The oral tradition of speaking tales around a campfire is something I've always treasured and something I do with my grandkids regularly. Sure, they get a little antsy when I start weaving in music and pyrotechnics, but that's all a part of the fun I think. There's something special in making sure that everyone gets a show. Regardless, sometimes you simply need to make sure your voice is heard and for that, I have just the most interesting little bauble for you. Take a look.

I am an absolute sucker for a good set of goggles. I think of them as the perfect facial accessory due to their low profile, easy head mounting, and safety protection protocols. There’s just something special about an accessory that is both convenient and useful. That said, these special little eye accessories definitely come with an even more useful feature than just eye protection. You can also peer into the magical world and extract just that little bit of extra information that you may not have been able to otherwise see. Go ahead, try them on for style!

It seems since the moment magic was thrust upon this plain, people began trying to use it to cultivate light and fire. Conjuring flame is one of the very first things new magic practitioners learn and the control of the flame is something the seek to perfect. What is it that draws us so much to fire? Is it the primal instinct to conflate its warmth with safety of a campsite or is the mystery of its nature so integral that our desire to control it overrides the safety instinct to stay away? There’s something truly fascinating about that line of thought, but anyways yes this will burn people quite well!

Oozes just freak me out. There’s something I don’t trust about things without a head to speak of, though I understand their purpose in cleaning up spaces long since forgotten. I have to say there’s little that I find to be redeeming about them. They are unthinking, oddly moving, dangerous blobs with seemingly no thought other than pursuing its next meal and that will always make me question it. Granted I’m also sometimes only in search of my next meal. Alright maybe they’re not so different from us in some ways, but I will say this hammer that I happened to find in a long forgotten place does seem to have made some use for the oozes themselves.

The seasons are such a remarkable thing and to watch them pass one after another right on time, well that’s nothing short of miraculous. They say that that is no accident though as there are beings out there that dedicate themselves to moving the seasons from one into another. That seems like such an oddly specific practice, but for something so important, I can actually see the need for it to ensure it always goes well and we’re never left without the right one in place. Actually the more I think of it, perhaps other important things should have their own overseers, like my morning coffee.

I’ve always been fascinated by those who love art so much as to have it embedded on their own skin. I don’t know that I would be brave enough to attempt it myself, but the passion and the stories they can tell are something that truly speaks to me in a way that brings me great curiosity when I see something with a tattoo. I always want to spend time hearing the story behind it and learning what might have brought them to decide to take such an extreme step of embedding a design into their body for life. One of the most powerful things to me is the memories it can seem to bring, but there are those who do it for another reason. This pen might just be the secret to beauty and power in one.

The art of moving metal into the forms that people are so reliant on for offense and protection is a complicated piece of performance. Balancing the heat so that you don’t burn the metal while not letting it get cold enough that you beat cracks into it is something that takes smiths years to perfectly balance. Then there’s the most important part of all of it, right at the end. The make or break, literally, for any piece of steel is the tempering. Getting the heat treatment precisely right, bringing the metal just to the cusp and then quenching it for the right amount of time trying to avoid bends and warps that could stress the blade. It’s a marvelous thing to watch, but what if we took that a step further.

The power of words cannot be overstated. It’s truly amazing how some think that there cannot be the same power behind words as there can be with actions. Certainly one is more actionable (of course) than the other, but it’s true nonetheless that writing can carry a lot of sway with it as well. The idea that the pen can be mightier than the sword certainly has weight, but that did lead me to ask the question, what if the sword were sort of a pen as well. Cutting and weaving through your enemies is one thing, but can you cut through their psyche? Well this blade may just serve that purpose.

There are several things that are beyond my understanding in the world, but I still enjoy the results of them. Certainly distilling is one of them, but also those that study combat and truly understand what may come next from their opponent. It’s something I’ve often found fascinating being able to run those predictions in your head and potentially know what is just around the corner in combat. I thought long and hard about that, before considering that maybe what I could do is mimic the process with an extensive process calculating mathematical outcomes. Then I threw all that work out and magically imbued some still living brain tissue I had in a weird jar!

Locking down areas and keeping them secure is something that I always advise my clients to take seriously, especially if they’re collectors of things like I am. Your priceless antiquities protected only by a few measly locks and keys certainly won’t do. You’ll need something, or someone with a bit more than just a light suggestion behind their words. A shield like this could be a start, but have you looked into automating it with a construct? Well this shield was pulled from one such construct. No I don’t know what happened to the construct…

I’ve always had an innate love of music that I have never even tried to shake. There’s something intensely personal about the relationship between performer and those who listen. They share a part of their soul with you and you owe it to them to take it in and see how you can connect it to your own life. I find that to be a magical occurrence even when there’s no trickery at play. That said, I have often found that the music can be enhanced with just the right applications of runes and enchantments to really turn it into something special. Bees are just the most fascinating insects, and not just for their penchant to produce a delicious sweetener that we all know and love to add to our tea. No, they have complex communities and social signals that they share with one another. They offer up their lives to protect the colony, yet can be extremely docile when they know they are under no threat. They move about pollen in nature, inadvertently helping to spread more plant life that they then use as their own food sources. They live in complex hierarchies with assigned roles. Oh, you just wanted to hear about the weapon, that’s fine then…

Insects are one of the most fascinating things on this wonderful plane of existence. There’s so many varieties and likely thousands if not millions of species that we have yet to discover. So quick are their lives, but so purpose built are they to their specific tasks. I find that you can learn a lot about the ways the natural world functions by gazing on their societies and seeing how all of the world of bugs comes together to support life in ways that we never thought possible. I love visiting the seedier taverns of the cities around as you can always find the absolute best stuff there. Sure you risk a bar brawl or two, but if you know how to navigate the scene then you can come away with some most interesting finds at a steal of a price. I make no judgments as to how these pieces end up in those particular hands, but I am one who loves a discount. I do have to wonder about those lurking on the edges that run these networks of ill-gotten goods. You have to wonder what kind of person can have so much power and yet be so secretive.

The sun truly is a gorgeous specimen of creation. I’m not sure of the intricacies of how it all works, but I’m always fascinated by its ability to breathe new life into something or take it away with overexposure. It’s a fascinating duality and its radiance certainly feels divine after a cold night camping the wilderness. This staff seems to have been constructed to worship such a wondrous radiance as our sun above as it imparts that same warmth when held. It’s truly a fascinating showpiece and one that I’ll be sad to lose from my shop. Oh well, as they say, a new day will dawn tomorrow. So are you buying?

I truly love the various parades and festivals that take place across these vast lands. There’s nothing more exciting to me than seeing the various sights and taking in some of the games that come along. Then there’s the little oddities, things for sale that you can’t quite find anywhere else. Things that no one else could even think of bringing to market. One such case was found when I witness an origami expert unfortunately end up next to the firespitters stall. Sure, the fire was devastating, but for one glorious moment, it provided a spark of inspiration!

The forests of our natural world are a miraculous place worth exploring and enjoying as often as you can. The problem is that they’re also filled with wood which people seem to be in a great desire for. I won’t pretend to understand the overwhelming need for it, but what I do understand is that there are times that our natural world needs help. For just such an occasion, I’ve taken to working with a druid friend of mine on some more, shall we say, active measures in protecting trees from those who would fell them without care. This shining stave is just one of the many ways you can aid in the effort.
