yes, inevitably, the system needs to be dismantled, but that’s not something that can be done with a snap of your fingers. going “fuck the patriarchy!” isn’t going to kill the patriarchy. you have to work to take away the systems in place that hold oppressed people down, otherwise there will be no progress. ignoring the “smaller issues” or whatever in favor of trying to jump to break the overarching system will go nowhere.

It’s hard to change your beliefs, but it is possible, and look no don’t want to sound like a grumpy old republican but a lot of the time you Do have to put facts over feelings. Our history isn’t a fun inclusive community, it’s about us vs them, it’s about fighting against homophobia and transphobia. There is an actual homophobia problem in the inclusionist community, but you’re diverting attention away from that. You’re also hurting your fellow exclusionists by spreading homophobic sentiments. the lgbt community was formed to combat homophobia and transphobia

that’s why there hasn’t been an a for asexual, or a + for mogai in it from the beginning

the first one mentioned wouldn’t face homophobia or transphobia on the basis of being ace. the second wasn’t a thing until recently because nobody had that much free time and (i mean this due to class, not other tumblr crap) privilege to worry that much

the lgbt community, and pride as an extension, isn’t a “hey you’re not normal, come join our slumber party”, it’s “hey, you got punched for being bi, she got thrown out for being trans, i got arrested for being gay, its illegal for us to exist, let’s uh idk stop that”

this isnt saying only lesbian, gay, bi and trans people experience discrimination. it’s saying that’s not the point. other people deserve communities to help their own issues. but an asexual won’t get the resources they need from the LGBT, as it wasn’t made to cater for their needs. they deserve their own community, to help their needs.
