xmen parables are particularly obnoxious bc they force the wrong conclusion. charles is always saying stupid shit like violence begets violence and is therefore always wrong and erik indiscriminately kills anyone who opposes him instead of just the people trying to genocide him. charles telling erik that the soldiers at cuba were "just following orders" was basically the last time the story challenges the wisdom of charles' beliefs then it's all magneto acting like a comic book villain 24/7 bc he is a comic book villain
