It's a blood sport.

[JJ was busy doing a little bit of everything today, she was busy wiping down a table when she felt a presence behind her.] We have some empty tables on the other side. But if you want to sit over here just wait a second.

   “Actually, I put in an order to go, but I’ll always wait for you, sweetheart.” Jared leaned against the counter with a smirk on his lips.

He growls at the pain, but it’s bearable. He feels every bones in his body breaking and remodelling themselves for his wolf form. He feels someone else close by, but they don’t come closer and that makes him relax into his transformation.

As soon as she walked into the kitchen, she could smell the stench of whiskey clinging to him. How many glasses had he had? Danielle knew that he couldn’t get drunk, he was a werewolf after all and it would be hard for him to get to that level, but she still saw just how hard the news was hitting him. So, he knew then. And his words only drove the point home. He knew. The words echoed in her head until she could find her voice. 

“I don’t want to leave.” She whispered and padded closer to him until she stood right before him, wedging herself to stand in between his legs. “I don’t want you to send me away. This life.. it’s all that I’ve known. I’ve never lived outside the walls of this city.” The idea of leaving scared her and she didn’t want Jared to send her away. “I am happy with you, Jared.” For once, she was finally really happy and not just playing the game with a Master. 

      He watched as she moved closer, but he didn’t budge. Not yet. He wanted to see what she would say first. He was prepared for any answer. “Repeat yourself,” He’d be lying to say that he wasn’t even the least bit surprised. He was. She actually wanted to stay. Jared leaned up when she moved closer. His arms wrapped around her and he maneuvered her to sit on his lap.  “You want to stay, Danielle Brisby?”

   He was happy with that. “You can stay right here. With me and Valentina.”

Danielle came back from the meeting in a sort of daze. The city was abolishing slavery? But how? Slavery had been established in the city long before she was born, and she had assumed it would continued long after she had died. Slavery was all that she knew, it had been what she had been born for. It was what she had been groomed for. Yet, they broke the news to her and all the other slaves before letting them go. 

Making her way back to Jared’s house, she felt completely lost. What was she going to do? Slavery had been all that she knew and now it was gone. Pushing open the door, she caught his scent in the kitchen and moved towards it, still feeling like she was in a fog. “Jared?” She murmured, catching sight of the man. Did he know? What had he thought when the guards came to take her away? What was going to happen now?

    Jared was one of the many Masters that were not happy with the new direction of the city. But the changes were not his choice. The Alpha had come to the conclusion, and all that wished to remain in the city would follow them. Jared didn’t like it, but it didn’t mean that he was ready to leave. He returned back to his home, quickly downing a glass of whisky the moment he’d entered his study. “Well, fuck,” he whispered, thinking again of Danielle.

     He entered the kitchen, sitting down at the table for a moment, just to think. He hadn’t even realized Danielle was there until he heard her voice. His eyes raised. She knew. Of course she knew. All of the slaves had to know. “Hello, kitten.” He leaned back in his seat.  “Will you be leaving the city with the boatloads of others?”

[Levi liked the new changes to the city, figured it would bring more folks into town and some much better company as well. Plus it got him his new job at VIP Elite, the new bartender of one of their many bars. Walking through the city he heard many people reacting to the change in a positive way. As he was walking he felt a presence join him.] Beautiful day isn’t it?

  “The weather is nicer than we’ve had in a while,” Jared looked over to the other. He still wasn’t entirely happy about the changes, but he didn’t  voice it. His girl had decided to stay, and the new rules were what the Alpha wanted. so Jared would obey the rules regardless of how he felt about them. “How’ve you been, Levi?”

“Oh come on! You aren’t happy about it?” Alexis wondered, stopping her hopping around and then looking over at him, grinning brightly at him. “This will be so cool I mean, I’ve never even had a chance like this.”

  He gave her an odd look. “Why would I be excited? No more rough fun,” he growled and crossed his arms over his chest. Didn’t change it that she was still a cute little thing; free or not. “Never? Have you always been a slave, Alexis?”

“Well I for one am SUPER digging this! I’m free, got a nice comfy bed for once, even got myself some second hand rollerskates. It’s real sweet…I can finally get myself candy too if I want it. Did I finally get a break?” Alexis grinned, before pausing “But hey, sorry for interrupting what were ya sayin’?”

  At least someone was happy about the new news. Jared was not. He rather enjoyed the idea of slaves. Maybe because he could do to them whatever he wanted. Consent didn’t matter. Unlike now. His girl had surprisingly chosen to stay with him. So that was a plus. She could have ditched the city. “Why am I not surprised to see that you’re excited.”
