this messed up vintage cat sewing pattern has tormented me since i saw it & like some other folks have done in that post - i tried my hand at tweaking the pattern to resemble the illustration (and my personal tastes) a little more. i've ended up with this, which i have only tested at a small scale and not this final version exactly (where i have done such things as further widening the cheeks and finalizing the leg shapes.) i bestow it upon you nice folks now 👐

My first attempt! I made the pattern a bit smaller as I wanted it to be able to fit in a pocket, but then (accidentally but perhaps unavoidably) sewed it with a wider seam allowance than the resized pattern indicated, so the face is proportionally a bit too big and I lost some detail in the ear shape. I'm pleased with it though! It was fun to make something and to do some handsewing.

Hello! I made a dress from scratch for the Renaissance Faire. It took me six months to make the chemise, hoop skirt, under skirt, over skirts, French knot embroidered bodice, crown and jewelry. I am very excited to wear it this year despite how serious I look in the photos!

My Distortion patch is almost done! My partner suggested the button for the door handle, I quite like it, and it'll be a nice figit. Especially since I plan to sew this patch over the outside of one of the pockets!

I wanted to try to fit a bunch of different patterns, one per color of thread. I felt like it was fitting.

My horrible dilemma

#chatter #or in other words #im making a skirt by machine specifically to practice #and having Opinions on it #i just personally like hand sewing more #its quiet #i can do it while hanging out with people way easier #its very relaxing to me #especially running stitches and back stitches #whip stitches are nice too #and i have much better and more direct control over how the stitches look #its still nicer then pressing seams to me at least
