
It took them so long to get him out of bed and over to the chair, and as soon as he was in it he was out the door.Â
Mingyu opened the door to your room with a little smile and a pad on his back. He was by the side of your bed in less than a second.Â
He reached out and grabbed your lip hand, and then the 12 members of Seventeen watched as their brother fell apart.Â
âDonât you dare never waking up from this, donât you fucking dareâ he said between the kisses he placed on the back of your hand.Â
Seokmin turned his eyes up to the ceiling to not let his tears fall.Â
âSheâs a fighter, sheâll come back to youâ Jun said as he gently stroked his brothers back with soothing strokes.Â
âYou are mine, and I am yours. In every life before this and every life afterâÂ
He gently raised a hand to remove a strand of hair from your face.Â
âYou promise?â A hoarse and low voice said.Â
âOh thank fuckâ it was the only thing he could think of saying, he could hear how the room shifted then, how his brothers left the room to give you the privacy you both deserved.Â
It didnât matter that his body ached every time he moved, nothing mattered except you.Â
He gently moved you enough so that he could fit on the bed you were laying on.Â
He could feel your body ache as you stretched your arms to hold him.Â
Every move he made was slow and focused on hurting you as little as possible.Â
âIâm so glad youâre okayâ he whispered into your hair as he breathed you in. Despite the very distinct hospital smells, you still smelled like you always had. You still smelled like home.Â
âIâm never leaving you - if we go we go togetherâÂ
He couldnât help but laugh. âThatâs a little morbid, donât you think?âÂ
He could feel your smile. âMaybe a little, but if you ask me I think itâs a brilliant planâÂ
As usual he had to agree with you.Â
As you recovered he never left your side. He was there to hold your hand through ever test and scan.Â
There was no doubt in your mind that the hospital staff couldnât wait until you were discharged, but he refused to let you leave before they had checked everything twice.Â
It meant that your first meeting, your first awake meeting, with all his brothers happened in a hospital room.Â
âJoshuaâ you said with a huge smile as he stepped forward with an otherworldly beauty on his arm. âI remember youâÂ
Joshua had gotten to you so fast that you could actually remember seeing his face before you passed out.Â
He nodded. âYeah, donât think Iâve ever moved as fast as that dayâ the woman next to him rested her head on his shoulder.Â
âMy heroâ she said as she pulled him close to her.Â
Vernon nodded. âMine tooâÂ
Your soulmate gently kissed your temple.Â
The guys had competed for second place, and had boasted proudly of just how they had taken care of you and Vernon the days after the accident.
Their bickering was entertaining, and absolutely hilarious. Vernon had to send them out multiple times because they made you laugh so hard that your whole body physically hurt.Â
The girls had been stoked that they now had a 12th sister to talk to, and each and every one of them had given you a little gift as welcome to the group.Â
Your heart felt full of love, and despite the room being filled to the brim most days it had everything to do with him.Â
Through it all he was there, right next to you, loving you, as he always had, as he always would.
⌠as always; please comment, like, share, reblog all of that. It what's keeps me going and keeps me writing. My asks are always open for feedback or if you just wanna give me a little praise.
