ć Ā ā® Ā Ā ļ¼£ ļ¼µ ļ¼² ļ¼³ $ ļ¼¤ļ¼ Ā ā® Ā āā Ā Ā Geez  ⦠ this Ā lady  ⦠ now Ā that Ā he Ā was Ā actually Ā TALKING Ā to Ā her, Ā he Ā was Ā quickly Ā realizing Ā how Ā ANNOYING Ā she Ā actually Ā was. Ā It Ā figures Ā that Ā she Ā was Ā part Ā THE Ā GUILD Ā really. Ā She Ā fit Ā right Ā in Ā with Ā those Ā awful, Ā AWFUL Ā people.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The Ā girl Ā demanded Ā answers Ā in Ā such Ā a Ā FIERCE Ā tone Ā and Ā it Ā makes Ā him Ā realize Ā just Ā how Ā many Ā things Ā about Ā her Ā and Ā the Ā Guild. Ā Those Ā people Ā were Ā just Ā like Ā theĀ Ā RESTĀ Ā of Ā the Ā adults Ā heād Ā met Ā in Ā his Ā life; Ā cold Ā and Ā ruthless Ā with Ā no Ā care Ā in Ā the Ā world Ā other Ā than Ā their Ā own Ā personal Ā gains. Ā The Ā very Ā thought Ā only Ā deepens Ā the Ā uncharacteristic Ā scowl Ā upon Ā his Ā face.Ā Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā But Ā as Ā he Ā watches Ā her; Ā listens Ā toĀ Ā HERĀ Ā WORDSĀ Ā carefully Ā as Ā she Ā only Ā trails Ā off Ā as Ā if Ā uncertain Ā of Ā what Ā direction Ā she Ā should Ā go Ā with Ā her Ā words. Ā Ironic  ⦠ that Ā made Ā the Ā two Ā of Ā them. Ā But Ā he Ā was Ā still Ā determined Ā to Ā at Ā least Ā appear Ā better Ā than Ā her Ā ( Ā even Ā if Ā he Ā didnāt Ā have Ā much Ā of Ā a Ā plan Ā at Ā all Ā ).
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā Ā Like  ⦠ like Ā the Ā Guild Ā ! Ā Like Ā those Ā bad, Ā awful Ā people Ā that Ā kidnapped Ā me Ā before Ā ! Ā Those Ā people Ā that Ā tried Ā to Ā use Ā me Ā to Ā blow Ā up Ā the Ā city Ā and Ā LAUGH Ā the Ā entire Ā time Ā because Ā they Ā thought Ā it Ā was Ā funny Ā ! Ā Like Ā that Ā ! Ā Youāre Ā like Ā THAT Ā ! Ā Youāre Ā also Ā an Ā adult Ā too Ā and Ā those Ā are Ā bad Ā ! Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā She Ā spoke Ā as Ā well, Ā didnāt Ā she Ā ? Ā But Ā she Ā never Ā finished Ā her Ā words. Ā WHATĀ Ā did Ā she Ā have Ā on Ā her Ā mind Ā ?
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā Ā Didnāt Ā know Ā I Ā was Ā what Ā ? Ā Why Ā donāt Ā YOU Ā go Ā on Ā too Ā ? Ā Itās Ā only Ā fair Ā ! Ā ā Ā
Everything this kid says is more and more confusing to her. Heād seemed like such a demon when the city was on fire, fearsome and invincible, but now heās just...a kid. A weird kid, with really stupid ideas about how the world works.
āAre you for real? Iām not even that much older than you!ā Lucy complains. āAnd it wasnāt for fun! Weād have been dust way before we set foot here if we did stupid things like that.ā She winces a little, realizing what sheās just said, and quickly adds, ā--But Iām not in the Guild now-- Hell, it doesnāt even exist anymore, so quit it.ā
Sheās still catching herself defending the Guild, even after everything....but old habits die hard, she supposes. After so long there -- every mission a matter of life or death, every mistake an inch closer to abandonment -- sheās still getting used to her new life, and itās hard.
She doesnāt expect him to turn her own words against her, and flounders for a moment. Enemy or not, itās hard to say this sort of thing to a kidās face. āI didnāt know they hadnāt-- gotten rid of you,ā she huffs, crossing her arms. āLike they got rid of me.āĀ
Sheās quiet for a moment, letting something like that out, before suddenly remembering who sheās talking to. āBut--wait, thatās not the point! What are you doing out here?ā she demands. āIs the mafia up to something?ā Sheās not looking for a fight, but if it comes to that, like hell is she going to let anything happen to the Agency on her watch.
