Under the right circumstances, I would say yes, but I'm afraid the reason has more to do with the fact that she's self-destructive than her devotion to her comrades (unless we are talking about Aokiji in a pre-timeskip setup maybe).

Birdie grew up learning that she constantly had to put everything on the line to achieve... anything, really. Proving herself, even at the cost of death, could become more alluring than failure. Plus her life was always considered cheap, by others and herself. This does not mean that she was suicidal or she was always jumping between danger and other marines, but the occasion could arise. I mean, that's what she did for Koby and Helmeppo in Captive.

I think the great thing about fanfiction is that you don’t have to go by what’s canon or not, because in your writing you get to decide what happens. I think you’ve already done a great job at keeping birdie intwined with already canon events, while still keeping her story her own.

I loved captive and love bonds, and am very very fond of emperors. Many of your readers feel the same way, and we’re here to stick around for whatever content you release, no matter how long it might take. You’re stuck with us 🤷‍♀️

The Kid Pirates were what made One Piece special during Wano (not only them, but they do deserve a lot of credit) because something had already been lost by then. I think I have said before that Wano has many issues, at least for me, but it was basically the first arc that heavily featured the KP, so that kept me engaged.

I’ve been following One Piece since the early 2000s, and I believe it’s an epic story comparable to what the Iliad or the Odyssey are. Oda is definitely a genius storyteller.

I do not blame him at all for the fact that lately I’ve not been enjoying OP as much as I used to, it’s a personal struggle. I do have my ideas on why this is happening but ultimately they do not make any difference and millions of people are still loving OP.

I really hope that there will be a decent closure for my favorite characters though, the KP especially but the others as well.

As for my stories, Bonds will be following canon no matter what, I’ve been committed to it from the start and I don’t intend to change this. Emperors is the fic where I take as many liberties as I like, so we can have all the fun in the world with that! It will be my venting valve if everything goes wrong in canon (again). Any AUs are obviously safe from OP plot lines.

I am so sorry sweet Anon, I wish I had it figured it out already. You guys are helping a lot, recently I had an influx of comments on Bonds and Mudblood letting me know how much they love the stories and hoping for an update. ❤️ I do feel that this is supporting me and getting me closer and closer to writing more.

I am still reading the new chapters of One Piece, and I think Elbaph has some great moments. I enjoyed the God Valley flashback a lot. I think if/when my favorite characters show up again (Kid Pirates, Bartolomeo, Perona, Law, Doflamingo, Drake...) I will be more engaged.
