Had a BLAST at the New England Jumpers Association’s JUMP 4 A CURE show today! We did a .70m warmup round, a Gambler’s Choice class, and a .80 jumper classic. We were tied with another horse for 4th in the Gambler’s Choice so they picked one fence and just kept putting it up higher and higher until someone had a rail. Rosey went clear over it at 3′7″ (1.09m) to break the tie. She wasn’t squirrely at all today, she really listened and used her brain and was a total blast to ride.
Took Rosey to a HT last weekend. She finally broke 40 at BN with a 37.25. We went clear on XC and in stadium to finish on our dressage score and bring home the blue ribbon. For the first time since coming back from her injury, she finally felt like herself again. It was such an incredible day and I’m so proud of her <3

11/12/16 - Equine Affaire Standardbred Breed Demo I was very pleased that Rosey went into the arena without a problem. She hasn’t been any space like that before and she went around quietly even though there were lots of people in the stands watching and cheering. She got a little exuberant in her jumping and the jumps were definitely set lower than I had asked for, but overall she was really super and I was very proud of her <3
10/23/16 Photos from an Ultimate 2-Phase we completed last year. It was terribly cold and windy. Her dressage was okay, but her combined XC/stadium round was pretty terrible. We had a refusal at the first fence (she never refuses) and I just barely managed to stay on her and get her around the rest of the course. I never really felt like we got into a rhythm and it was a pretty discouraging day.
The jumping bean loving life while schooling at Equine Affaire this morning! It was super windy and there was a lot of activity, and at first she was pretty spooky/looky but she settled in and gave me some really good work. Our demo is at 3:15pm tomorrow in the Mallory Building!
Is anyone at Equine Affaire this weekend? Come meet Rosey in the United States Trotting Association’s petting stall every morning from 9:00-11:30am! Our breed demonstration is Saturday at 3:15, in the Mallory Building!

Seriously so glad to have her back in action! <3
Beast pony schooling ditches on XC last month!
After having nearly the whole season off to rehab from a suspensory injury, it was incredible to be able to take Rosey to a 2-phase this past weekend. Because she’s just coming back into jumping and had only done coursework once before this weekend (and because I’m terrified of her getting hurt again) we kept it to the elementary level fences this time. We earned a 34.7 in dressage, a new personal best, and although she was still far more tense in her test than she is at home it was definitely her best dressage test at a show to date. I let her fly a bit in the jumping and we went clear, ending on our dressage score and winning our class. I’m beyond proud of her. I feel like this weekend was really a testament to her ability to overcome and come back as strong as before. We have a couple more shows in the works before the season is over and we are planning on returning to Equine Affaire to represent the Standardbred breed again this year so stay tuned!
Hi everyone! Sorry for the inactivity. I started grad school this fall and it’s been making my life totally crazy! Rosey’s rehab is going super! The above photos are from schooling coursework for the first time since her injury at a friend’s barn, and then from a 2-phase we went to this past weekend, her first show of the season! I’ll post details about that show in just a minute!
Rosey had a great checkup with the vet earlier this week! She was really pleased with the progress Rosey has made and said to continue our reconditioning schedule, which is very slow but seems to be doing the trick. She even said "I wish all clients followed directions for rehabbing their horses the way you do!" In two weeks she can go back out in her regular turnout and I can start incorporating trail riding too. In three weeks we may be able to start the canter work again!

Rosey was finally starting to feel less stiff and more like herself by the end of the week! Adding five more minutes of trot this week and then the vet re-evaluates her next week.
Rode my pony for the first time in three weeks today! Followed exactly what the vet said to do and did 10-15min of walking and 5min of trot. She felt stiff and a little discombobulated but she didn’t explode or do anything stupid!
