🇳🇱 Dutch: “Let’s keep it short. Fifteen minutes, we split the cost of the meeting, and I’ll tell you to your face that your idea is bad. No problem, right?”

🇸🇪 Swedish: “First, fika. Then we discuss until everyone agrees — including the intern. This takes until September, but then everyone is truly happy.”

🇦🇹 Austrian: “Can we do it after lunch? And a coffee before? Honestly the whole week doesn’t really suit me, but let’s see, ah well, fine.”

🇧🇪 Belgian: “I’ll ask the Walloon government first, then the Flemish, then Brussels. Once they agree — so, never — I’ll get back to you.”

🇵🇱 Polish: “I’m free anytime. I was already there before you sent the email.”

🇬🇷 Greek: “A meeting? Of course! Which year exactly are you thinking of?”

🇩🇰 Danish: “5pm? That’s when I pick up the kids and cycle home. Work is abolished after 4pm. Hygge.”

PaleyLive: Outlander: A Celebration

As part of The Paley Center for Media's ongoing Paley Live series, this program, Outlander: A Celebration, taped live at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on May 13, 2026, showcases the epic romantic drama, Outlander, in advance of its series' finale.

The lively and engaging conversation, moderated by NYT Bestselling Author and Podcast Host, Jessica Radloff, features cast members Sam Heughan ("Jamie"), Caitríona Balfe ("Claire"), Showrunner & Executive Producer, Matthew B. Roberts and Executive Producer, Maril Davis.

Here’s something I’ve had in the back of my mind for almost as long as I’ve been an Outlander fan.

Jamie and Claire have always and will always find each other. Literally.

Claire is born in 1918 and falls through time in 1945. She arrives in 1743, spends 3 years there, goes back to the 20th century, stays there until 1968, goes back to 1766. Presumably lives the rest of her days with Jamie until she dies (Diana Gabaldon has repeatedly said that she expects the series to end circa 1800, in Scotland, but then again she said that Book 5 would be called “King Farewell” and that there would only be one more book after that…but I digress…)

Anyway, the key point is that even if Jamie and Claire pass away circa 1800, Claire will be born again in 1918. She’ll fall through time again in 1945. She’ll meet Jamie again in 1743. Etc.

So they’re in an endless loop of finding each other, losing each other, and then finding each other again.

Here’s food for thought: If Jamie and Claire are in this loop - and have been in it countless times - what iteration are we reading about in the Books? Is this their 10th go-round? 100th?

'Outlander' stars Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan recalled the time that they overslept for an 'Outlander' cast read through due to a whisky tasting that a co-star of theirs threw in season 1. Balfe and Heughan were at their 'Outlander' finale panel to discuss the end of their long-running show.

Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan told the story of how she had to help him with technology by giving him her login to watch the 'Outlander' finale. Balfe, a self-proclaimed luddite, said she learned something new about Heughan, that he might be worse at technology than she is.

This Isn't a Rom-Com

There’s something I keep seeing in my inbox that I think needs saying out loud.

A lot of people are still trying to turn this into a love story. Something soft, romantic, reassuring. And I understand the instinct. It’s easier to sit with a narrative that feels good. But sometimes what you’re looking at simply doesn’t match that.

What we see, consistently, isn’t warmth. It isn’t ease. It isn’t a man who looks particularly invested or emotionally present. And at some point, calling that out isn’t negativity, it’s just observation.

And for those asking why he would stay if it’s “so bad” — I’ve never said he’s unhappy. People don’t stay in dynamics like this for no reason. There’s usually something in it for them. It could be comfort. It could be convenience. It could be that it’s easy. It could be physical/sexual. It could be that it fits into his life without asking too much of him.

The Case of the Missing Photos

I’ve seen this come up again over the past couple of days, so I’ll just address it briefly.

There seems to be this ongoing reference to photos Steph posted before Sam, which have since disappeared. A small circle appears to know what was on them, and for quite some time now there have been hints, reactions, and fairly strong opinions built around something that was never actually shown or clearly described.

I also received an anon recently suggesting that I was deliberately keeping this vague or turning it into some kind of mystery. Just to be clear, I’ve already said weeks ago that I don’t know what was on those photos either. I’m not part of that inner circle.

That said, I received another anon only a few hours ago during the night explaining what was allegedly on them, which is quite the timing.

I fully understand not reposting the images themselves. That’s a line, and a reasonable one. But building a narrative around something while keeping the actual content vague creates a very specific kind of dynamic. It invites speculation, escalation, and, inevitably, distortion. Information half-shared tends to do exactly that.

So for me, this isn’t about exposing anything. It’s about clarity. If something is significant enough to shape how people view a situation, then at the very least the substance of it should be stated plainly. Otherwise, it remains in that grey zone where everyone fills in the gaps with their own assumptions. I’m not particularly interested in that kind of fog.

So I’m going to share what was sent to me, without embellishment and without adding to it. People can make of it what they will. As always, facts over fanfiction. Patterns over projection.

Sorry Sam, I could feel your embarrassment in having to play this out. You did your best to breathe life into the incredibly trite and melodramatic, and all around cheap, soap-operish script unworthy to be the end of the saga that we fell so hard for, and that you served as best as you were allowed to. I am sorry that your remaining efforts will go unseen by me, but this is the end of the road for me.

At this point, I don't even care to read book ten, or listen to the rest of the audio books. You blew my devotion to smithereens. AND I HATE YOU ALL FOR IT!!!

And here is the brilliant invention of Toni 'wouldn't it be fun if ...' Graphia, full of holes like Swiss cheese.

Ian sends the printed interview that Jane gave to that reporter, whom Jane has told that her mother Faith was given as a baby to a lace maker in Paris by a man who told her to raise her until he comes back, and if he doesn't come back, to give it to Lady Broch Turach. He also taught the song 'By the sea' to the woman to sing it to the baby. He never came back, and she never gave the baby to Lady Broch Tuarach, but raised her as her own (but, apparently, did tell her the story of her birth!!!) Then Faith got married, had daughters and learned that Lady Broch Tuarach lives in North Carolina, so they set sail to find her and were killed by the pirates!

How did six months dead fetus get revived and - with no incubator - given to a stranger? Why did MH let it happen? Why did MR take the baby and gave it to the lace maker? Why did he teach her the song? How did a French woman learn an English song that was sung to her once? Faith was miscarried in mid May and Frasers left Paris in September, why didn't she look for them in those 5 months? Why didn't she give it to Claire when Claire came to her shop to buy a lace veil to wear to Faith's grave? How did they find out Claire is in NC? And in all the time they spent in the brothel, it never occurred to Jane to tell ANY of this to Fanny, only when she was sentenced to death, she entrusts the stranger to write the story on an off chance that it will somehow get to Fanny! Big log of Swiss cheese. Mice can run through those holes.

Then Claire weepily delivers an incredibly saccharine monologue explaining to weepy Fanny all of the above, while Jamie sits next to her like a log (Sam looking deathly embarrassed to be witnessing this 'dRaMa') and Fanny runs out of the room!!! and starts crying at Jane's cairn, because she has lost everyone in her family and now she will lose the Frasers !?!? WTF?!?! All of that dialogue is awfully written, just vomitously bad!!! And everyone is weeping and crying and miserable. But then Claire says how finding Fanny has now healed her heart! Seriously? A stolen child, watched her 10 year old get ra*ed, thrown in to the ocean to drown, and another granddaughter whoring herself for 7 years, and suiciding herself ... all of that is now healed and it's a happy ending? Jeeez!!!!

And if that wasn't enough to make you blow your gasket, they didn't have the guts to have H-C die, but instead (to keep the tRaGeDy going) killled Fergus! This is how they like to surprise book lovers!!!

And to make a perfect trifecta of shite - they have William interrupt John and Percy kissing, and then, having found out that John was a governor of the prison where Jamie was a prisoner, he immediately assumes that the two were lovers and that is why John took William to raise, making Jamie gay too. John denying it is feeble and contrived and completely unbelievable. You can imagine how well it bodes for William's future relationship with Jamie.

And - pièce de résistance - Claire is front and center, as if Faith was a child she brought to Jamie by some other man, it is all about HeR loss, hEr suffering, HeR pain ... Jamie is merely an appendage. And a bad one at that. Seems obvious to me that Sam was so embarrassed to be a part of it, that he couldn't act his way out of a bag! After being so good in this season, he was back to the large tree in the background like he spent S6.

I’m so sick of seeing Tara & Island Peakers. Anyone else tired of seeing her damn face?

This has been brought to their attention NUMEROUS time by MULTIPLE people who clearly don’t matter. Definitely not rejoining next year. I’m finally over it.
