A Camera Obscure

My first time working with a willing model; a novel experience.

The kind of thing that couples do. 

I like to call this series 'A Taste of Honey.'

He doesn’t have body image issues.  After living together so long, I would know.  We’ve had sex a few times now in various states of undress, and he has demonstrated a charming but not pathological degree of shyness at revealing himself.

He has no issues with photographs as a concept.  He certainly enjoys assembling collages of saccharine Christmas photos from friends and relatives every year, and he reacted well enough when I texted him my self-portraits.  Particularly the nude set.

So. Why do I get shoes thrown at me every time I try to take a photograph?

He doesn’t think he looks good.

This horrible thing. If it were possible for something to be bland to the point of offensiveness, this would be it. What was he thinking when he purchased it? It is a mystery even to me.

I did manage to get a more successful recording later, but I am not sharing it.  That one is mine. 

Observing my subject in his natural habitat. I do so enjoy a look of deep concentration. 

It seems that my subject is aware that he's being watched. No matter. His resistance is an exercise in futility.

Every failure is one step closer to my inevitable triumph.
