Like, here you have a team of people who have never created or run any sort of game/website/business before, and are clearly overwhelmed and making a lot of mistakes as they try to find their footing in a game that needs lots of bug fixes and improvements… 

This wasn’t originally the case in FR, early on in the game, the market for low-id dragons was so niche you could basically get them for nothing. When I started to collect them, I had people basically give their old dragons away to me because it offered them a fair balance between not really wanting their oldies anymore, but still being too sentimentally attached to exalt them. 

But, as time went on, interest grew. I can’t say for sure why, but eventually, it became a status symbol to have a dragon with 5ID or lower. So now, this is a thing, it’s mainstream Dragon Culture, a dragon can be valuable for its age alone.

So as new petsites open up, people who saw this happen in Flight Rising (Where birthdates and ID#s are prominently displayed on the site), assume that something similar will happen in the other sites, and there’s a rush to collect them quickly ‘before the price spikes’, effectively assuring that there will be a market for them, even on sites like Dappervolk where ID#s are so unnecessary and unrelated, they're only accessible through the URL.
